We had a wonderful holiday and thought your villa superb - the best we have stayed in. If you would like to give us, as a reference, on your advertisement please do so - or we would be happy to talk to anyone on the phone.

Mr & Mrs Goddard, Epsom, Surrey.

Our holiday set off easy the way Len organised the transfers etc. The villa is quite beautiful and in a great location, superb views across the bay and only a short walk from Kalkan but far enough away to be peaceful. We loved the large terrace and eating alfresco under the pergola and shaded seating area with BBQ. The swimming pool is quite large, great for swimming. The agent was helpful and the pool man and maids were friendly and kept the villa very clean and tidy. Kalkan is a lovely holiday resort we liked the roof top restaurants and the harbour side with attractive bars. The food is very good and the Turkish wine surprisingly good. We shall be back !!!

"Quality!!! Enough said really

This vacation was probably the easiest to set up we have ever booked. Len's assistance and advice were 2nd to none. I think he covered all the bases and this made for a relaxed stress free stay. The villa was excellent and what a superb view especially from the balcony. Kalkan is a lovely town with very friendly folk and the beauty of it is that it's free from over commercialisation. The food is superb, I would recommend Trio's, great service and the staff are excellent. I would highly recommend staying at this villa. We intend to go again in the very near future.

"A great base for your holiday in Kalkan"

Our first time in Kalkan, but certainly not our last. Chose Villa Güzel as we felt its location offered flexibility - you can relax by the pool, walk down into Kalkan and enjoy all that it has to offer or use it as a base from which to explore all the ancient historical sites and beautiful scenery in this area. We were not disappointed. The villa is well appointed and has all that you need to live.

"Lovely villa in good location"

Villa Güzel looks good in the listing and lives up to expectations. The pool and outside areas are of a really good size, especially for Kalkan, not overlooked and really quite private. There are a couple of nice shaded areas for eating or reading. The pool is a really good size with wide steps in. The bedrooms are also really large and each has its own bathroom which is really essential when travelling with teenage daughters as we did. The upstairs master double has a h

A very good villa in a lovely town

  • 5 of 5

The villa was excellent. Lovely pool and a very comfortable villa. Cleaned daily and the staff are lovely. Enjoyed the walk in every night. I recommend using the top road to the main road. Other roads are very steep. 10 lira for a taxi back. We managed to get a 6 seater to save getting two taxis. The food in Kalkan is a very good standard. The steaks are better than the UK. Unfortunately the agent let us down with the transport from the airport but we managed to get two taxis very easily. Never had this problem before going to turkey. Will probably organise myself next time. The return flight was very late. We left our cases at the Likya spa hotel and used the beach bar below the hotel. They let us use the showers in the hotel for £10 each. Expensive but they did look after our cases for rhe day and provide the towels.

Villa Güzel looked good on the web site and it more than lived up to expectations. What a peaceful location with such lovely views over Kalkan. We liked the nice shaded seated area for reading and sitting under the pergola eating our meals. The pool was very large and our children loved playing on the pool steps. The lounge was very comfortable and the satellite TV great . The WiFi reception was good. We found the Guest Book very useful and the Visitors Book helpful regarding recommended restaurants and particularly the Sunset boat trip which was fantastic. The bedrooms were large light and airy having their own balconies where we often sat and enjoyed a coffee and the views over Kalkan. The upstairs master double had a huge balcony with barbecue and table for six with lovely views over Kalkan .We enjoyed eating there one evening and seeing Kalkan night lights and the sunset but we used the terrace barbecue more frequently. Hakan was helpful and his cleaners and pool man were very likeable and good. It’s about a twelve minute steep downhill walk into Kalkan, we preferred to have a taxi back as they only cost about 15 lira. There were many excellent restaurants and we found the food exceptionally good and particularly enjoyed the Turkish Angora wine . In all we had a lovely holiday in Kalkan at Villa Guzel and would certainly recommend it. Our family are looking forward to returning next year.

Amazing and beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! We love this villa! We've been with two small children (and 4 adults) 3 times now and would definitely go back! The villa is beautiful both inside and out! The views of kalkan bay are stunning and makes staying in the villa of a night time as much of an event as taking the 10 minute walk down to the town and eating out in one of the many amazing restaurants! The service provided with the villa is second to none. Daily visits from the friendly gardener, pool man and maids allow the villa to be kept clean and in working order continually! Len (the owner) was as always very professional, helpful and informative when dealing with our booking and any questions we had. The journey was made easy with pre booked transfers arranged through Len. We couldn't have wished for a better holiday! From the peace and tranquility of Villa Guzel, to the vibrant and varied traditional and modern restaurants located in the beautiful town of kalkan...so much to choose from and see! Will definitely be back...loved, loved, loved it!

Stunning views

  • 5 of 5

We arrived at the villa in the dark and the next morning we couldn't believe the views. This villa is even more beautiful than it looks in the photos. It is surrounded by flowers and the area is very quiet and relaxing. it was very easy to walk into town form here if you can manage steep hills and a taxi back only cost equivalent of £3.

The villa is extremely spacious inside with 4 bathrooms. The choice of TV channels was massive even including movie channels. The town of Kalkan is lovely with we were told over 300 restaurants, we never had a bad meal. The local people are so friendly and can't do enough for you. All in all this has everything you need for a great holiday I would definitely recommend.

Absolutely loved villa guzel and Kalkan. The views from the villa are fabulous and the two balconies both look over the mountains and harbour.

Villa is a short walk into old town Kalkan and the harbour, but taxis are also very cheap so we used them when feeling lazy!

The villa is well managed locally with regular cleaning. We loved our daily visit to check everything was ok - it always was.

The pool is a great size and nice a cool (June time). Lots of facilities in the villa and found the owners wonderful to deal with - they made everything so easy and even emailed us whilst we were there to check we were having fun.

Kalkan itself is beautiful. Lots of bars and restaurants - we are in love and already planning a return visit next year.

Thanks again Anne and Len - we'll definitely be back!

Lovely Villa

  • 4 of 5

We have had a fabulous week in Villa Guzel in the beautiful area of Kalkan. The villa is perfect for couples and families alike. It is well set out inside and outside with a good sized pool. It is well maintained and the villa and pool cleaned daily.

We planned on doing many things while in Turkey but could barely drag ourselves away from the villa to be honest as it has everything you need it was nice to be able to simply relax. However we did venture into town once in a while. A 10 minute stroll down the hill into town we visited the market and had a boat trip both we'll worth it. We didn't have a bad meal but stand out restaurants were Mussakka, Gourmet & Salt and Pepper. The shops were a joy , handbags galore. What did impress me in the town was there was no pressure as we walked through considering restaurants and browsing menus- no one trying to drag us in.

Villa Guzel is exactly as described and set in a lovely area surrounded by similar traditional styled villas but not overlooked. From booking the villa to our return flight home everything went well as the owner Len was so helpful and made it very easy for us. This was our 1st time in Turkey and we do plan on returning to Kalkan and Villa Guzel.

From the Owner

We have been very lucky and travelled the world, we were talking to some friends who were asking what Turkey was like and we admitted we had not been, another friend had and was saying how wonderful it was, we o We simply fell in love with Kalkan, we enjoy the food the atmosphere and the people. We have never regretted buying the villa, it has proved a good investment, but the main reason the benefit of enjoying the love of going out there.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Dalaman at 120 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Kalkan at 500 Metres Nearest Motorway : B420 at 250 Metres Nearest Restaurant : Kalkan at 500 Metres Nearest Beach : Kalkan at 1 Kilometres Car: not necessary

Places Of Special Interest :

Patara Beach, an 18 kilometre-long strip of sand, bordered on its ends by mountains, should not be missed with its gorgeous landscape and great swimming. It is a national park and home to many birds, also the breeding ground of the endangered Loggerhead turtle, and is acknowledged as one of the best beaches in Turkey.

Kaputas, seven kilometres from Kalkan, along the most beautiful coastal road to Kas is the most striking gorge. Plaques on the bridge commemorate the deaths of the workers killed during the road construction. Accessible by 120 very steep steps nestles the most perfect sandy shingle cove and beach. Close by, the Blue Cove is marked by a road sign, but simply look for a small gathering of yachts admiring the spectacle.

Kas, a twenty seven kilometre drive from Kalkan along the wonderful coastal road, is a pleasant working town surrounded on three sides by the mountains. Life centres around the harbour and town square with the usual tea houses, bars, restaurants and shops

One of the most beautiful beaches in Turkey and voted one of the world's best beach in a Sunday Times supplement is Patara beach, 18 kilometers of golden sand, which is reached by car in about 20 minutes or by local bus. The car entrance fee is around £5, but this lasts for one week. The beach's facilities offer hire of sun beds and shades. A small cafe provides good snacks and toilets are provided. It is set amongst a protected historical site which is well worth a visit.

A car is not necessary. We recommend and can arrange transfer from Dalaman or Antalya airports direct to the villa by air conditioned vehicle as follows: Dalaman Car 1/3 people £65, Minibus 4/7 £80, Minibus 8/14 £105 each way.

Antalya Car 1/3 people £105, Minibus 4/7 £135, Minibus 8/14 £155 each way. Taxis are cheap and readily available to and from the villa. Hire a car locally, from £30 a day. Dolmus buses operate between Kalkan and local beaches and towns. Many local excursions available.

Further Details:

Area Description: Kalkan, described as Turkey's best kept secret, is a small, sophisticated resort set on the Turkish Mediterranean Riviera. The town nestles on the foot of the Taurus mountains and was once a small fishing village, it is now a charming holiday resort consisting of cobbled streets, housing interesting shops selling jewellery, carpets and local goods. One can enjoy bartering with the shopkeepers and their hospitality offering of apple tea.

Enjoy a beer at the bars on the picturesque harbour, admire the gullets, the fishing and sailing boats, or hire for the day your privately skippered boat and be taken to the coves for a swim in the turquoise sea, sunbathe, enjoy the food, all at unbelievable value.

Visit the small pebbled beach close by the harbour or the local beach clubs and enjoy the water sports available, such as snorkeling, scuba diving and wind surfing.

Hire a car or join a local excursion to visit one of the many historical ancient sites such as Patara, Xanthos, Tios, a trip to the Taurus mountains or the amazing Saklikent Gorge.

Enjoy mountain walks, climbing, trekking, caving and parascending, have a relaxing Turkish bath or massage to ease away the aches and pains.

In the evening, sample some of the finest food at the harbour side restaurants or those with roof top terraces offering views of Kalkans wonderful illuminated nightlife.

A Sunday Times article likened visitors to Kalkan to those attracted to Tuscany and the Dordogne, we agree entirely, Kalkan is for the discerning holiday maker.

From the Owner

We chose the property because it enjoys a good position over looking the bay, The design is individual, along wiith the other seven on the site and buillt to a very high standard by the most reputable of builders Aslan who owns the Asfiye Hotel and many others. We particularly liked the size of the pool, it is huge and Anne loves her swimming.
