Edificio Porto Marina. Spacious second floor apartment in residential block, close to all amenities in the popular resort of Vilamoura. The property is equipped to the highest standard, with modern kitchen and bathroom. Two minutes to the marina, 10 minute walk to either of Vilamoura's two beaches. Mini golf and post office just across the road. Two well stocked supermarkets are a 5/6 minute walk away. Ample free car parking at the front of the building.

About Neil

Apartment owned jointly by Sue and Neil Collinson from Leicestershire, UK. Both now retired, Neil was in financial services and still does bookkeeping for a few people on a regular basis. Sue retired from teaching in August 2008 which means we are not restricted to school holidays any more when we decide we need some sun. We have 2 children who are both grown up and have left the nest.

Why Neil chose Loule region

We originally holidayed here in summer 2002, our first visit to Portugal. We loved its location, atmosphere, people and facilities. It is right in the centre of the Algarve and only a 20-25 minute drive from the airport. We returned in October that year to earnestly look for an apartment somewhere close to the marina which would be rentable, yet provide us with a bolthole. Having looked at a few we found this one which had only just come on to the market and never regretted it.

What makes this apartment unique

2 minutes to the marina (no taxi fares.) Swimming pool on-site. 6 golf courses close by. 2 superb beaches within 10 minutes. Quarteira fish and veg. market a real bonus and 2 supermarche’s very close by. We have and will continue to improve the facilities within the apartment to make it a home from home for anyone who stays here.

Notes on accommodation: Ceiling fans have are installed in the lounge and bedroom. Kitchen completely modernised. Outside: Balcony overlooks the garden/swimming pool at the rear of the building, yet is quite private. It has the usual furniture with parasol. The pool area has plenty of shade and a large grassy area. There is a separate child's pool. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included. Maid service and towel change for 1 week stays Longer stays include a bedding change. Other: The unit in the lounge contains hanging/storage space for guests sleeping in there.

A wonderful apartment, in a perfect location

This was our second stay in this apartment and had booked again for next year before we'd returned home! The apartment itself is exceptionally clean and tidy, and has absolutely everything we needed for our stay - UK TV channels, wi fi, books, access to the use of bikes, towels (including beach towels) and a fully equipped kitchen. The shared pool is surrounded by lovely soft grass, whilst there are sun beds available we didn't feel the need to use them. This year, the pool bar / cafe was fully open, which meant we barely had to move from our sunny spots around the pool. It's a very short walk to the Marina (a couple of minutes) and we were spoiled for choice for places to eat and drink. We received an information pack prior to our stay, containing everything you need to know about the apartment, complex, and local area and the owners are very friendly and helpful throughout. Can't recommend this property enough, and can't wait to go back next year!

Booked to go back already - wonderful

What a fantastic week we have had staying in Neil and Sue's apartment in Vilamoura (6th - 13th May) and our first trip to Portugal.

Neil and Sue are so attentive and provide the most wonderful service answering all of our (hundreds of) questions, sending information packs out, replying to emails quickly and arranging our airport transfer.

The apartment is clean and tidy with everything you need for a self catering holiday, perfect for a small family too as there is a bath as well as shower which a lot of apartments don't have. Lots of books, info on the local area, sat TV and kids outdoor toys are there to be used (and looked after). The balcony gets the sun all day pretty much.

We used the free bikes and went on a wonderful bike ride around Vilamoura for my partner to admire the Golf Courses (its very expensive to play). We also walked to Pinhal golf course which was about a 20/25 minute walk.The walk and cycle paths are very well maintained and they even provide exercise apparatus along the walkway with instructions on what exercises do to which I though was marvellous.

The swimming pool area is clean and tidy with a shower and childrens pool, however if you want shade there isn't much on the grassed areas as the sun is on the pool area all day long.

There is a poolside cafe run by Dave and Jan where they do drinks, snacks and ice creams and there are also toilets by the pool.

The complex is very well secured with electric fobs and keys to get you in and out so no lucky lucky men to hound you at all!

The stunning Marina is literally a 2 minute walk and the beach is about 10/15 minute walk. We didn't eat at the marina (its expensive), we ate at the little complex over the wall from the pool and highly recommend Bragancan Mar (traditional Portugese food, home cooked fresh and cheap) and Natraj Indian which was superb.

There are 3 supermarkets close by for everything you need we opted to use Jafers as they had a wider range including your lilo's inflatables etc.

Aquashow Park is only 15 minutes in a taxi and the crazy golf is literally a 5 minute walk across the road. There is loads of places to book excursions on the marina and a small arcade for children too.

If you want to have a short journey from the airport to resort (20/25 min taxi ride) and then not worry about how to get from A to B as everything is on your door step Vilamoura is your place and Neil and Sue's apartment is the perfect spot to stay.

We cant wait to go back!

Super Well Equipped Apartment Close to Marina

Had a wonderful stay in this very well equipped apartment. 5 mins walk down to the marina but such a quiet spot. Lovely pool area and lovely lady running the pool snack bar. This apartment has everything you could need plus pool towels - such a good help when only taking carry on luggage. We were meeting up with friends and ate out for all meals so only used the kettle but for anyone wanting to make use of the facilities, it has everything! Well done Neil - such a lovely clean apartment.

Lovely apartment in good location

The owners were extremely helpful all the way through the booking and the apartment is as just described. Has everything you need for a self catering break lovely and clean and even had clean and towel change during our stay and we were only there 5 nights. Perfect location for quick and easy access to the centre. Pool bar run by a lovely English couple food was lovely and very reasonably priced. Would definitely consider booking with the owners again to stay here.

Visited in April 2017. Great location, walking distance to beach & marina. Apartment has everything you need (even milk for a brew on arrival). Very clean & tidy. Plenty of helpful info sent when booked & even booked a local friendly taxi to pick up & drop off at the airport

It is only a 10 minute walk to either of Vilamoura's two beaches. Pleasant sea-front walk to the older resort of Quarteira, with its daily fish and fruit/vegetable market. Quarteira also has a large general outdoor market on a Wednesday situated at Fonte Santa.


Vilamoura is only 20/25 minutes by car from Faro airport. Taxi's, buses and car hire facilities are all in or around the arrivals hall.

Further Details:

Long term winter lets (November to March) available at special rates, but electricity and water charges will be payable, based on consumption, on departure.

Changeover Day:
Bookings taken for a minimum of 1 week normally but shorter periods would be considered out of season or at short notice. Mid-week to mid-week bookings are perfectly acceptable. See 'Further details' for longer term lettings.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week. Stays of 1 month or more from November to March enjoy a substantial reduction - telephone Neil for the rates for longer stays. Any price quoted for long stays will not include services, which will be payable locally on departure.
