Villa located between Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo and Almancil, Central Algarve - Peaceful Location, 5 Minute Drive To The Beach, Close To All Amenities, Family Friendly

A newly refurbished family villa ideally located in the middle of the Golden Triangle. Our villa is positioned in a quiet area between Vale do Lobo, Quinta do Lago and Almancil. With a new kitchen, bathrooms, living areas and air-conditioned bedrooms it is perfectly self-contained for those who just want to lounge by the private pool all day and relax with a BBQ in the evening. For those who want to be a little more active it is conveniently located a few minutes away from local beaches, golf courses, tennis courts, water parks, restaurants and the amenities of Almancil. There is a newly designed spacious garden including a lawn play area, which is ideal for young children. A wide range of toys for the youngsters are also included. There are three bedrooms with twin beds and large fitted wardrobes, sleeping six people. There are two bathrooms, one with a bath and shower and the other with a wet room. There is a private pool, patio and traditional Portuguese brick BBQ area. Hire includes bath and beach towels, hair dryers, free wifi, and satellite TV (NB the satellite in this area changes a lot, so we're unable to guarantee what channels will be available). A cot, high chair and stair gates are also available.

What a fantastic location, quiet yet close to the beach and all the local amenities, the children loved it.

The new owners have done a wonderful job of refurbishing this villa. It is really smart and modern now.

Lovely Family Owned Villa in a great position

We have stayed at Villa Helandria 3 times in the last 10 years, and thoroughly enjoyed every time. It is well equipped, with modern kitchen and bathrooms and efficient air-con in the bedrooms. The pool, bbq area and terrace are of great size, and its position close to the Algarve Tennis and Fitness Club, the beach and Vale Do Lobo centre (for our teenagers) is ideal. We have no hesitation in rebooking.

Beautiful Oasis

We stayed in this gorgeous retreat for a very restful and luxurious week in the sun. It is beautifully furnished and maintained perfect for just hanging out by the pool and bbq. Everything has been thought about, from towels to kitchenware to regular cleaning (pool and villa) so once you're there you can truly relax. But what is truly outstanding about Helandria is that it is so close to world class beaches, easy shopping, good eating and plenty of attractions - all a short drive away. My wife currently uses a wheelchair but we found everything very accessible, from the beaches and restaurants to the downstairs bedroom and airport facilities. We spent most of the time at the villa and the beach (including meals at the beautifully appointed beach restaurants) but we also made a couple of easy day trips to the real Portugal and to the very entertaining Zoomarine as a treat for our three year-old (though suitable for any age). Altogether, highly recommended.

Wonderfully Refurbished

We have been travelling to Portugal for over 30 years. Over 5 years ago we stayed in this villa, but last month we spent nearly two weeks here. The new owners, Andy and Helen, have done a great job modernising the villa. It has a lovely pool and the garden is now far less overgrown than before. They have fitted a new kitchen, dining area and new bathrooms. One of the bathrooms has a wonderful wet room with a fantastic shower. The water is now solar heated and is surprisingly hot, even early the next morning. Helen has two young children so has made the villa very "child friendly" with stair gates, cots etc all included in the price. Unusually they have also included beach towels as well so you don't need to use up your luggage allowance. The villa is not on a major development and because of that tends to be very quiet and peaceful. Unlike many villas we have rented there are plenty of utensils, plates, cups etc. Indeed if you wanted friends round for a BBQ you could easily cope with 12 people. Another nice touch about this villa is that all the bedrooms have really big wardrobes, with lots of hangars.

There are over 50 restaurants within 2-3 miles of the villa, so if you want to eat out, there is plenty of choice. If you want to eat in, then we would always recommend the large BBQ, which even in October we were using during the evening.

If we go to this part of Portugal again we would definitely try to rent it again.

Activity and Interests


A few beaches are 3km from the villa, where you will find a number of restaurants and beach bars.


Faro airport is only a 20 minutes drive from the Villa. Since the new motorway opened from Lisbon it is possible to drive from Lisbon in under 3 hours.


Almancil is 3 km away offering a variety of shops, restaurants and bars, bakers and even the English butcher, there are a variety of supermarkets to choose from to cater for all tastes, post office, police station, several banks and a doctors surgery. Val do Lobo and the luxurious resort of Quinta do Lago (where footballers and TV stars have homes) are each 2km away. Both have beaches, banks, shops and restaurants. The old market town of Loule is 10km away.

Further Details:

There are a large number of restaurants within a 3km radius, varying from simple Portuguese restaurants to Michelin starred establishments and everything inbetween.

  • Notes on accommodation: A cot, high chair and stair gates are all available, free of charge, for those who require them. Beach towels are included, so guests don't need to waste valuable luggage allowance. Outside: The villa is set in a 1500 sq.m. garden with rockeries, Oleanders, Bougainvillea, Mimosa and some pine, fig and fruit trees. A wall of flowers surrounds the private tiled swimming pool (10 x 5 m). There is a newly laid lawn. There is a large barbecue built into the wall and a large sun patio with sun loungers, table and chairs. The shady pergola has a large tiled table and seating area which is ideal for eating afresco on a warm summers evening. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: A maid visits once per week to clean and make beds. There is a good supply of bed linen and towels. We include beach and bath towels for guests to use. Other: The dining area is situated next to the kitchen and has a table suitable for 6 people. There is a patio door leading outside, where meals can also be eaten. This area is shaded from the sun.
