We had such a great time. Your place is truly amazing and we can't say enough good things about it. We hope to be back sometime again in the near future. Thanks again! Sincerely, Marisa

Just wanted to say thanks - we had a great time in Deia! the house was lovely and perfect for us, we will definately recommend your place to friends! Lisa - London

We had the best time, everything was fantastic. We loved Deia and its restaurants and we thought your house was perfect, so comfortable and looks brilliant. Can't wait to go back. John and Gail - Essex

We had a lovely time and the house was everything we'd hoped for. This was the third time we've stayed on Son Canal and was the nicest and best equipped house with everything we could have wanted. We shall certainly be happy to stay there again if we return to Deia which we almost certainly will. Judith

Casa Margarita was a delight; you have thought of everything to make the traveller feel at home. The quality of the furnishings, decor and equipment available is top class, and the location idyllic. I had dreamed of lying in bed with the shutters open looking at the mountains and listening to the birds, and was not disappointed. The addition of gentle church chimes and goat bells was a bonus! Carole.

Truly a gem

  • 5 of 5

Deià is a beautiful village set in the mountains yet right by the ocean. This home is a gem, comfortable, well decorated and with spectacular views of the mountain. We ate most of our meals on the lovely terrace facing the hill top church which is lit up at night. Gorgeous! We were there mostly to cycle and the location is perfect for many of the climbs. Thank you Jo and Neil for renting out your home. It truly feels like a home and not just another rental.

We hope to be back! :)

Beautiful house, lovely stay

  • 4 of 5

This home is very lovely! My first views were like heaven--looking out on the church, the hillside, and the incredibly beautiful town. Jo was very helpful; the home roomy and well set up. There are a few things, however, that will help travelers know what to expect and not be disappointed. First, the Air Conditioning is needed in the summer, and is best used by room with the door closed...it didn't work on numbers of days when we came home from our outings, and we had to call the manager, and figured out that the circuit breaker system must be shut down for five full minutes, then, with a restart, it will work. (Not in the house instructions.) Jo thought it might be from over use, but that wasn't the case as it happened when we'd been gone all day and nothing had been on. Make sure you're clear on how to do that. Secondly--small thing--bathroom faucets don't reach over the sink and water splashes across counters, so you need extra towels to mop up counters after bathroom sink use. ( No big deal, just ask for extra towels.) The biggest "issue" we had was noise. It's really a townhouse and sits in a complex with about 20 other town homes (connected), in a small canyon. The canyon echos noise. About 200 yards across there is a kind of quarry where stone is being harvested, and digging, banging, sawing is going on all day long--complete with a caterpillar digging machine with a beep-beep-beep-echoing alarm--so that means you can't hang out on the lovely porch and rest during the day. Work goes on until 7 pm. Then, the next door neighbors were sawing tile outside all day too. On weekends the tiny town fills up with twenty-somethings from neighboring towns, and a whole camp of folks were at the school below the house (about 100 yards) having a drum circle 'til 1 in the morning, and then began again at 5 am. Bring your earplugs!! The good news is if you close the bedroom door, use the A/C and earplugs, you'll be OK. The town itself is magnificent. WONDERFUL places to eat and drink, and lovely rocky coastline. There is NO BEACH per se...a rocky outpost where people sun, and we enjoyed that and had a great lunch. The best beach was in Soller, a short 20 min drive. NOTE: If you're not a confident driver you won't want to drive here. The roads from Deia north are tiny and very windy with no shoulders, with buses on the lanes too. There's good bus service from Deia to Soller, tho. Overall a great stay, loved the place and the town.

Owner's Response: Dear JoAnneh. With regards to the A/C we did have a problem and as of yesterday have had to have a whole new system installed. We have not had a problem with this before and had no idea what to do so we asked you to try turning it off at the mains as we were told that this can work. Things do break. We also asked the manager to come and help. With regards to the bathroom taps, these were installed when we bought the house. We tend not to soak the sinks when using them!! With regards to noise and may I say we have never in 15 years had anyone complain about this. This is a working village and locals do need to earn a living, our neighbours were having work done on their property and it was as you said just for one day. All the houses and walls in the village are stone built, so I imagine some stones were being broken for that use, but I can assure you there is not a working quarry in the middle of Deia. I have never heard of camps of teenagers playing drums all night obviously it must have been something going on in the village. There is actually a rule that all live music must end at midnight, you seem to have been unfortunate to have had this incident happen during your stay, but I can promise you this is not a nightly occurrence. This is a village of musicians, artists, poets etc and they do celebrate this fact. There is absolutely no problem with driving to Soller and the roads are not narrow and dangerous as coaches and buses drive round them, so it's very easy to drive a car on them, we have never heard anyone say they are dangerous in all the years we have been coming here, they are very smooth and you can see the most wonderful views. Also there are many places to pull in. We are really sorry that you had a few upsets during your stay and are very sad you felt this way. Many thanks for booking with us anyway. Regards Jo.

We had the most amazing time in Deia.....what a beautiful place, with breathtaking scenery, and gorgeous places to eat, drink and chill out.

Casa Margarita is fantastic, and felt like home to us from the minute we arrived. Very stylishly decorated and everything to hand that you might need. I would highly recommend this property, and we hope to return soon !

Dream holiday

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay at Casa Margarita and we wouldn't choose to stay anywhere else in Deia.

We found the whole booking process and relationship with Jo and Neil very easy and nothing we asked was too much trouble for them. Always quick responses to any queries.

The house itself is perfect! Very well equipped and decorated. We also love the situation of the property- easy walking distance of the town, and it's bars and restaurants.

There really is nothing better than waking up and opening the bedroom window to the beautiful view. Actually maybe there is!! Sitting in the evening sun, sipping sangria in the garden!! A dream holiday- thank you.
