About this property

Luna Landing #79 is a mountain chalet style home in a forested setting, overlooking a 12 acre fishing lake in a resort called Pine Mountain Club Chalets (PMCC). This chalet is privately owned and operated, providing easy and prompt communication. There is a community dock at our chalet. Community jon boats are provided around the lake for fishing and riding. There are many amenities including a nice swimming pool, playground, ping pong, tennis, horseshoes and others. High speed internet is provided. For pet owners: One or two dogs accepted with a $30 pet fee per night. No cats permitted. When registering, click on the "Travelers" box, then select “Pets” “yes” (and also confirm the number of adults and children). Please send a note to owners while booking to give breed, size and age of dogs as we reserve the right to approve pets and maintain the high quality of our home. Pets must be confined in a crate at times when owners are not in the chalet with their pets.

The 1 mile walk or bike around the private lake is a delightful experience, with the many views of nature throughout the property. On the walk, you will pass community areas for basketball, volleyball, ping pong, mini golf, tennis, and a lovely swimming pool.
For fishermen, the lake is stocked with bass and bream, and there are fishing boats provided. We provide paddles, several life jackets, ping pong, badminton, putters and golf balls, horse shoes, and a basketball. (Bring your own tennis and fishing gear).
The area around this property is full of great things to do for all ages. Callaway Gardens is an amazing natural resort, described elsewhere in this write up. You may drive your family through the Wild Animal Safari and feel like you are on an African adventure.
Warm Springs is a beautiful little town with wine tastings at their local winery. There is much to learn about the Franklin Roosevelt era, with the Little White House, and the Springs he loved. Roosevelt State Park is built around the largest mountain outside of North Georgia, Pine Mountain, and there are many scenic spots and hiking trails. The stables offer riding around lakes or up mountains.

After a visit to Luna Landing, you will be relaxed and refreshed, and reconnected to Nature.

Master bedroom has a King bed and a nice connecting full bath. Second bedroom downstairs has two twin beds and a nearby small bath with shower. Upstairs there is a bedroom with a queen sized bed and full bath with a custom shower.

Celebrating 60th Birthday with the Family

We had the best time! House was clean and very cozy. Loved the outside screened porch. A few of us took naps out there on the porch. We grilled out, fished, took a long walk around the community, and enjoyed all the flowers blooming. Went to Calloway Gardens, Nutwood Plantation, and La Grange for brunch. Everything was so close! Great weekend.

Calloway Gardens/Great Wolf Lodge

Our kids were staying at Calloway Gardens and Great Wolf Lodge. We reserved this house for ourselves and our 87 year old parents. The location was perfect as it was close to both resorts. The parents stayed in the house and enjoyed beautiful lake views with sunsets. We really enjoyed the wood burning fireplace. Kitchen is well stocked and there are starter kitchen and bath supplies provided. When left alone for a couple of hours one evening, my Mama texted for more firewood and she was kindly accommodated. Beds were comfortable and showers nice. Lots of room and house was well laid out with master suite on bottom floor. The owner's were great to work with before, during and after our stay. We had a perfect stay. Thank you John and Lynn

Beautiful chalet in a perfect setting

From the time we arrived, everything we experienced was accurate as described by the owner and previous guests. A peaceful setting steps from the lake, and and cozy/comfy chalet that was clean and well appointed. The back porch was our favorite, as well as our morning walks. We will return for sure!

Relaxing

The property was very good. Very noisy when walking around the house. A lot of squeaks in the stairs and floors. But it is an older house and its understandable. Not a big deal. There were two things why I didn't give a five star rating. One, having to give your names, ages, number of people staying, text the the owner when you get there and when you leave, was a little too much. And when my son and girlfriend were in the boat, one of the office personnel came down and yelled at them because they didn't have their life vests on. They had them in the boat just not on. My son was in the wrong but she yelled that if you're caught again without them on they would be banned from the lake and possibly from our stay. That is very rude. Like I said, my son was in the wrong but being that rude about it was uncalled for. Our stay was great and we even caught some fish.

Lynn Luna and her husband John Wilson, are from the Mobile Alabama area, are recently retired and living in Brevard, N.C. Lynn is an artist and shows her work in private showings. John is a retired CFO for a manufacturing company in Mobile. John and Lynn love to swim, walk and bike. They have a tandem bike, and love to ride around PMCC or through the 12 miles of off road bike trails in Callaway. They love to dine at the Carriage and Horses Restaurant in Pine Mountain, and when there is live music love to ballroom dance. John and Lynn still enjoy the feeling they get upon arrival in Pine Mountain to their little piece of paradise.

Why they chose this property

For John and Lynn, this is coming to the mountains. There are great views from the Roosevelt Park HQ building and they always go there to enjoy them. One never tires of Callaway Gardens and it has been part of the family traditions for many years. Several family members have had weddings at the Chapel in Pine Mountain, which is a beautiful stone and stained glass structure situated on a mountain stream. There is nothing like going there to picnic on the rocks between two and four on Saturday and Sunday and listening to the organ give a concert of the favorite hymns of the South.

What makes this property unique

Luna Landing will assuredly make you feel at home. There is a warmth and spaciousness throughout. The views of the lake under the tall hardwood and pines are wonderful. To be able to walk outside all around the lake and not often see a car, and watch the sun filter through the trees makes us smile every time we come to our home. After staying here, we think you will want to come back again.
