A beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

We spent four nights at La Serenella and we all loved it. The property feels very special and we felt privileged to be allowed to make it our home for a few days. Giada and Bruschetta were charming and welcoming. We enjoyed visiting Lake Garda and Verona during our stay but we also spent a lot of time at the villa. The kitchen is very well stocked with crockery and equipment for self catering and the pool, although a little walk away from the main house, was a fun addition for the children.

  • 5 of 5

We loved just every part of our journey with La Serenella, from the first planning of the trip, such considerate & lovely hosts and helpful to a great extend to the actual time spent there and saying good bye. Effortless with so much fun. We loved it there. We thank the whole amazing family and lovely Bruschetta for the best time ever. We will be back. LOVE niki & the whole team.

The West Wing_heavenly!

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful holiday, the West Wing is a stunning property, steeped in history but so comfortable and inviting.

The cucina is a great place to gather and the dining room caters for big groups. We decided to avail of Narina the chef who prepared a beautiful apperitivo for us on the veranda and an amazing 3 course meal of traditional dishes, so delicious!!

Set in the middle of the vineyards, we enjoyed walks and cycles in the local area and a drive to Lake Garda only took 20mins. Verona was also as close and the opera was spectacular.

The owners are so helpful and accommodating with lots of local advise and recommendations.

This was such an amazing holiday I would go back in a heartbeat!

What a privilege

  • 5 of 5

What a privilege to stay in such a beautiful, historic house - it really is as grand and impressive as it looks in the pictures. Drinks in the evening sun in the loggia were a special pleasure. We went to visit the Villa Rotonda in Vicenza, which is of course stunning - but La Serenella is very nearly as beautiful on the outside (and a lot nicer on the inside!) The main first floor has a series of grand reception rooms with original painted wooden ceilings (two of which are now the principal bedrooms) and downstairs there is a well-equipped kitchen with a traditional feel. The configuration of beds and bathrooms was a little tricky for our party of 9 adults and one teenager (including the single room only being accessible either through the triple room or through a shared bathroom!) but Giada was very accommodating with our requests to move beds around to make things easier. And anyway, in such a beautiful house we didn't mind the odd compromise. We had not realised from the pictures that the pool is above ground; we would have preferred to be able to sit round the pool at ground level and watch the fun, but it didn't matter too much. We agree restoring the tennis court would be an excellent addition, though in fact two of our party did manage a slightly eccentric knock-up on the court. We didn't get to the dai Butei pizzeria as it is only open in the evenings but it looked nice. We went twice to the Locanda del Nane near the church and very much enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Being within walking distance of the village was a great advantage - yet in the garden of the house you can feel you are in the country with views to the hills and vineyards. But by far the best thing was staying in such architectural splendour - an exceptional and memorable house. Thank you.

la serenella - great italian geatway

La serenella

We just returned from our fabulous vacation in north Italy and our dreamy stay at La Serenella.

We were a family of ten and occupied all the rooms but still had a feeling of privacy. The first floor rooms are very spacious and luxurious and second floor rooms so comfortable and welcoming.

The grounds are serene and just what you would expect from an historic residence. Sitting on one of the benches or on the veranda with a cup of tea or preferably great local valpolicella is the dream of any romantic an. We could actually imagine the 18th century family living there.

We found all we needed in the local stores for everyday living and even did some shopping in the lovely boutiques nearby.

We all agreed that the jewel in the crown was the lovely Cardini family. We met Giada on our first arrival and though we were late she accepted us warmly. She showed us the surrounding area, and if you ask me, if you just follow her recommendations you are guaranteed a true Italian experience!!

We met Mrs. Cardini and Giada again on our trip to Verona. They both have "inside tips" to shopping and eating and drinking there!! If you can – just follow the and you will have a great vacation.

Our only regret is that we did not have more time.

We hope everyone who stays at La Serenella has a great experience as we did.

We thank the Cardini family for all their help answering all our questions and being so welcoming.
