Edificio Porto Marina. Spacious second floor apartment in residential block, close to all amenities in the popular resort of Vilamoura. The property is equipped to the highest standard, with modern kitchen and bathroom. Two minutes to the marina, 10 minute walk to either of Vilamoura's two beaches. Mini golf and post office just across the road. Two well stocked supermarkets are a 5/6 minute walk away. Ample free car parking at the front of the building.

About Neil

Apartment owned jointly by Sue and Neil Collinson from Leicestershire, UK. Both now retired, Neil was in financial services and still does bookkeeping for a few people on a regular basis. Sue retired from teaching in August 2008 which means we are not restricted to school holidays any more when we decide we need some sun. We have 2 children who are both grown up and have left the nest.

Why Neil chose Loule region

We originally holidayed here in summer 2002, our first visit to Portugal. We loved its location, atmosphere, people and facilities. It is right in the centre of the Algarve and only a 20-25 minute drive from the airport. We returned in October that year to earnestly look for an apartment somewhere close to the marina which would be rentable, yet provide us with a bolthole. Having looked at a few we found this one which had only just come on to the market and never regretted it.

What makes this apartment unique

2 minutes to the marina (no taxi fares.) Swimming pool on-site. 6 golf courses close by. 2 superb beaches within 10 minutes. Quarteira fish and veg. market a real bonus and 2 supermarche’s very close by. We have and will continue to improve the facilities within the apartment to make it a home from home for anyone who stays here.

It is only a 10 minute walk to either of Vilamoura's two beaches. Pleasant sea-front walk to the older resort of Quarteira, with its daily fish and fruit/vegetable market. Quarteira also has a large general outdoor market on a Wednesday situated at Fonte Santa.

Travel:

Vilamoura is only 20/25 minutes by car from Faro airport. Taxi's, buses and car hire facilities are all in or around the arrivals hall.

Further Details:

Long term winter lets (November to March) available at special rates, but electricity and water charges will be payable, based on consumption, on departure.

Notes on accommodation: Ceiling fans have are installed in the lounge and bedroom. Kitchen completely modernised. Outside: Balcony overlooks the garden/swimming pool at the rear of the building, yet is quite private. It has the usual furniture with parasol. The pool area has plenty of shade and a large grassy area. There is a separate child's pool. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included. Maid service and towel change for 1 week stays Longer stays include a bedding change. Other: The unit in the lounge contains hanging/storage space for guests sleeping in there.

A wonderful apartment, in a perfect location

This was our second stay in this apartment and had booked again for next year before we'd returned home! The apartment itself is exceptionally clean and tidy, and has absolutely everything we needed for our stay - UK TV channels, wi fi, books, access to the use of bikes, towels (including beach towels) and a fully equipped kitchen. The shared pool is surrounded by lovely soft grass, whilst there are sun beds available we didn't feel the need to use them. This year, the pool bar / cafe was fully open, which meant we barely had to move from our sunny spots around the pool. It's a very short walk to the Marina (a couple of minutes) and we were spoiled for choice for places to eat and drink. We received an information pack prior to our stay, containing everything you need to know about the apartment, complex, and local area and the owners are very friendly and helpful throughout. Can't recommend this property enough, and can't wait to go back next year!

Great location

We have had a wonderful holiday, the apartment is in a great location, only minutes walk away from shops, marina, and mini golf!

The apartment is a real home from home, clean and well equipped , with everything you could need. The apartment complex and pool were nice and quiet, so was very relaxing.

A Beautiful Apartment in a Super Location

Recently enjoyed a fabulous stay in Neil and Sue's apartment. It is lovely and comfy, and beautifully decorated and furnished.

A lot of careful consideration and love has gone into equipping the apartment so that guests feel like they are in a home from home.

Even beach towels are provided. The cleaning team are to be congratulated for the superb service they provide, and the airport taxi service which was booked for us was excellent - prompt, polite, and friendly.

The apartment is excellently situated to enjoy Vilamoura's amenities, just a few minutes walk to the supermarket, marina, and a great choice of restaurants.

The pool area is brilliant, just 100 metres from the apartment and has a grass area for sunbathing, and a shaded arbor equipped with tables and chairs for just relaxing and reading (check out Neil and Sue's library).

Many thanks Neil and Sue for making our holiday a really wonderful and happy event. Well done.

Our second stay and won't be our last

Our second stay in Neil and Sue's apartment was equally as good if not better than our first (which was in May). I cannot stress enough how attentive they are, airport taxi's booked for you, soap and essentials including beach towels all provided (and we replenished before we left out of courtesy). The cleaning team and the Handyman provide a fabulous service as well. Everything you could wish for all in this one wonderful apartment including air con and ceiling fans. 1.5 miles from the beach, 100 meters from the pool and onsite cafe, 2 minute walk to the marina and supermarket. We did a lovely 5.5 mile walk through Vilamoura taking us up past Laguna, Millenimum and Victoria golf courses but you have the fantastic perk of free bike passes if you prefer to cycle, however if you are a golfer it is a 5 minute drive to the majority of the big courses. A totally fantastic location that we have truly fallen in love with. We are just working out when we can next go back as it is becoming home from home. Obviously it was a lot busier and noisier than in may on an evening but out on the main road and Marina rather than the apartment complex itself. The only thing I would say is you can't have balls or inflatables in the pool and they are quick to tell you so if you do and sun loungers are available (5 euros for a full day) but only allowed on the hard surfaces which provides no shade, I didn't mind being a sun worshipper but my partner sat in a plastic chair in the shade, this is no reflection on the apartment and Neil and Sue. Good apartment and well located.

It has good conditions but it has only a small problem, there is no dishwasher, but besides that everything was great.

Owner's Response: NEVER AGAIN will I rent out to a group of individuals of the same sex/gender. These four young males, (and others no doubt) absolutely trashed the apartment. Items have gone missing, others have been broken and the rubbish they left made it look like a council tip. The guests arriving on the day they left (31st July) were absolutely appalled and had to wait for a large team to remove the amount of rubbish and clean the apartment before they could move in. Never have I had guests treat the apartment with such disrespect. It makes you wonder how they treat their own home. Other owners take note

Check the diary on the web-site in the first instance to establish availability. Then telephone or e-mail to ensure that there has been no last minute alteration. A deposit of 50% will be payable on booking, the balance being payable two weeks before departure. A refundable deposit of £50 (or 70 euros) will be payable with the final rental.

Changeover Day not fixed.
Bookings taken for a minimum of 1 week normally but shorter periods would be considered out of season or at short notice. Mid-week to mid-week bookings are perfectly acceptable. See 'Further details' for longer term lettings.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week. Stays of 1 month or more from November to March enjoy a substantial reduction - telephone Neil for the rates for longer stays. Any price quoted for long stays will not include services, which will be payable locally on departure.
