About Hermy Mochon

Villa Agustina is owned and looked after by the Mochon family. Antonio a retired carpenter and his wife Agustina bought the land about 40 years ago and built the first Cortijo "La Ponderosa". As well as a summer house the family used the cortijo for keeping animals and growing fruit and veg. When Hermy (their eldest daughter) met Adam (Bristol, UK), they decided to start letting it out for holiday rentals. This proved so successful they then decided to divide the land and build an entirely separate house also with its own pool - Villa Agustina! Both houses and gardens have their own pool and garden as well as private entrances (nothing is shared).

Hermy and Adam look after the bookings.

Hermy Mochon purchased this cottage in 1970

maravilloso estancia en villa agustina

  • 5 of 5

Great !

  • 5 of 5

The villa is full of charm, very quiet, with a very beautiful garden and a very nice pool. Cool oasis located near a natural park, with a clear view of the surrounding countryside. The owners are welcoming, friendly and attentive to our needs. Definitely recommended.

Parfait !

  • 5 of 5

Tout est parfait : maison agréable et bien équipée, jardin verdoyant et ombragé, sans vis à vis, piscine propre, localisation idéale au calme dans le village et proche de Grenade et d'autres sites et enfin propriétaire aux petits soins des vacanciers.

Great villa!

  • 5 of 5

Our Villa was wonderful. Would really recommend it for a family. Nice views and private pool. Lovely garden. We really enjoyed ourselves. Padul is close to Granada. The Spanish roads are big and new and fast. It only took us 30 minutes to get to the coast.

The house is in a quiet area, the distance to Padul is short and there are supermarkets and restaurants in the village.

We had a great holiday.

  • 5 of 5

We had a great holiday. The house and the garden are beautiful. With enough shape. I hope to come back next year.

The only thing, which I hope can be changed, is the empty building next to the house. It takes away the sun in the morning and there staying hundreds of pigeons in it.

But, I liked it, and I am sad that we have to go in a few hours.

Car: recommended

The beaches of Costa Tropical are under 30 min drive away.

Airports. Granada airport - Easyjet have recently started flights from Gatwick and Manchester. The airport is small and car hire options might be more limited, but it's only 20 minutes away. Malaga Airport is 1.5 hours away by car, and Almeria is 2 hours drive.

Although there is a good bus service to Padul, car hire is strongly recommended to allow you to explore all the area has to offer.

Travel times by car.

Costa Tropical, 30 minutes.

Granada and the Alhambra, 15 minutes.

Ski resort, 40 minutes.

Further Details:

Granada is a beautiful city with a rich cultural heritage from its Moorish past. A vibrant city with many squares and narrow lanes with shops, tapas bars and restaurants.

No visit to Granada is complete without seeing the Alhambra Palace and the Generalife gardens. The monument is extremely popular at any time of year so we recommend you book well in advance.

Padul is the nearest village In the Lecrin Valley to Granada. The rest of the valley is made up mainly of pretty white villages surrounded by olive, almond and citrus groves. A beautiful area - perfect for a drive, a walk or a spot of lunch!

The Alpujarra - a unique mountainous region south of Granada. The Moors persisted here longer than anywhere else in Spain. This is reflected in the small white villages made up of flat-roofed houses. Villages in the high Alpujarra (Pampaneira, Capilieira, etc) are particularly worth a visit. Trevelez, one of the highest villages in Spain is famous for its ham.

La Laguna de Padul - La Ruta del Mamut (the mammoth route) is a series of walks in and around the wetlands. There are wooden walkways and hides for observing the waterfowl.

The area is ideal for walkers and naturalists as there is a great variety of wildlife - higher in the Sierra Nevada wild boar and Spanish Ibex can be seen.
