Our experience of this of this property is not a good one.We had constant barking dogs the whole week .I know others have commented on thing needing to be replaced but the seal on the fridge is split and full of dirt (have photo) the only bed that was made up for us to use was full of stains (have photos) the toilet off the bedroom was cracked (have photo) both irons was unusable one had exposed wire where old tape had came away (have photos) the windows are mouldy (have photos)at the end of week pull up the cushion on the sofa incase we had left anything and found old food we also had a plumbing problem at one point but to be fair it was sorted the next day the only plus side this property is the pool the new tv and the new shower room when it finished ! hence why we only used as a base to shower and sleep (in the other beds) and use the outside but not bbq as it was still full from the last time it was used

Owner's Response: Its a shame that you did not enjoy your stay but I cant understand why any of your concerns about the villa were never mentioned to us on your stay, as we did see you many time over the week because you wanted help finding different locations (which we were happy to do). The only thing you mentioned to us was how angry you had been about the hire car you had been given. If these problems had been mentioned during your stay we would of gladly tried our best to sort them.

Stunning Views

  • 4 of 5

Fabulous location stunning views beautiful sunsets, as said before Car hire essential as hill up to property very long & steep, several steps down to property were not an issue.

Maybe could do with tweeking here & there, bedding made brighter but was certainly clean, great that towels provided, TV is dated but we never use a TV on holiday, kitchen well equiped, we broke cork screw and Claire replaced immediately, cooker was clean, microwave clean usable & an extra really.

Beds all comfortable & clean, fans provided in each room extra to the Air Con.

Love the new shower room and you have bonus of toilet & wash basin in double bedroom. Sun beds maybe marked but this I am sure is due to sun lotions etc but you should always lie on a towel as you would anywhere. Outdoor terrace fab and plenty seating for dinning out, again views fantastic.

Pool was great and kept clean, owners live on site but you have complete privacy and sole use of pool. May as said need little up dating nothing major as reflected in the price.

Car essential to shop in local village at bottom of hill, good supermarkets fresh hot baguettes daily, lovely restaurants, bars & cafes, if you have kids the Duck park worth a visit. We used the car to visit El Palo half hr drive gorgeous Spanish village lovely safe beaches and fab fish restaurants. That said all other days spent in peace enjoying the terrace & pool. Maybe should be titled "Spanish Finca" some people expect a huge sparkling modern villa... We expect different as reflects in price and prefer the smaller maybe rustic Spanish feel you have with this property....love it & the location.

Thank you so much & can't wait for our next visit, soon I hope.

Not Good !

  • 1 of 5

When we first arrived the pool looked lovely and the view was magnificent. We had no idea that the steps down to the villa were so deep, it really should have been mentioned in the advert

When we had scaled the huge steps down, it was clear that the sun lounger covers had seen better days, and looked filthy.

On entering the villa we could see it was very tired looking, there was a dreadful smell coming from the 3rd bedroom. Claire & Mathew had explained they had a leak, but it would have been unbearable to sleep in that room.

We were shown how to use TV which was very old with a flickering screen. The oven had seen better days, buttons falling off and filthy, and was expected to light it with a cigarette lighter.

Microwave was discoloured yellow and dirty inside The bed covers had stains on top of the duvets and looked worn out, and to add to the misery huge spiders that looked like a Huntsman was spotted. My daughter who is 18 and her friend started to scrub the cooker, but we decided we don't go away to clean other peoples mess. After a group discussion we decided to leave.

I wasn't going to leave a bad review, however.

I emailed the owners on return home about receiving some monies back as we must have stayed all of 2 hours. Still have had no reply, so here it is.

Claire & Mathew seemed really nice people, it's a shame they don't invest a bit of money into their property before taking peoples money to stay there.

Yes they did come and ask was everything ok? We said fine, but we were not about to get into a bad debate on the first day of our holiday.

In the end we had to find accommodation elsewhere, that turned out costly.

I don't recommend this property at all.

Owner's Response: Did not leave because of the reasons they have stated in review!!! 17th May 2pm, I welcomed them to the villa, they seemed happy and glad they had arrived. (When I receive an enquiry stating they have toddlers or elderly, I always explain the steps. I will now put it on Owners Direct but never considered it a problem to most people). I showed them every room and opened the oven door to show them how to light it. They were constantly saying how lovely everything was. I explained that previous bad weather had caused a leak but was now sorted. The only smell was of paint that was now dry. The lady that was meant to sleep in that room said "its just a slight smell of paint, its fine". After 15 min of chatting I said I had to pop out but myself and Matthew would introduce ourselves properly later. At 8pm we asked how everything was and gave them mine and Matthews numbers for in case they had any problems. Again they said it was absolutely lovely, we talked for at least 20 min. One of the ladies said her family lived near and she normal stays with them. They were all very happy, laughing and content and slowly getting merrier. That night we heard shouting coming from the villa. However renting out the Villa for the past 12 years this can be quite normal once people have had a drink on their holidays. The following day we noticed they had left the keys. We had a look in the villa presuming they had left a note as to why, but there was nothing. In the villa was empty bottles of Bailies, a large bottle of Vodka that was broken on the floor as well as other bottles of alcohol left outside the villa. Myself and Matthew worried something had happened or they had had a fall out. We never received a call or email. So I emailed both of the ladies to see if they were ok. We heard nothing, until the following Tuesday when we received a message from Marie saying "they were not happy with the villa so wanted money back! as they would not like to give a bad review". I was so shocked and upset with this message as it was the first time they had contacted us since their merry night. We did not deserve this bad review.

A little gem with stunning views!

  • 5 of 5

This little villa truly excels with it's outdoor space. The terrace, views and pool are fabulous and the covered pagoda and barbecue area is just right for alfresco dining in the shade. The villa is compact but spotlessly clean. Yes, some things need updating but this is our 4th stay and each time the lovely owners Matt & Claire have upgraded and to be fair, most of the time is spent outdoors anyway. A car is really needed although taxis are available. Oh, and the bed is really comfy! We will be back. This is not luxury but it is amazing value for money.

Super villa

  • 3 of 5

Great villa, 3 good size bedrooms and 2 good bathrooms, living area compact but outdoor space way exceeded our expectations. Well equipped kitchen. Towels were provided, not ripped off as others do charging extra for end of stay clean. Owner met us on arrival very pleasant, live on site but gave complete privacy and sole use of pool.

Fab pool, views to die for and more than enough sitting area with chairs, table and loungers. Lovely big terrace to sit out at night and watch the sunset. Lots of fruit trees in the lower garden and we were told to help ourselves, we had a fresh pink grapefruit every morning, lovely!

We did hire a car and felt it a must although we did not want to travel to a beach we did use the car daily for fresh produce, the road down to town is very steep and carrying shopping back up would be difficult, in fact even without shopping the hill is pretty hard going. But only couple mins by car so we had no problem.

Thanks for a lovely stay and I am sure we will re visit in the future.
