La Sabina is a beautifully clean and well maintained modern complex of privately owned apartments. Coves Noves, has the reputation of being an exclusive area. It is a fairly small village set in the north-east of Menorca consisting mainly of a mix of privately owned villas and holiday homes in small complexes. It is a quiet area suitable for all ages and is ideal for couples, families and groups alike. However, it is within easy reach of the livelier resort of Arenal, with its superb beach.

Delightful apartment with stunning views of coastline, Very well equipped has literally everything you want and more.. even has a good selection of books & DVD's. Quiet location in lovely area. Owner gives lots of local information and details of how to get to apartment and lots of other tips & advise, excellent at customer service. Resort has some restaurants on the beach which I would recommend we ate there several nights, very friendly and accommodating with menu. Shops do not open early in resort. The caves were stunning although a little expensive to get in 8e but you do get a drink and fantastic photos of the sea etc. Will definately return in the future, feel we have found a little gem of tranquillity.

Owner's Response: Angela, Thank you, that's a great review ! Very well equipped - thank you. Yes, we had the kitchen refurbished recently and put in things like an updated TV. Oh, by the way, in the off peak season, the 'Spar' in Coves Noves, does open at 9:00am. We do tend to go into Arenal if we're up early ! This year 'Romani's 1' opened at 8:30am and just a short distance around Arenal on the north side 'Romani's 2' opened at 8:00am. I think all of them open earlier in July and August. Restaurant wise, we agree ! There is one we use regularly (you'll know it . . . with the panoramic view over the beach), mainly for evening meals, with their choice of a menu del dia or from the a la carte, but we have been known to take a coffee break there on the sun terrace ! Extremely lovely staff and lovely with children. So, pleased you found your 'little gem of tranquility' !

Excellent place, excellent views

My wife and I stayed at the apartment from late July to early August 2013.

It is a lovely apartment in a nice, small & quiet group of apartments. It is very well equipped and has all you need for a self catering holiday. The great bonus is the view from the gardens and terraces - it is absolutely amazing, plus the pool is right outside for when it is too hot.

The place is a little bit of a walk up hill from Arenal/Coves Noves, but as long as you are moderately fit, it isn't a problem. Plus, if you get too hot walking back you just fall in the pool when you get there!

We were mightily impressed with the place - so much so we have booked to return again in 2014.

Actually, we also feel very pleased to say, each year, people do tend to re book, mostly mentioning to us, as you have, the stunning view, the private garden and the pool being so close. By the way, for other readers, for example, those people with young children with buggies, there is a more gentle hill behind the apartment ! And although it is not essential, a lot of people do tend to book a car anyway. As a general observation, as well as couples of all ages, as far as families go, we do tend to have all age groups of children stay at the apartment. Thank you again for all your lovely comments and for taking the time to write a review. We feel so lucky to have been able to buy that particular apartment.

Holiday in Coves Noves, Menorca

This is the first time we've stayed in Coves Noves, having spent the last 2 years visiting Arenal d'en Castell. It is a beautiful area and the bay has a fantastic beach, which is a 15 minute walk away, with lovely sand and it's great for swimming. The apartment was very spacious with a large patio area to the side, a lawn and a smaller patio area in front of the living room, with beautiful views towards the sea. We felt that, out of this complex, it was the best apartment, as it had great views, lawn/garden/patio area and was just steps from the pool. There wasn't air conditioning, but there were fans and we had reservations about how we'd manage the heat, as previous holidays had been in May/June when it was cooler. However, the apartment remained fairly cool and it was no problem at all, even when temperatures hit 30 degrees during the day. There was a cupboard filled with pool and beach toys, wind breakers, etc. It was also helpful the system of each visitor leaving any remaining tea, coffee, loo roll, etc.

The garden ovelooked the pool, which was accessed by a few steps. The pool was shared by a few apartments, although we sometimes had it to ourselves. The garden and grounds were immaculate and the pool was extremely clean.

There are also bars and restaurants just a few minutes walk away at the bottom of the road, with a child play area. We'd also recommend the Sa Gavina Restaurant in Arenal, a trip to Fornells, Mahon, Es Castell, the beach at Calle Galdana and the water park at Calle en Blanes.

The listing description was accurate and the owners were very helpful beforehand, giving tips of places to go, car hire and the information pack they sent was very comprehensive covering arrival, departure, location map and directions. We had a few queries prior to booking and departure and the owners always came back to us very quickly and it was a pleasure to communiate with them. We hired a car for the duration and travelled all over the island - we all look forward to returning to Menorca and having visited the rest of the island would still return to either Arenal or Coves Noves - we love it!

When we looked around the area originally, we really did like Coves Noves and completely fell in love with the view from the apartment. Oh, like in the review next to this one, there is a quicker way to the beach, behind the apartment (3/5 mins in the car & we've walked it in 8 mins !). Many thanks again for all the details - don't think we needed to write a description of the apartment - we could have just used yours !

Vamos a salir de nuevo en abril y ahora que sabemos donde está IKEA vamos a echar un vistazo a sus colchones con el fin de una actualización! Hormigas . . Sí supongo que todas las zonas del Mediterráneo bien puede obtener, pero esta es la primera vez una crítica ha mencionado y hemos estado alquilando por 16 años. Hemos descubierto que si mantenemos los alimentos en la nevera y otros alimentos en recipientes y mantenemos limpias las superficies de trabajo y el piso, mientras estamos allí, no tenemos ninguna. Nuestro hijo es genial en barriendo alrededor! De lo contrario, estamos muy contentos de saber que usted pensó que el apartamento era bonito y que todo lo demás era perfecto! Gracias.

Owner's Response: Gracias Sara para la crítica. Sí, cuando compramos el apartamento nos hizo particularmente como el jardín privado, las vistas y la piscina. Tratamos de mantener nuestros precios tan bajos como podamos para ser competitivos. Utilizamos el dinero del alquiler no sólo para pagar las facturas, el mantenimiento, la decoración, la limpieza, la lavandería y los préstamos, sino que también lo usamos cada año para tratar de mantener el apartamento actualizado. Y escuchamos los comentarios de los clientes. Por ejemplo, el apartamento originalmente no tenía horno, pero un par de clientes nos recomendaron poner un horno, así que lo hicimos. Por lo tanto, sí, gracias por sus comentarios, vamos a seguir actualizando las cosas como el dinero entra en juego. El año pasado pusimos en un nuevo congelador de nevera y una nueva lavadora. El año anterior, pusimos ese horno junto con un nuevo convector / vitrocerámica, así como un nuevo fregadero de cocina. El año anterior tuvimos todo el apartamento decorado. Este año hemos reemplazado los armarios de cabecera con unidades IKEA nuevas. Y listo para el próximo año hemos puesto en Wi-Fi gratis. No hemos puesto nuestros costos de alquiler para arriba por un número de años ahora y los guardará iguales otra vez para el año próximo. Nos quedamos muy contentos de saber que te gustó la ubicación y que te gustaba salir y. Gracias de nuevo.

We bought our apartment in 2000. We were looking for an apartment in Menorca that could offer us a private garden with a pool close by, in a quiet area yet near to a resort. We really consider we were so lucky to find the one we got! Not only does it have its own garden and it does have the pool next to it and Coves Noves is a quiet settlement, yet next to the resort of Arenal, but it also has magnificent views of the sea and countryside as well!

Further Details:

20 minutes by car from the capital of Menorca, Mahon/Maó.

Small shopping/refreshment centre in the village within walking distance with a couple of shops including the nearest grocery shop and a few bars/restaurants. More shops in near by Arenal. Larger supermarkets can be found in Alayor and Mahon.

Many and varied activities in the area include walking, cycling, driving, diving, windsurfing, boat hire, golfing, horse-riding, nature reserve visiting, ornithology or simply lounging around on the numerous beaches which vary from quiet and small through to large.

Cancellations
(These are our terms, contrary to Owners Directs standard terms, please note we do not give a 100% refund for a cancellation more than 30 days prior to a booking commencement, our terms are below)
In the event of a cancellation, a cancellation fee will apply as follows:
Between date of receipt and 57 days notice - 25% (or the agreed deposit figure which ever applies) of the total cost)
Between 43 & 56 days notice - 50% of the rental cost
Between 29 & 42 days notice - 75% of the rental cost
Less than 28 days notice - 100% of the rental cost

There is plenty to do for families and couples and groups alike. Some days we love spending time on our own around the pool and apartment. Some days we like to spend with others on the beach at Arenal. Some days we like to visit the more secluded beaches, for example Pregonda near by. And some days we love wandering the streets of Mahon and Cuitadella. James has been going since he was six months old and we have found that there has been ample for him to do as his needs change as he grows older. My parents come out regularly also, so, equally, there is always something of interest for couples. We have built up some lovely relationships with some of the Menorcans, especially in for example the local restaurants and shops and have always found a welcoming atmosphere here.

Communal swimming pool, split in 2 – a large pool and a paddling pool for children -with sunbathing area. The pool is exclusively for the use of 'La Sabina' residents.
