Apartment in Son Parc, Menorca, Balearic Islands

Son Parc is a stylish, modern low-rise resort set amongst pine trees leading down to the best beach on the quieter, northern side of the island. The sandy beach is kept clean and safe for family swimming and can be reached by steps 200m from our apartment. Supermarkets, bars, restaurants and a golf course are nearby, all within walking distance. Menorca is perfect for relaxing family holidays. It is all rather low key compared to the other Balearics with sheltered bays, sandy beaches and many mediaeval towns and villages. Mahon airport is a 20 minute journey by car.

About the Owner

My wife and I live in Essex near London and have two grown up children. We bought the apartment in 1990 after holidaying on the island the year before. We fell in love with the place. When we first bought it our children were 13 and 10 and now they come out with their partners.

We share the apartment with my business partner who is married with a grown up daughter.

Menorca is great being only 2 hours by plane from our local airport, Stansted and then only 20 mins by car from Mahon to Son Parc. It's a very green island, like Cornwall in the sun!

The local beach is superb, just 5 mins walk away and there's a golf course nearby.

The only change that I can say that I've seen in the years we've been in Menorca is it's cleaner, neater and the roads are excellent.

Lovely relaxed location

A great place to be based for exploring the lovely island. The apartment was well equipped with everything we needed. It was really clean and well maintained. The pools are excellent - clean and clear. We had our two young grandchildren with us who absolutely loved both the pools and the beach which is just a stones throw away. We found a couple of lovely water parks within driving distance which kept them endlessly amused. The relaxed atmosphere of the area is perfect if you want a quiet holiday - not really a place for party goers! The apartment has its own parking space - I wouldn't recommend going there without a car if you want to make the most of the area. That said, there are supermarkets and restaurants all in walking distance. The beach is safe with very shallow water for a fair distance out. We were surprised at how windy it was while we there - discovered a kite surfing beach close by at Cala Tirant - would have taken kit if we had realised! We had great communication from Ray before the visit with helpful directions for finding our way there.

Nearest Golf : son parc at 1 Kilometres Nearest Beach : son parc at 100 Metres Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

100m to steps down to beach. We are the nearest to the beach from the complex. There is a bar/restaurante at each end of the beach.

Travel:

Mahon airport is a 20 minute drive on the newly rebuilt north road.

Car hire is recommended but not essential. A local bus stops nearby and a taxi to Mahon is approximately £30 one way.

Distances:

About 7-8 miles to nearest town , Mercadal and Fornells a pretty fishing village 3 miles away.

Further Details:

There are a few restaurants shops and supermarkets within walking distance of the apartment.

  • Notes on accommodation: Sorry, no pets. Outside: Large private patio with table, chairs and sunloungers and a brick-built barbecue. There are 2 swimming pools and a short tennis court set in well maintained gardens. Dedicated car parking space in front of apartment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen are included and changed weekly, beach towels not included. Property is cleaned before new arrivals and halfway through a 10 day or more stay.
