CHIANTI VILLA in heart of Tuscany, super-large pool, 14 ha property, sleeping 10 - Studio

Overview

Property

Updated: 29-Nov-2016
Totally secluded, stunning sunset views, self-contained studio, pets welcome

Restored from the ruin of a typical Tuscan farmhouse Podere Scopeto sits high on a hilltop at 600 meter above sea-level (which means summer nights are just perfect outside) The Main House of Podere Scopeto sleeps 10 so with the Capanna (about 60m away from the Main House) included it is 12 all together, but there is also a small sofa/bed for a toddler in one of the bedrooms. We do have 2 more put-up cots for tinies and two old wooden high-chairs. Scopeto overlooks woods, vineyards and the medieval towns of Radda and Castellina. The nearest town is Gaiole (15 min) in the triangle of Siena, Florence and Arezzo. It is in the middle of the Gallo Nero classic wine region with Brolio, Castello Meleto, Coltibuono on your doorstep.

We have a large saltwater pool (5m x 14 m) with spacious sun terraces and pergolas which offer our guests boyant relaxation, but for the more energetic there are miles of woods and hills to walk in beyond the 30 privately owned acres surrounding the house. It has a huge BBQ with enough chairs and tables to seat 12-18 comfortably on the three terraces. More secluded hammocks and picnic places are dotted around the property under the shade of our olives and sweet chestnuts. We have reliable crystal clear water from our own well and faultless heating and plumbing system. Our bathrooms are modern and work perfectly and every bed- and bathroom has at least one anti-mosquito screen in a window. 2 fireplaces cheer our winter visitors. From the main road you drive 2 and a half km through the woods on an un-tarmaced road which is not suitable for low-slung vehicles, caravans or bikes but fine for normal cars driven slowly. We are happy to let you stay for the annual 'Eroica' traditional bike-race in October though, which takes place every year in Gaiole.

Details for holiday home Studio, Studio, Sleeps 2, 1 Bathroom

The studio has a large sitting room with table seating four and concrete kitchen table running the length of the south-facing window which slides open with traditional brick lattice screen and view of the green jungle-like woods, cosy in winter and cool in the hot summer months. The super-sized bed is on a balcony surrounded by brick shelves so that it becomes a cosy snuggly place filled with Indian cushions - a place to 'chill' day and night. Chinese screens close the walled cupboard. The bathroom has concrete shower floor with large shower-head and concrete table with Philippe Starck basin. Through the window you see the oval-shaped concrete table outside waiting for a large party of people to enjoy their meals shaded by an old chestnut tree with the olive grove beyond and the pool on a higher terrace. Play your favourite music resounding as in this mini concert hall and enjoy the wood-burning stove crackling in winter while you relax on winter evenings after a day exploring the area

Ciao Marina, we had a wonderful holiday, thank you! The weather hovered ner 30 degrees all week. The villa was perfect, and everybody had a super time. The EROICA was the toughest yet as we all suffered greatly in the heat. The 200 km took us 16 hours. As ever the scenery and hospitality made it worthwhile. Grazie!

This time in Scopeto - Diesmal in Scopeto

  • 5 of 5

Who is the One, seeking quietness instead of the hectic everyday life in office and also at home? This one really wants to sleep into the day without any disturbance and just live into the day, like it was in the old days. He really doesn‘t want to see nor hear of any strangers to disturb him. He just wants to pop up, when he likes it, and looks for his secret retreat, that no other one knows of.

That‘s like it is in Scopeto! If you want it, you can be in half an hour on the Campo in Siena or in some more than an hour to Florence, just by car. You got a wonderfull, undisturbed view high up in the mountains of the Chianti, a lovely pool and a fine house for the holidays of the year. There‘s enough room for the plenty of Your‘s, but also a place to retire from the busy world.

What is the price for it? The one, who likes it busy, will be at bore. The one, who wants an easy access, will curse the long and weary road. But the one, who is in the need to find Himself, he will come again and again.

Totale Enstpannung

  • 5 of 5

Look at the map and imagine a point in the centre of a triangle Arezzo, Siena and Florence: three great Italian Renaissance cities, their treasures, markets, restaurants, spaces and events beckon guests from Podere Scopeto. Nearer at hand, the great houses of our area hold frequent concerts, the markets towns, gems like Radda, Volpaia, Castellina, Greve offer their summer festas, wineries with their world-famous labels invite you to sample their wine and new olive oil . Hikers, bicyclists and horse riders can make their own way along the high level paths and rides of the Chianti hills savouring the pine scented breezes. As one of our guests said last year: 'We have been in paradise'.

Other Activities: wine tasting and gastronomy.
