Villa Helene is a spacious villa situated, together with its own private swimming pool, barbecue and patio, within its own walled grounds in a quiet residential road at Binibeca. Binibeca is a quiet and most attractive resort, some 8 miles from Mahon and the airport. It extends from a picturesque fishing village to the west and as far as Cala Torret, an attractive hamlet to the east, and includes a marina as well as its own beautiful sheltered and sandy beach.

1 double bedroom and 2 twin bedrooms (1 of the twin bedrooms is large and sleeps 4, having adult-sized bunk beds as well as twin beds and a fully equipped en-suite shower room).

Moveable full sized 9th bed, as well as a travel cot, 2 high chairs and a camp bed suitable for a child if required.

2nd fully equipped bathroom (including a full sized bath and shower).

Fully fitted modern kitchen (2001) which includes a gas cooker, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave.

A spacious and comfortably furnished open-plan sitting room and dining area, central fan and moveable gas heater if required. We have recently added unlimited WIFI and Freeview TV including a DVD player together with about a 100 DVD's to satisfy most tastes, including children.

About the Owner

I am a retired Banker having worked in the city for all my working life.

I am married to Helene and have three daughters, one of whom has given us three lovely grand daughters.

We fell in love with Menorca on our honeymoon, some 40 years ago, and promised ourselves that if we were ever able, we would like to have a holiday home there.

Some 5 years later we found that we were able to buy a plot in Binibeca and shortly afterwards, built Villa Helene. We have been visiting this lovely (and still largely unspoilt) Island ever since.

Helene and I are happy to share our holiday home with family, friends and guests. We only ask that all visitors treat the Villa like their own home, as we do.

I wanted to write and thank you for the hire of your lovely villa. We all had an amazing time using the pool, exploring the garden with the children and playing with the endless number of buckets, spades and watering cans! The villa is incredibly well equipped which made cooking, washing and general day to day 'toddler and baby' jobs so much easier then anticipated. Clare June 2012.

Another fantastic stay at Villa Helene!

We had another fantastic stay at Villa Helene this summer with our two boys and are definitely going to book again next year. The villa was immaculate upon arrival and the owner includes a welcome pack of essentials including milk, tea, water, bread etc which is a really thoughtful touch - and really handy! The villa is ideally set up for a family and has 3 bedrooms, a spacious living area, a TV with lots of dvds to choose from and a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine which were an absolute godsend! The pool was really clean and a lovely temperature (our 2 boys were hardly out of it!) and there were lots of buckets, spades, beach balls, beach mats etc in the villa for our use, and plenty of clean towels and linen to use. The pool is really secluded too - perfect for a bit of topless sunbathing ;-) We ate out at the local restaurants - they are very family friendly and reasonably priced. We also visited the beach a few times (a 15 min walk away), which is really charming and clean - not a horrible high rise building in sight! There's also a beach bar - which was an added bonus :-) All in all a really relaxing enjoyable holiday, I'd highly recommend.

Fantastic Stay at Villa Helene, Binibecca

We've stayed at Villa Helene several times now and will keep going back! Its very spacious with all mod cons (incl dishwasher and washing machine - essential if you have kids!) and the pool is great - really secluded. The restaurants down the road are very child friendly and the beach is lovely - including beach bar :-) The villa is always immaculate upon arrival - and includes a lovely welcome pack of essentials - a very thoughtful touch! All in all a great place to have a relaxing and easy holiday - I highly recommend.

A tranquil, peaceful haven

Villa Helene is in a lovely peaceful location, yet handy for shops and other amenities. The villa is a little dated, but very well-equipped and has everything needed for a family holiday. It is spotlessly clean, and the pool is well maintained and regularly treated. The owner could not be more helpful and even organised car hire, which was really useful. I would recommend the villa wholeheartedly to anyone.

Mundesley, a coastal village near Cromer in Norfolk

San Patricia is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac and has a wonderful secluded terrace overlooking its own pool. We stayed there in spring, but each evening we had our meal outside on the terrace and then sipped Menorquin wine whilst gazing at the sea. The pool was big enough for a proper swim and the villa is very well equipped, including a brand new kitchen. The entire property is very well laid out and well fitted, and was thoroughly clean and very well maintained. Recommended!

My wife and I fell in love with Menorca on our honey moon. We chose Binibeca as the ideal location because it was small yet already well established, had a lot of character, the locals were friendly and anxious to show off their English, and most important - there were no hotels within 3 miles. A safe and sandy beach was a 'prerequisite' as were the closeness of two supermarkets, several restaurants, bars and shops. Binibeca had all the requirements for a quiet and relaxing 'villa' holiday. For the more energetic and/or adventurous - there is a small marina with water sports. Tennis and squash nearby, and even cricket a few miles away! Binibeca is only 15 minutes drive from the airport and the same distance from Mahon the capital.

The beach is a 7/8 minutes walk.


Mahon airport is 8 miles.

Although not essential, we recommend the hiring of a car in order to explore this lovely island with its many sights and remote beaches. Please ask for a price list (which includes a 10% discount) with full details (there is nothing to pay until you take delivery, either at the airport or at the villa).


The hamlet and marina at Cala Torret are 5-7 minutes walk. The airport and the capital Mahon (Mao) are 15 minutes away by car.

Further Details:

The Island of Menorca is quiet, unspoilt and the least commercialised of the Balearic Islands, yet it has every modern facility for a real 'get away from it all' family holiday. Measuring only 35 x 9 miles, it has numerous beaches, coves, bays and pretty harbours awaiting discovery around its rocky indented coastline. There are several excellent birdwatching regions and the undulating landscape also offers many delightful walks and tours to its prehistoric sites and places of historical interest. The capital, Mahon, stands at the head of a magnificent harbour (a favourite mooring place for dozens of beautiful luxury yachts). The British, who ruled the island for 70 years, have left their mark with Georgian houses, tartan folk customs and gin! Binibeca is one of the original and most attractive resorts on the island and, apart from its magnificent beach, there is also a small marina where a variety of water sports are available, including an excellent scuba-diving and windsurfing school. There are 2 tennis courts for hire at the bottom of the garden. Within 8 minutes walk of the villa are several fine restaurants of all standards, bars, shops and 2 supermarkets. A further 5 - 10 minutes walk there are several more restaurants and bars, many with satellite TV. The area is well developed for self-catering holidays and many of the restaurants are ideal for children. Details of restaurants, places of interest and various maps and information are available at the villa. There is wifi internet access available at the Manager's office within 5 minutes walk from the villa.

We enjoy the fact the villa is located in a quiet residential road rather than a claustrophobic complex. We are fortunate enough to own our own swimming pool rather than having to share with other villas. The garden is now fully established and offers complete seclusion. Everything needed for a villa holiday is within easy walking distance.

  • Notes on accommodation: The villa, together with a 'Welcome Pack' is prepared for your arrival. All linen is supplied (except beach towels) and is changed weekly. Sorry, no pets allowed. Outside: The lounge opens out on to an extensive patio which surrounds the 9 x 4.5m swimming pool and purpose-built barbecue. Pool house, patio furniture, terraces (part shaded), secluded roof terrace, outside shower. The walled garden consists mainly of shrubs and mature trees.
