Villa close to Portimão, Alvor and Lagos in a peaceful and healthy location, with Mountain views and within easy reach of western algarvian beaches


Villa Paradise is a lovely family villa with its own walled and fenced garden (which provide a high safety and privacy to the guests) and a sunny pool surrounded by a lawn and lot of plants. The villa is located in one of the most peaceful and nice estate of the council of Portimão, called Serra e Mar (in English "Mountain range and Sea") which means the villa is located between the western beaches of Algarve and the fresh air of the mountain.The nearest town is Portimão (10 minutes) which boasts large beaches and a lot of shopping and entertainment facilities. It is to the some distance from the typical and beautiful village of Alvor. The villa is planted in a plot of 1850 Sm and it self has the building area of 330 Sm with large rooms: 4 bedrooms (3 en-suite) each with nearest 15 Sm; a living room (50 Sm) close to the pool; a comfortable and pleasant lounge for the pool area; a kitchen (20 Sm); a laundry (8 Sm) with an open terrace (15 Sm), 4 bathrooms (two of them with bath and the other two with shower. All of them have washbasin and bidet). The villa has a barbecue and a big terraces and a large garden with some romantic spaces, one of them with small ponds with mountain views.The plot also have a space with fruit trees (figs, almonds, lemons, pomegranates, plums,quinces...). Parking for 4 cars. Inside the villa have all the amenities you need: Hi-Fi; TV with a lot of channels in different languages,DVD, and sound system. The kitchen has all the appliances (cooker, oven, microwave, coffee pot and coffee machine refrigerator/freeze, dishwasher, and all the crockery). The bedrooms have air conditioning. The laundry has the wash machine the iron / ironing board, and clean tools. Outdoor of the estate and close you can find some restaurants.

About Jose and Maria

We are a couple of two Portuguese teachers living and working in Portimão. We have twin boys who finished recently their university degrees. We fell in love with SERRA E MAR fourteen years ago when we discovered this quiet and wonderful “big garden”, which is a residential estate so close the towns (Alvor, Portimão, Lagos) and the beaches of Alvor, Praia da Rocha and Lagos. We bought the plot and we invite an architect to design in our way the house and the garden in order to live there when retired and meanwhile to rent it to holidays makers. On the last ten years we have rented and the villa has made the best impression on every guests. More than 60% of the guests rent again the villa for their holidays.

This property have a special significance for us because we follow all the steps of its building, since the choice and purchase of the plot until the architecture - planning and design all the spaces, inside and outside. In the design of the villa we try to give her a personality, without break with environment. Beyond this, the villa is for us a special place where we felt good and have been happy. where we saw our sons growing up.

What makes this villa unique

The beauty, the peace (inside the estate only you listen, in the day, the gardeners doing their job. You have no bars, no restaurants or shops inside), the harmony of the houses (all the villas are similar in architectonic terms) and the green of the place (Algarve is too much dry and yellow) turn it a special kind of oasis with excellent views to the mountain of Monchique. Beyond these benefits the estate where the villa is located is central and close for the best beaches and places of the western of Algarve. The villa itself has an attractive architecture: inside you have delimited the bedrooms (all ensuite) area faces south, from the sitting room, the kitchen and laundry. All the villa have a strong exposition to the light. Outside the villa presents a design which respects the best regional style, mainly in the water fall roof and the double eaves. The garden around with its 150sm of lawn and more a 400sm with different trees and bush give the perfect frame to the villa.

Purpose built poolside barbecue and cover bar. Sunbeds, table, chairs and parasols. Also a large roof terrace ideal for sunbathing. A pretty and large garden (1200sm) with view point for a panoramic views and two small ponds with nice fish and frogs. Utility Room: Washing machine, dishwasher, Iron and ironboard. Wifi. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Cleaning service one time a week including the changing of Bed linen and towels. All linen and towels are provided except for beach/pool towels .

The villa is a short drive from several, different and beautiful beaches located at Alvor (15 minutes): Praia da Rocha (20 minutes); Praia do Vau (20 minutes); Meia Praia and all the beaches of Lagos (25 minutes).


Faro airport is approximately 45 minutes via motorway. To enjoy your holiday a car is essential. Hire cars can be arranged at competitive rates at the airport.


The nearest supermarket is approximately 7 minutes driving.

Further Details:

Portimão is an important commercial centre town with local shops, banks, restaurants and boutiques. There are a lot of large supermarkets with all kinds of food. Praia da Rocha, the most famous beach in western Algarve, has an excellent selection of bars, restaurants and a casino. This area is fairly lively in the evening. There are night clubs and taxis are easy to pick up an anytime.
