A little bit of heaven

This is our second year staying in this apartment and we absolutely love it. The wonderful view from the balcony at the front of the apartment and the uninterrupted view of the Mediterranean at the back of the apartment make the climb up al the flights of stairs worthwhile. We have stayed in Port de Soller many times over the years, originally staying in another apartment in the same block but lower down, so we didn't have any view at the back of the apartment. We love Port de Soller and we are quite happy just to amble around, go for a swim, and sit on the balcony and watch the boats going in and out. It is our idea of heaven!! This is the best apartment we have ever stayed in. It is extremely clean and well provided for and we will certainly go back again.

Beautiful Place

This is an amazing apartment in a delightful fishing port. The apartment is set looking down over the bay with spectacular views. The balcony is a wonderful place to watch the world go by. The bedroom also has wonderful views out to sea with fabulous sunsets. The apartment is very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped for a self catering holiday. The 4 flights of stairs are great exercise but would be very challenging for elderly people. Port Soller is full of character with lovely places to eat. It's a great base to walk and or cycle from. The old trams run up to the village which has a lovely traditional feel, magnificent cathedral and a great place to people watch. I have holidayed in self catering apartments all over the world but this one is special and I hope I am lucky enough to be able to return.

Port de Soller

The apartment we had for a week was very nice with superb views from the fourth floor (top) of the building - the port/marina/bay to the front and out over the Med from the rear window. You need to be able to manage all these stairs though. Apartment was clean and bright, with all you would need including a dishwashwer, and you were able to spend time chilling out sitting on the balcony taking in the view and activities going on in and around the bay. Port de Soller is a vibrant small town with lots of shops and restaurants and with opportunites for walking and cycling.

Location

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The apartments are a 5 minute walk from a safe, sandy beach with paddle boats and reclining chairs. There is an underwater diving school in the port and holiday makers can hire sail surfers and there are boat trips along a beautiful rocky coastline to other beach resorts and coves.

Travel:

The airport is a half hour drive by car. Car hire isn't necessary. If need be, there are local hire companies in the Port. There is a bus to Palma every hour from 7.00 am to 9pm and a regular service on a delightfully festive train that follows the edge of the sea to the town of Soller through orange and lemon groves. There is also a train to Palma from Soller. An English speaking driver called Toni can pick you up at the airport:contact direct taxisoller@hotmial.com

Distances:

The town of Soller with its beautiful stone houses and lovely patios is 5 minutes away by car and has an old market selling fresh fish which you can also buy off the fishing boats in the Port.

Further Details:

These apartments are wonderful winter sun traps in autumn and spring. Walking in the surrounding Soller mountains along well market paths and highly recommended route information is available with booking.

The waterfront at the Port is lined with pavement restaurants and bars offering local wines, holiday cocktails and a delicious variety of cuisines. Outside the front door, the Santa Catalina restaurants offer a rich variety of specialityh Mallorca dishes. There are gourmet take-aways, supermarkets and a chemist and medical centre nearby.

The perfect Mediterranean climate of the Soller valley has nurtured the production of the finest oranges and lemons in the world. A relaxing holiday is assured, gazing at boats gliding in and out of the harbour, people watching by the water or in the cafes of the square of Soller. Relaxing on the beach or following one of the many picturesque paths in the Sierra D'Tramuntara mountain range that surround the lovely Soller valley.
