Luxury and very spacious apartment (2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms) in a peaceful setting amongst pine trees on the 10th fairway of Alto Golf, yet less than 200 metres from the club house. There is a communal swimming pool set in landscaped gardens. The apartment, which also has splendid views of the Monchique mountains, is only 3 minutes drive from the picturesque fishing village of Alvor and superb local beaches. An adjoining property ref P1568 is owned by the same family, so we can accept up to 10 people.

About the Owner

Huw & Jayne are both Welsh and run an industrial cleaning business in Cardiff. Although their main passion is skiing and the mountains ( Huw is a qualified ski instructor) they also love the Algarve. Both are keen golfers and Huw is also passionate about road cycling. Huw's parents Colin & Val also own the neighbouring property ( ref P1568).

We have just returned (husband and 3 boys)from a very enjoyable stay at your lovely apartment. It was both spacious and very well equipped and lived up to your description if not in some cases surpassed it as was the case of you large west facing terrace over the 10th fairway , a fab place to dine or to hang out and read a book. The pool was great and your neighbours especially Pablo were really nice, especially to my boys. The location was great and in 5 minute drive from Alvor and some truly spectacular beaches (advised from the locals!) .Georgina & Brian Goff

Great trip, highly recommended

I have just returned from a trip to Alto Golf and had a really great trip. The apartment is perfect and really spacious, with a huge balcony off the main bedroom and living area, which overlooks the golf course. The resort itself is in a great location, about 5 minutes drive to a number of large supermarkets and Alvor beach. Praia do Vau is a slightly closer beach, but we preferred Alvor.

Would highly recommend Huw's apartment to friends and family and would like to thank Huw for all his help prior to our trip. Definitely will go back!

It is a lovely and very comfortable apartment in a very relaxing setting. The appartment is impecibly maintained and very clean. The owners have thought of everything in the information that they give to you on the apartment. I would recommend it highly.

A car is needed. We know the area very well as it is our 10th visit to alvor and it is by far the nicest apartment. Restaurants I would recommend are Tasc Mauris , casa De mar both in alvor.

Lovely Alvor with a great place to stay:)

We have stayed in Alvor many many times before so were looking for a place to use for our next trip and found this one. Great apartment, well furnished with pool just 1 min walk (if that) from the back door. If you want a busy clubhouse, on site entertainment and hundreds of people to play with then you will need to look elsewhere. If you like it quiet and peaceful then this is the place for you. Liked the two terraces, front has great views over the golf course and rear onto the lawns and garden. It doesn't natter if you don't play golf this place is a great base as Alvor is only a 5 min drive and so is the beach. We had a great holiday and will definitely be returning. I would say that you need a car to stay here or rely on taxis but as the Algarve has so much to offer and Alvor puts you not far away from most things so worth getting out and about.

Dolphin Safari - Sagres 1 hour saw Dolphins and Orcas

Splash and Slide - Portimao 15 mins great water park lots if fun

Zoological Park - Lagos -30 mins - great little zoo

Monchique 25 mins - great mountains/town to cool down in

And so much more.

E2D Silvestre, Alto Golf

The location of E2D is idyllic and exactly as described in all the references, parallel to the tenth fairway and 300yards from the clubhouse. We have stayed here at varying times throughout the year on ten occasions over the past decade. There is so much to do, the most breath-taking coastal walks accompanied with wonderful restaurants and bars that are all very reasonably priced for a family.

The Portuguese welcome is first rate and the private pool is a tranquil luxury with the grounds and apartment maintained to an impeccable standard. We would recommend any of the Alvor restaurants as this is certainly not a kiss-me-quick destination and for the ultimate dining experience you must try the Canicao restaurant in the Praihina Resort. We will be back many more times!

alvor( alto golf}

Went with my grown up children and partners for a week in June 2014, Organising the stay was straight forward and Hew was very helpful and accmodating The apartment is spacious and spotless (which is always top of my list ) The kitchen is well fitted and the apartment has outside furniture front and back so you can dine out in either sun or shade. It has a safe for valubles and the apartment itself is very secure. The pool was welcome for a dip when warmest but is smallish. We had it to ourselves in June which was lovely.

A neighbour who lives there permanently was there to check everything was OK and sorted a minor issue out speedily. It was reassuring if you are thinking of booking here to know that this care is provided.

I cannot fault this apartment and would recommend it.

It is on the golfing site so ideal if your a golfer. You do need a car

if you stay here as a bit away from ALVOR itself but taxis are cheap.

we had a lovely time and felt at home in this place. Would definetely go again.

We both fell in love with the Algarve during holidays in the late ninetees and after several years of research we decided on the less spoilt Western Algarve and Alvor for purchasing our holiday home. Because of the keen interest in golf we wanted to be on a golf course, as well as close to the sea and access to a village with restaurants, bars etc. There are so many different beaches and great cliff top walks on our doorstop. We bought off plan in 2002. On every visit we are amazed how Alvor has transformed itself from a working fishing harbour into a classy fishing village resort. Just like in the UK Cycling is also becoming more popular on the Algarve and as a bonus the area between Alvor and the Monchique mountains boasts the best cycling on the Algarve.

15 minutes walk to nearest beach.Some of the Algarve's best beaches (Alvor, Praia Da Rocha, Praia do Vau) are less than 5 minutes drive away. The west coast beaches, which boast some of the best in Europe for surfing are less than 1 hours drive.


Faro airport 50 minutes drive - new road improvements have made this drive very straightforward. The new motorway has also opened up the whole of the beautiful unspoilt Western Algarve. A hire car means that you get the most from this fantastic area as well as getting to other golf courses - we can advise of hire companies which provide some of the best rates. Taxis are readily available and reasonably priced ( € 5 into Alvor).


All by car : Lagos 20 minutes, Monchique mountains 30 minutes, Silves 25 minutes, Portimao 5 minutes, Alvor 3 minutes. Sagres, Aljezur and the amazing west coast 50 minutes.

Small nearby minimarket 300 metres. Large hypermarket and shops 5 mins by car.

Further Details:

Alvor is a picturesque fishing village with a maze of cobbled streets full of busy restaurants specialising in fresh fish which is barbequed outside. There are many international restaurants as well as bars which have excellent nightlife. Praia da Rocha offers restaurants and nightlife and Portimao offers many shops as well as restaurants and nightlife. (we have a guest book in the apartment with a recommended list of restaurants as well as places to visit). There are some dramatic and scenic cliff top walks nearby.

The golf club house is relaxed and serves a great choice of food and drink from 7am-7pm and has a panoramic terrace overlooking the 18th green as well as an air conditionned bar with the all sports shown on a large Tv screens.

You rarely see apartments as large or as well spaced out like this one. Having both a front balcony as well as a rear garden terrace means that you can have sun or shade at any time of the day. We are between the fishing village of Alvor and the busy resort of Praia Da Rocha, as well as close to the facilities of Portimao so everything is close at hand. We have continually refurbished the apartment since 2002 and we are really please to have so many regular guests who return regularly to enjoy the apartment and the area just as we do.
