Spacious Ground Floor Apartment (90M2) With Shared Pool

Updated: 17-Oct-2016
Apartment in Frigiliana (Calle la Huerta), Nr. Nerja, Costa del Sol - Close To Centre Of Pretty White Village Of Frigiliana, 10 Mins Coast

This modern ground-floor apartment is in a small complex off a steep pedestrian street, on the edge of Frigiliana's historic quarter. This hilltop village is in the eastern Costa del Sol, just 15 minutes from the coast. Frigiliana is celebrated for its narrow cobbled streets, hidden courtyards full of flowers, and tiny squares opening to dramatic vistas of the sea and nearby hillsides. The town abounds in restaurants, cafes, and bars, all within a few minutes' walk, and at prices to suit every budget. For a two bedroom flat, it's very spacious, with an 11-metre (27 foot) deep lounge, which (just) has a sea view. Because of its ground floor location, it stays cool in the hottest weather. The pool is just a few steps away on the same level, but beyond a locked gate for safety and security.

About the Owner

We are both semi-retired doctors living in Warwickshire. We love travel to various parts of the world, including very exotic spots, but Spain remains a favourite. Over the last ten years we have enjoyed exploring the different cities and regions of Spain. We appreciate the climate, the culture, the food and the wine. We are also fascinated by the history, the art and the exciting mix that modern Spain has distilled from the different cultures of the past.

Guestbook comments from the owner

'Never stayed in such a well appointed holiday home...particularly appreciated all the guidebooks.' Christine Curle, Exeter, June 2010

'A surprisingly spacious apartment, much larger than our friends' accommodation that week week. It stayed comfortably cool despite extremely hot weather.' Niall Magennis, Ardee, Eire, September 2012

'We love Frigiliana and have returned many times for its unique charm. Having the pool so close to the flat but behind a locked gate is very handy with a small child. It’s also great there are so many restaurants within walking distance.' The Burton family, Surrey, 2013

'A great place to chill out.' G. Mackintosh, London, 2012

Hello,muchas gracias!!!!

I have been many times in frigiliana and I always like to stay in another house or apartment.

This flat was easy to find and the access was also very easy.I like that very much. The flat is almost halfway the stairs but the flat is at the groundfloor.Easy.Everything what you need is in the flat.I think really everything. You won't miss anything.Everything was clean and nice. There are many books about andalusie and there were also many nice walking routes.I really liked that because I am a walker. It was hot but I walked most of the routes.I really liked every minute of my stay in your flat and in frigiliana.Once again MUCHAS GRACIAS PARA TODO y hasta luego.Best regards from holland Ine

Our annual home from home.

  • 5 of 5

We have holidayed almost every year for the last 15 or so years at this wonderful apartment. As the review title states, this truly is home from home with every creature comfort & facility that you could wish for. The apartment is always presented immaculately clean. Should you ever encounter a problem the agent trusted with looking after the apartment is close to hand & is so happy to help. The pool & sun bathing area is well maintained. We always visit outside of the school holiday periods so find that the pool area is very quite & relaxed. The village is absolutely beautiful with numerous quality places to eat.

The nearest town, Nerja, is a short drive or bus ride away. The town is a lovely place to visit with great bars & restaurants as well as a good place for shopping. Our next visit to our 'home from home' is in June of this year & it can't come soon enough.

Great location, excellent value

  • 5 of 5

Four of us (mum, dad and two teenage girls) spent a very pleasant week in Frigiliana over Spring half term. Very nice, comfortable, modern flat, very well situated whether for lazy days in the town enjoying superb views and excellent restaurants, short trips down to the coast, or exploring further afield, such as a drive to nearby towns or a bit further to Granada.

Granada was an excellent day out and well worth the drive, though I'd be tempted to spend a night there to allow more time to explore, especially if including the Alhambra without wanting to hurry.

Frigiliana is totally charming and very easy to get to by car from Malaga airport. Having travelled around quite a lot when we went, I'd really like to return for a lazier visit next time, though perhaps doing some more walking in the lovely hills around the town.

There are lots of very good cafes and restaurants to try in the town, some with spectacular views over the rooftops and down to the sea. And very good value. The weather in February was pretty decent too, mostly warm and sunny.

So, it's a big thumbs up from us. We'd certainly go back to Frigiliana and would book the same flat again, without hesitation.

From the Owner

We fell in love with Frigiliana at the end of 2002, when we explored the village and found the complex being built. It's a very pretty town, with its white houses tumbling down the hill, all the winding byways and courtyards full of flowers. The town is away from the hustle and bustle of the coast, but you can still get to the beach in minutes. As it's set on a hill there are dramatic views and cooling breezes in the summer. And it's less than an hour from Malaga airport!

From the Owner

We're on the ground floor and partly set into the hill. This means that the place remains cool even on the hottest day. The ceiling fans help and quite frankly we find that air-conditioning isn't needed. Likewise, it stays warm in the winter. That's a good time to come over from England as it's cool enough to go on walks, in the countryside and in the national park just minutes away. Even in winter, it's unusual not to have several bright sunny days in a week's stay The flat is our second home, not just an impersonal rental property. So there are books on the shelves, CDs and DVDs to enjoy, and we get feedback that these aspects are much appreciated.
