About the Owner
John and I lived in the West Country. John had a small business for twenty years, and I was a school cook at the local infants school for nineteen years. We had for a long time dreamed of living in the Mediterranean area, and in 2003 we decided to take the plunge and have never regretted it

Many thanks for having us to stay this week. It has been utterly relaxing and just what we needed. Your home is beautiful, as is the area and we really couldn't get over how peaceful it is. We have had a fantastic time and wonderful holiday thanks to you both and hope to be back one day Anna and Ian
Our fourth month long visit says it all. Thanks again for your generosity and efficiency it was much appreciated. You haven't seen the last of us

Our return visit. A welcome stress free week after our experience of being stranded by last weeks Aguilas floods, whilst staying there. John and Janes offer of help to rescue us was much appreciated. The lovely warm welcome and generous hospitality and friendliness enabled us to unwind

march stay in Lorca
A beautiful well-maintained property. Accurate description, if anything larger than expected. Very helpful and pleasant owners who could not do enough for us. We had an unusually cold week with a bitter wind but the log burner worked well. Walking in Espuna and Velez Rubio and Blanca good. Coast at St Juan and Villaricco good. Car necessary.Would recommend this villa.
This is a property that should remain a secret..... it's a perfect location that's allowed us to totally recover and re-generate ourselves after working too hard here in the UK. The location is quiet and peaceful, the property and pool are spotless and your hosts John and Jane have the most unusual knack of being there in the background, but never physically there with you, like a pair of guardian angels to make sure everything goes well. Thank you Jane and John for another remarkable visit......the wall to wall sunshine helped too whilst the UK remained so wet and cool! Thank you!
Lovely Lorcean Holiday
The property was exactly as described. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The pool was wonderful. The hosts Jane and John were friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Sheets and towels changed as agreed. A good location outside Lorca in the countryside but quick access to motorway for visits to places such as Aguillas, Cartagena, Murcia, and Lorca. But remember most museums etc close between 2 and 5pm and all day Mondays. Beaches to visit are San Juan and Tortilla near Aguillas. Do visit the Blue and White Easter costume museums in Lorca which were magnificent. We found a really nice restaurant in Lorca called D'Maria.
This apartment stands out from the others
We enjoyed our week very much. The apartment was bigger than we expected from the photos – light and airy and spotlessly clean. Jane and John were the perfect hosts – especially helpful when we needed to contact our car rental switchboard ! We have stayed at many Owners Direct properties over the years but this one will always stand out from the others. Marble floors, sunny roof terrace, our own shaded parking space outside the front door . . . The woodburner kept us toasty warm on the chilly evenings ( early March ) Our favourite day out was to Velez Blanco and we found scenic walks in this area and also in Sierra Espuna ( spectacular mountain roads ) and Cabeza de la Jara ( interesting Astronomical walk ) The remote control gate was fun to operate and made us feel safe and secure.
heaven on earth
We have holidayed here a few times now and we will not not stop visiting this wonderful part of Spain but the best part is the magnificent apartment attached to the house of Jane and John who are the best hosts you will ever meet. They are happy to help with questions about the area. They have this way of being there when you need advice and then not there when you need time to yourself. To stay in an apartment with a swimming pool which is just for the people staying in the apartment, and for the price, is wonderful. The apartment is absolutely lovely and cool which is needed when it gets really hot and just great when you first walk into it after a long journey, so clean and tidy. The scenery is flat and beautiful and Lorca itself is a very impressive large town and is about 10 minutes from the apartment. There are lots of places to visit and details are found in the apartment (or ask Jane!) We have recommended our lovely holiday apartment to many people. It's worth a visit, try it!
Activity and Interests
The two sandy beaches of Aguilas are a 25 minute drive away through mountains plus other beautiful coves and beaches dotted along the coast in either direction of Aguilas.
Would you like to be taken out birdwatching whilst staying at our apartment? Experienced local birder, Dave Elliott-Binns, would be willing to take you out to Cabo de Gato to see Greater Flamingos and other coastal/salt pan birds, to the Sierra de Maria for Griffon Vultures, Eagles and other forest birds or to El Fondo Bird Reserve for reed and Marsh dwelling birds. You can contact him on firstname.lastname@example.org

Lorca is an absolute delight, visit the medieval quarter and visitor centre or take part in some retail therapy. Visit Lorca at Easter and watch the most magnificent procession you are ever likely to witness.
Take a day out and visit the medieval town of Caravaca De La Cruz, drive onto Maratalla and return through Bullas and the breathtaking scenery of Siera Cambron.
