Studio Apartment Aphrodite (1 Bedroom, Sleeps 2)
This self-contained air-conditioned upper apartment is reached by a winding marble stairway from the front door. It has 2 very large balconies, one with pergola with a bamboo cover which provides shade but allows a dappled light through, with stunning sea views.
It comprises a large double room with twin beds and a cherrywood parquet floor, fitted wardrobe, small cupboard, dressing table and mirror, music system, satellite TV with Nova TV with many news, documentary, music, kids' channels and for viewing with DVD player, a selection of DVDs, wifi internet access and sink/cooker/fridge/storage unit.
The kitchen area is fully equipped for preparing and eating meals with a food preparation area. There is also an ironing board and iron and electric kettle.
One of the balconies is accessed by a very large, double-glazed window which has electrically operated blinds. The other is accessed by a door.
There is a fully-tiled shower room with cabinet.
This three storey house is just 4 kms south of Gennadi with a long garden leading from a large patio with a pergola for shade directly onto a wide, secluded beach with spectacular views. There are sea-view balconies to every room with the studio apartment having 2 very large ones, one with a bamboo-topped pergola for shade, with a 300 degree panorama of the sea and surrounding countryside. A substantial paved area to the front and side of the house will contain several cars. Gennadi can be reached by walking either along a pleasant country road or along the wide, quiet beach. The whole area has retained its Greek identity with subtle tourism. It is perfect for hill-walking, cycling and for those who like the countryside, with tourist facilities close by in Pefkos and Lindos.

Christine is a retired teacher. Keith retired from his job as a teacher of Academic English in September 2103, when we are both going to spend more time in the villa off season.
We will spend time making our lovely garden there even more enchanting and Keith will have more time to devote to creative writing and hopes to sell more of his books online.
We live in Loughborough in Leicestershire. Christine has triplet grandchildren aged 3 and a half who we look after a lot.
We are learning Greek now so that we can communicate with our Greek friends in Gennadi in their language.

Why Christine Harris chose Greece
We visted Rhodes twice and hired a car both times to tour round the south of the island. The first time we went past the site of the house we saw similar houses further down and Christine said that it would be lovely to have a place there. The next time we saw a sign with a telephone and the rest is history.
We loved the peace of the area and the fact that you can walk down the garden to the beach. Gennadi and all the other villages in the area except Kiotari are totally unglobalised and tenaciously Greek. We value the fact that we are away from the tourist crowds but that we can join the fun and enjoy the facilities when we choose.
What makes this apartment unique
There are very few properties in the area offering direct access to the beach. The beach stretches for miles in both directions and is virtually private, as only a few renters in surrounding villas and the locals are ever on it.
There is a cool beach bar on the beach within 15 minutes' walk.
Another lovely village, Lachania is only 10 minutes' drive away.

No choice but to relax
Wonderfully relaxing holiday. Stunning garden filled with wild flowers and herbs and a path leading down to the secluded beach. Crystal clear water, ideal for cooling off and swimming safely. Two balconies, one for the morning shade and the other for the afternoon. Fully equipped kitchen. Needed to hire a car for provision buying, no taxi's available. Thank you for a wonderful summer holiday, hope to return.
We are so lucky that we found this peaceful place! It is perfectly positioned for some great swimming, chilling and relaxing; the beach is gorgeous with no one around! The nearby village has the best bakery in the world, and the shops in the village also sell amazing local produce.
We stayed in the little studio which was enough for a week away: the property has 2 huge balconies, too (it could be breezy, though). The views from the studio are spectacular, make sure you wake up just before the sunrise and then go straight for the swim! Then you can appreciate your breakfast even more.
We would like to go back!

The Aphrodite Apartment was exactly what we had hoped for. The apartment is small but well equipped. THere are many good and cheap restaurants close by, but if you want to cook, the kitchen has everything you need and there is a barbecue. The large balconies face the beach and the mountains and catch the sun most of the day if you don't want to go to the beach. THe owners have thoughtfully provided chairs and umbrellas to take down to the beach and there are plenty of books and DVDs if you ever want to stay inside.
What really makes the apartment special is its location. A 50 metre stroll through the lovely garden brings you directly onto the beach. Miles of deserted beach - some days there was literally nobody else in sight. The sea is calm and crystal clear - the multi colour marble pebbles shine through the water. For a relaxing and lazy holiday it was perfect, but there are many other beaches within easy reach and the towns of Lindos and Rhodes are ideal day trips.
I would recommend this apartment without hesitation.

Activity and Interests
The beauty of this property is its position next to the beach, which is almost private because access from the road is very limited to passing traffic. It is used mainly by residents if at all. The 10 kilometre sweep of Gennadi Bay is magnificent with views to Kiotari and Pefkos. The beach is sand and pebble. It is ideal for beachcombing. The sea is clean with a Green Flag award and is suitable for swimming for most of the year.
The only airport is an hour by car. Car hire is strongly recommended and can be arranged by the owners if clients wish. There is a regular bus service from Gennadi.
Rhodes enjoys 300 days of sun per year. It is an island full of historical and archeological interest. The island narrows at this point to 22kms across to the beautiful west coast. It is about 6kms to Kiotari, 17kms to lively Pefkos and 22kms to the famous tourist centre of Lindos. It is 24kms to Prassonissi in the south where the Mediterranean and the Aegean Seas meet spectacularly.
Gennadi is well appointed for post office, supermarkets, bakery, cafes, bars, wi-fi cafes and tavernas. A Bureau de Change is also available in high season. Further facilities are available in Kiotari and the pretty village of Lardos (13kms). All of these are accessible by bus from Gennadi.
Turkey and various Greek islands including Symi and Karpathos are easily accessible on a daily basis. Other sailing activities are available on the island.
There are theme parks and the unique Valley of the Butterflies within 45 mins by car. Rhodes Old Town is a World Heritage Site.

We reduced our high season prices in 2013. We are teachers and resent the price hikes in the summer, so we have set the same price from April to October. This is not just for teachers but for parents with children.
Cars (with air-conditioning in high season and to and from the airport) can be booked by us if the client wishes at very good prices or we can give you the firm's details.

- Notes on accommodation: Both apartments are accessed through a door at the front of the house and are suitable for children. The marble stairs are wide with handrails. The bedrooms of the Poseidon apartment are directly accessible from the front door which has steps leading up to it. The whole property has electric heating/air-conditioning. There is a TV to both apartments for playing videos and DVDs and with NOVA satellite TV. Poseidon and Aphrodite have wifi internet access. With protection of the environment in mind, towels and linen are changed once during a 2-week stay. A full clean is done at the same time. Renters can arrange further changes and cleaning with the housekeeper at their own cost. Outside: All rooms have 2 chairs and a table on the balconies. On the patio there are 7 chairs and 2 patio tables. There are 6 sunbeds provided together with small tables, sets of snorkelling equipment. These can be taken down to the beach if required. Please bring them back!! There is a beautiful garden both in the front and the back, the latter stretching down to the dunes and beach. We have a grape vine over the patio, olive, apricot, fig and pomegranate trees, cactus gardens, and an avenue of hibiscus and oleander in the back. In the spring and summer the garden is full of flowers, daisies, lantana, pergaloneums and many others. There are flowers all year round. We have several beautiful pieces of garden furniture made from recycled wood and several patios for a relaxing drink and read, including a semicircular bench under a large palm in the front.
