About the Owner

Hi, my name is Richard, I live in Hertfordshire, UK and bought the apartment off plan in 2002, it was completed in 2004 and I started renting the apartment out that year. Since then I have come out to Duquesa at least 3 times a year with my family and/or friends for relaxation and fun. I endeavour to give all of our guests a "home from home" feeling during their stay, whilst offering the apartment at very competitive prices. I look forward one day to being able to stay in No.1 Mikonos Playa for an extended period one day, however work commitments mean that we've been unable to achieve that as yet, so until that time please enjoy the apartment, its terrace and the surrounding area as much as we do throughout the year. Hey guys, if your looking for a great place to holiday, you can't go wrong with Richard ( I spoke on the telephone with Richard - A real genuine nice man.) and his apartment, it had everything you could wish for, I was in the supermarket wanting to buy real coffee and I said to my wife there wont be a Cafetiere in the apartment - On our return I went through the kitchen cupboards - Richard proved me wrong, there it was.

The terrace was something else, it is bigger than my back garden at home.

We have stayed in Duquesa every year forthe past 10 years, and i can say this is the best place we have stayed in over the years, we had the appartment from the 1st November 2010 and apart from the previous person turning the hot water off we had no problems, I wouldnow say that if we cant get this apartment we will not go back untill its available, I would recommend it to anyone going to Duquesa, thank you. Fantastic Apartment

Have stayed in Duquesa before so knew area and apartment location.

It's adjacent to the car park at the entrance to the harbour area, so right in the thick of it, a perfect location.

Apartment was clean and well furnished with everything we needed.

But Spain is about the outdoors - this apartment simply has the largest and sunniest private terrace I've ever stayed in.

Went to the shared pool a few times - sunny, clean and plenty of sunbeds.

Really friendly group around the pool, alot who rent long term / own.

Fantastic apartment, great terrace, perfect location - can't recommend highly enough!!!

Amazing! Couldn't rate it any higher.

The directions we were given to the apartment were very clear and straight forward. The accommodation was exactly as we expected, was very welcoming and clean. The pool was just down the hallway so it was easy to take a quick trip there. Had very quick access to the port, which made outings very easy and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family!

We've just returned from our holiday at No 1 Mikonos Playa in Duquesa, the place exceeded all our expectations, the terrace is just lovely, the apartment itself has everything you'd want for your holiday including cd's, games and a well euipped kitchen. We'd recommend walks to the west, where we found a coastal path and nature resrve and amazing views towards Gibralter and Morroco. In summary the perfect apartment, we'll probably be back next year!

An apartment with a great location.

We have just returned from a great 2 week family holiday at Mykonos Playa.

The apartment is just far enough away from the bustle of the marina, to avoid much noise, but close enough that a 2 minute walk takes you to the centre of Duquesa.

The highlight of the apartment is most definitely the massive sun terrace. Enough room for everyone, with great views over the chaotic junction below, as tourists descend to find one of the limited parking spaces. We spent many an evening watching the world go by.

The apartment is well served and feels very secure. It is very accurately described on the website which is important.

The air conditioning was a god send in the August heat and the Wi-Fi kept the teenager "connected".

With no hotels in Duquesa, it is a relatively small resort made up of apartments. There were lots of Spanish, Brits & Irish holidaymakers. it is a mini Puerto Banus - plenty restaurants to satisfy a 2 week holiday - our fabourite was La Cubanga on the beach, which served the most amazing scallops. The small supermarket across the road is expensive but was very handy for extras. The Mercadona & Lidl were just along the road - the fish & butchery counter in Lidl were particularly impressive.

All in all, a great apartment in a great location....walkable to everything you would need.

I bought No.1 Mikonos because of its location, orientation and terrace, spending 3 times more than I had intended so that I could have the all day sun on its huge terrace and watch the sunrise out of the sea whilst having just a 50m stroll to the marina. Its all been worthwhile, the apartment is everything I it to be and more, the guests love it as much as I do, coming back year after year.

Coast/Beach:

The Costa del Sol is an area in the south of Spain that benefits from exceptionally good Mediterranean weather, with average summer temperatures exceeding 25 degrees and August temperatures regularly exceeding 35 degees. The coastline, full of natural splendour, extends for 161 kilometres and its various beaches range from huge expanses of golden sand to hidden coves with secluded beaches. With an average of more than 300 cloudless days a year, there are endless hours to enjoy the beach.

Travel:

Gibraltar airport is a 30min drive and Malaga an hours drive from Duquesa.

Distances:

Whilst staying at No1 Mikonos Playa you can visit the traditional spanish towns and villages of Rhonda, Casares, visit the mountains and deserts of the Sierra Nevada and even drive along to Gibraltar or take a day trip to Morocco. There are many theme parks for the all the family and most visitors see visiting the millionaires play ground of Puerto Banus as a must only 20 minutes away.

Situated right next to the picturesque palm fringed marina with it’s bistros, bars, restaurants and shops, along with a stunning communal pool and a one minute stroll to the local beaches, the apartment is ideally located for family holidays, golfers and sailors alike. Any change over day is available, if your holiday is back to back with another then the apartment will be available from 4pm and the apartment vacated by 10.30am on the day of departure.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: At Puerto Duquesa the holiday season (and the weather!) lasts much longer than in the UK, however the apartment is priced at rates than mean even in peak season you can have a reasonably priced quality holiday, no profit is made we just cover costs so we can holiday at Mikonos Playa too! There aren't any surcharges just a flat rate and we can recommend discounted car rental as well. November to March (aside of Christmas) is cheapest, £195 per week rising to August at the peak, £650 per week, call or e-mail and we'll give you the details! Outside: The sun terrace is two storeys above ground level and has a southerly aspect, it has views of a small part of the marina, sea views and of the surrounding area, it makes a great location for barbecues and relaxing both during the day and in the evening, you don’t actually need to leave the apartment to have a full day in the sun and a relaxing night. The communal swimming pool is located at the same level as the apartment and has large terraced areas with traditional Spanish tiling and Mediterranean planting, the pool itself is varied in depth and therefore great for all the family and is also south facing. Utility Room: As you would expect the utility room has a modern washing machine and drying facilities for your use. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The apartment is cleaned top to bottom in advance of every stay, the linen and towels are high quality and are renewed every year, our prices are inclusive, unlike some other holiday homes, everything is included within the price apart from beach towels. Other: The apartment is newly furnished with a modern theme, it has its own secure underground parking accessed through electric gates, the sun terrace has a lovely Mediterranean feel with tropical plants and has a large pergola, reclining sun loungers & bbq.
