Villa: Cala D'or, Mallorca, Balearic Islands - Direct Access to the Sea, 5 minutes Walk from Centre and Beaches, WIFI

This charming house is one of the original waterfront properties to be built in the old section of Cala d'Or in a quiet area with large rooms, many terraces and spectacular views. It is an old house which is reflected in the price, but is full of atmosphere and charm. It has 6 double bedrooms and 5 bathrooms (one bathroom was renovated 2014), top floor master bedroom and bathroom with own terrace, middle street level floor has two large bedrooms, two bathrooms, one en-suite (new) and one smaller bedroom, and the ground pool level floor has one bedroom with en-suite shower, one small double bedroom and another shower leading to the bar area and pool. large swimming pool surrounded by terraces and gardens, steps into the sea, overlooking the entrance to the harbour and out to sea. Always something new to see as the boats come and go from and to the Marina. The center of Cala D'Or with it's shops, bars and restaurants is a mere 5 minute walk as are the two closest beaches, the Cala D'Or and Cala Gran which means that a car is not necessary for this property as everything is close by. The house has WIFI. Beach towels are provided.

The house is divided into three levels. The top floor houses the master bedroom with bathroom ensuite and balcony, the main floor has three bedrooms, two bathrooms (one ensuite),dining room, two living areas and the kitchen. The ground lower floor has the bar, two showers, two bedrooms, the pool, porche, gardens and steps down to the sea. There is central heating. The property is not a new house a fact that should be taken into consideration hence the reasonable price . It is charming, comfortable and superbly located with fantastic breathtaking views.

Outside:Stunning views to the harbour entrance and out to sea. Very large swimming pool, pool bar, barbeque by the porch, outdoor furniture, gardens, sunbathing areas. There is direct access to the sea.

Utility Room:

Fully equipped laundry room with washing machine.

Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service:

Linen change is done weekly. Included in the price: cleaning on arrival/departure and weekly linen change. BEACH TOWELS ARE NOW PROVIDED so the towels provided in the bedrooms are for bathroom use only. Extra cleaning can be ordered and paid for locally.

Fabulous setting in a convenient, quiet location

Prior to the trip we were given clear instruction on how and when to pay, directions to the villa and what to expect. Since then I have had my breakage deposit returned so everything has been smooth and efficient.

The villa is large and spacious with plenty of different rooms and terraces. It directly overlooks the sea and I was told by a local it is rare to find a 'front line' villa available for rent. The views are seriously stunning and such a pleasure to laze by the pool or dine outside.

It is an older villa so it comes with the quirks and characteristics you would expect - water pressure can be a bit funny, the en-suites are compact and its decor is quite traditional in places. It's not an ultra-modern place with mod-cons but it is well equipped.

It's a short, flat walk into the centre of Cala d'Or and the local beach. Cala d'Or food provisions can be a bit samey but with a villa in a great location we were more than happy to eat in some nights.

The only things to be aware of is that 2 of the rooms are fairly small twin 'box rooms' and these are not on the photos - probably alright for kids. The other thing is that the lowest floor at pool level is below ground from the front of the house so was a bit damp when we had the villa in spring - it will be fine in summer after the winter rains have dried out.

Palma International Airport is at 60 km. from Cala D'Or, a mere 45 minutes by car. Car hire is not essential for this property as all is within walking distance. Transfers from and to the airport can be organised through Wendy.

Further Details:

15 walk minutes to yacht club, 4 minutes walk to restaurants, shops, cafes and church. Cala Mondragó Natural Park beach is at a 15 minute drive and the superb Es Trenc beach at 25 minutes by car. Santanyi markets on Weds. and Sat. are a 10min drive. And Felanitx with it's Sunday market and San Salavador monastery are 20 minutes away. Waterparks are close to Palma. Zoo in Porto Cristo. Caves in Porto Cristo.
