Guestbook comments from the owner

'I would just like to give you some feedback on our holiday at Casa Saudade. We loved the house - absolutely unique. We listened to many of your CDs, read some of your books, splashed around on the airbed and my daughter loved having a guitar to play - a real bonus that. The situation couldn't be better and we loved Salema. Brilliant week. Thank you so much. Hasta la vista!'

A blissful hideaway in gorgeous Salema.

  • 5 of 5

We first came across this amazing Casa in September last year whilst on our Spain-Portugal road trip in our campervan. We visited family and absolutely fell in love with this beautiful Casa and Salema. We vowed to return and 6 months later we did.

This is a holiday home like no other, a taste of Morocco in Portugal. So much attention has been given to every detail. It's position in Salema is fantastic, tucked away down a tiny cobbled street, only minutes away from the most stunning beach and fantastic fish restaurants.

Salema really does have everything, you could stay all week and never leave. Having said that there are so many other wonderous beaches to visit it would be a shame not to explore. The West Coast is well worth a day trip but Salema is still the best place to stay in our opinion.

Don't be in doubt, book it, you will not be disappointed.

Lovely relaxing holiday in a fantastic house.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed staying in the lovely Moroccan House. The house was well furnished and well equipped with a brilliant patio and upstairs balcony. We were more or less on the beach and close to the restaurants in Salema. Breda made us very welcome, we would highly recommend the house.

Fantastic, peaceful and relaxing break

  • 5 of 5

This little house is so unusual and creates the perfect atmosphere for a wonderful, relaxing and quiet break. We spent a lot of time in the house and on the beach which is literally a minute away. The upper terrace is a sun trap - the lower one being more shaded. Everything you need is there - and the welcome pack was very generous and....welcome as we arrived at lunch time. Perhaps not the place for very young children due to the steep stairs, but otherwise I would really recommend this charming house. The pictures do not due it justice really. Salema itself still feels very much like a village and there are lovely restaurants all of which we tried and we did not have a bad meal anywhere. We hope to go back as we had such a lovely break.

Amazing house

  • 5 of 5

This property is in a small quiet side street . It is beautifully decorated with lots of quirky features . The back court yard has a refreshing star shaped pond and a cool alcove idea for enjoying eating outside. I think the fact that I have stayed here very summer for five years tells you how much I appreciate it and it's surroundings.

Wonderful, restful and full of character!

  • 5 of 5

From the minute we stepped through the door we knew this was a good choice! The house is full of character and the welcome tray, bathroom supplies, Cds, DVDs and books meant that all our initial needs were catered for on arrival so we could just relax and enjoy - which we did very well!

The cottage is very near the beach, great restaurants and a small supermarket - a perfect hideaway.

Beautifully private, only 1 minute from the beach

  • 5 of 5

Absolutely loved staying here, the house is amazingly furnished and the architecture is very different to anything else I have seen before. It was wonderfully airy and light throughout.

We arrived to find it immaculate and they had even provided some snacks for us, which was perfect after our travelling.

Without a doubt I would recommend staying here to anyone. Salema is a beautiful little fishing village that still has enough cars and restaurants to make sure you have to go to the same place twice, if you don't want to.
