SAND Luxurious Tranquility on a Private Beach In A Protected Marine Environment

Crescent Beach has received the 2017/18 Certificates of Excellence and has never received a rating of less than 5 stars from our guests. SAND is a home away from home - a 2100 sq.ft. ground floor apartment built in 2015 with 3 bed/bath with bedrooms 2 and 3 being convertible to either KING or 2 x TWIN beds, open living, dining and kitchen area with superb beach and sea views. Perfect for families who like quiet, remote living but with many amenities within 30 minutes driving. A second apartment, SKY, is on the upper floor and offers similar amenities. The interior is modern, tastefully decorated and well equipped for cooking and entertainment. Kitchen appliances include gas stove, microwave, double door fridge/freezer, dish washer, combo washing machine/dryer. All lighting within both SAND and SKY is LED and high efficiency central air units are easily controlled from a simple thermostat. Doors are equipped with "open" detectors which will switch off the air conditioning if a patio door is left open. Our goal has been to try to conserve energy and use it efficiently for the comfort of our guests. Master bedroom features king bed, second and third bedroom features Twin beds which can be converted to King. cots are available on request.

There is a pool, courtyard with barbecue and eating facility. The Games room is equipped with pool table; table tennis and dart board.

The home theatre is comfortably equipped with bean bags and chairs. There is a large selection of DVDs.

Situated in a protected zone, the coral beach is a turtle nesting site and opens onto a 200 x100 yard bay with living coral and a low-lying reef about 100 yards out. Typically, more than 500 baby turtles leave the beach for the Caribbean Sea every year. Many of our guests have witnessed hand release by us of turtles which were left behind in the nest. The coral beach has both sandy and rocky features which vary as wind and wave direction shift. Off the beach is the best snorkeling to be found close to the shore in Grand Cayman.

A variety of top local restaurants are within 10 minutes driving and one of Cayman's best diver operations is just 5 minutes away.

SAND being at ground level features direct access to the beach from the patio. SKY is very elevated with the front patio facing open countryside and the ocean-facing balcony being each 15 feet high and tempered safety glass balusters form the railings to ensure a superb view of the ocean and reef even from inside the apartment.

For larger families or for special events such as weddings or family reunions, Sand and Sky together provide six bedrooms in total for a maximum party of 12 persons. And with just under one acre of sandy grounds and tropical gardens, it is a perfect site for the wedding itself.

Paradise!
The property was fantastic! Very nicely furnished & well equipped. Outside we had our own personal bay & beach-great for snorkelling, pristine coral & angel fish. The pool was also nice & there are kayaks for use. Absolutely idyllic! The owners are also very friendly & welcoming.

Peace and tranquillity
If you enjoy relaxing on the ocean without crowds or the hustle and bustle of the west side of Cayman, Sand is a wonderful quiet place to vacation. We found the snorkeling to be some of the best on the island, just be prepared to walk over a rocky bottom for about the first 20 feet. Paul and Fay Anne are great hosts and we enjoyed getting to know them.

An excellent property in an excellent beautiful location. Anything that you might need was provided. The hosts were so very welcoming and friendly and gave us many suggestions about activities. We would not hesitate to return here in the future. Sometimes we give suggestions for improvements or additional amenities, but honestly can’t think of anything in this case.

Great East-End Getaway!
If you don't want to stay in the hustle and bustle of George Town this is the place for you. We enjoyed the entire time. There is so much to do all around the island so I highly recommend renting a car and exploring. We probably circled the island three times while we were there. Paul and Fay Anne were wonderful hosts with lots of knowledge of shops/restaurants and other recommendations. Our group definitely recommends this property and if/when we visit in the future we will be reaching out to them again.

Serene and beautiful
Our short stay in this lovely home with the beautiful view was perfect. We stayed in the "Sand" which was the lower level of this clean, spacious, comfortable home with a deck that led right to a private beach and gorgeous view of the water. It had every amenity you could possibly ask for. Paul and Fay Anne were perfect hosts who provided us with all the information we needed regarding the house, the amenities, restaurants, activities and more both prior to and during our stay. They were also very friendly, as were Connie and Brent, the guests who were staying in the "Sky" above us. They all made us feel comfortable and welcome from the moment we got there. It is a bit remote and requires a car to get to 7 mile beach and the tourist attractions, but that is part of its charm. If you don't mind driving a bit, it is worth it for the beauty and serenity of the surroundings. There are several restaurants and beaches within a short driving distance of the house. We hated to leave after just five nights but hope to return some day when we can stay longer.

Brought up in Guyana, England and Ireland, and having lived in the USA, Antigua and Grenada, we bring a knowledge of what is needed to instinctively feel comfortable and at home in a new environment. Paul is involved in a company which produces banking software and travels fairly regularly to his office in Sweden.

Why they chose this property

Paul and Fay Anne recognised that unique beach property is hard to find. And the Half Moon Bay is very unique - a coral garden. With grounds of an acre and deep deposits of white sand over a stable ironshore base, the site offered many possibilities for development. We decided to place a twin apartment structure on the east side of the property since this kind of layout maximises privacy for individual renters. We designed Crescent Beach from the ground up and has received certificates of excellence. .Crescent Beach is an extension of our personality and even includes artwork from Fay Anne.

What makes this property unique

Crescent Beach is unique because its beach fronts a small bay, Half Moon Bay, full of living coral gardens among which you can walk - only on the sandy bits please. It is even more unique because the properties to the east and west have iron-shore frontage - a tough, craggy, limestone rock - and for this reason, the usual rule of the beach being open to walkers up to the high water mark really does not apply. To access the beach, third parties would have to cross private property.

So for visitors keen on quiet relaxation, but fast and convenient access to restaurants, diving, and about 30 minutes away, the big city - George Town and Camana Bay, Crescent Beach affords the best of both worlds.
