Villa Mila lies in the foothills of the Gavarres, overlooking a tranquil, wooded, green belt valley. Outside dining area with BBQ and pool for summer use. Large, fenced garden, wild on lower slope but with extensive terrace and grassed area below pool. Windows and glazed doors have easy to operate electric roller shutters, which ensures maximum security and a cool (and private) house in summer and coupled with central heating, warm in winter. Vizcondado de Cabanyes has good road and rail links to Barcelona (1¼ hours), Girona Airport (35mins) and Perpignan Airport(1¼ hours). 10 minutes from excellent beaches and coves at St Antoni, Palamos, and Playa d’Aro. Daily markets at local towns and excellent shops and year round restaurants in Playa d’Aro and Palamos. Traditional bar/restaurant within easy walking distance.

Local tennis courts, fantastic Water (Aqua) Park, Go Karts and crazy golf courses, quad biking centre plus all sea/beach related sports just 5 - 10 min. away

Vizcondado de Cabanyes is close to good road and rail links to Barcelona (1¼ hours), Girona (40 min) and Perpignan (75mins). 10 minutes from excellent beaches and coves at St Antoni de Calonge, Palamos and Playa d’Aro. Local fisherman market and daily markets are held at local towns and there are excellent shops and year round restaurants open in Playa d’Aro and Palamos. The pool and gardens are very private and there are tranquil views across the green valleys.

Why Terry Osborne chose Calonge

I puchased my first property, Villa Roma, on the mountain known as Vizcondado de Cabanyes in 2000. I loved the area so much that i bought a second house, Villa Mila, in 2007. During the course of construction, i was able to make modifications, both internally and externally, master bedroom has en-suite bathroom, and added another bathroom, and perhaps the best feature is the very large terrace at the upper level which faces due south, but is mainly covered by a roof to ensure shade when needed.

What makes this villa unique

Villa Mila has a very large terrace on the upper level, but as the property faces due south and enjoys uninterrupted sun , i added a roof across part of the terrace so that it is possible to enjoy shade/sun at any time, whilst looking across the valley to the mountain beyond, or watching the kids in the pool below.

You can sit on this terrace and watch the sun rise in the east and set beyond the mountains to the west. There is also a delightful view of the valley and river below and an ancient farmhouse where the equally ancient couple toil all day and in the evenings you will probably hear the goat bells as they are taken down to the river.

The pool is south facing and therefore enjoys sun for most of the day.

All bedrooms have great views of the mountains opposite and to the west.

On the lower level, the master bedroom, the living room and dining room all have full height glazed sliding doors giving access to the pool terrace, the external dining terrace and the BBQ terrace.

On the upper level there are similar glazed doors giving access to the very large roofed terrace. This ensures that clients have shade when it gets really hot, but the terrace is laid out with settee, arm chairs and coffee tables, plus a small round drinks table with a further 4 chairs.So ideal for reading, dozing and general relaxation.

  • Being recently built, the bathroom and shower rooms are all well appointed. The walk-in showers are very spacious. All rooms are fully tiled and have storage units.

This is a cleverly designed, new, (2007), villa with central heating and electric blinds for all windows and doors for extra privacy, security and temperature control. The living accommodation is larger than usual and designed to take maximum advantage of the fantastic views. Full height glazed doors, immediately off the entrance hall, provide access to a very large terrace, from which it is possible to keep a discrete watch over children in the pool or take breakfast watching the sun rise. The pool terrace faces due south, the outside dining area is usually partly shaded and there is a large BBQ terrace along the western elevation. The garden slopes away steeply, but there is a lockable gate to prevent toddlers leaving the terraces around the house. However, an extensive lower terrace and grassed area offers an escape from noisy kids in the pool and an area for pets and a smoke, (not in house please). There are no parking restrictions in the street and one parking space off-road.

Peaceful and tranquil setting

Lovely week's holiday. Three different generations of family all enjoyed the different areas of the villa. Fly to/from Girona (30-40 mins drive) if you can as we made mistake of flying to/from Barcelona which was 80-90 mins. Good local restaurants and convenient food shopping but you will need a car. Walking to Calogne (old) is possible but difficult with heat. Villa clean and well equipped. Had 2 excellent barbecues!

Serene, spacius and excellent vacation framing

Booking works very well and swift. Arriving at The villa rent smooth. The size exceded our expectations and the terrasses were fantastic.

The pool area was used almost all hours and the water clean and 2 times cleaned and checked by maintainance

Well warned all sufaces had to be keept clean at all times. Left uanattended The ants would come in great massive numbers😀

Our only point was missing bags for The vacuum cleaner and at arrival The fridge and not all edges and corners were quite to our standards

Like 4 on scale to 5

Proximity to walls, beaches( excellent)and both Barcelona was all good

We had an unforgettable and by all means recommendable stay at Mr Osbornes Vila Mila

Villa voldoet volledig aan beschrijving

De villa is mooi ingericht en van alle praktische zaken voorzien, ook de terrassen zijn mooi en fijn om te vertoeven.

Het zwembad is fijn om in te zwemmen, schoon en netjes.

Wij waren met 10 personen en iedereen was er zeer tevreden over.

Wij kunnen deze villa aanraden, ook de omgeving is erg mooi, en St Antoni de Calonge is een leuke badplaats op 5 min rijafstand met de auto.

Vizcondado de Cabanyes is a development of exclusive villas adjacent to Calonge, a quaint medieval village (the castle ruins are worth a visit), just 5 km from St. Antoni beach and close to good road and rail links to airports at Barcelona (1¼ hours), Girona (35 min) and Perpignan (1¼ hours) and 5/10 minutes from excellent beaches and coves at St.Antoni, Palamos and Playa d’Aro. Daily markets at local towns and there are excellent shops and year round restaurants in Playa and Palamos. Palamos has picturesque narrow and pedestrianised streets with beautiful restaurants, bars, tapas, shops and fish market, where you can buy your favourite dish, having just seen the fishermen land their catch. Adjacent is a fishing museum. At Playa there are many fashion shops and clubs/discos. Traditional bars/restaurants are in Calonge, within a few minutes driving distance.

Other Activities: Golf. At the top of the mountain range to the South West is the fantastic Mas Nou golf course. It is only 8kms away but allow 20 mins drive as the last part is very steep and winding. There are a further 7 excellent golf courses within approx 30mins drive , the Emporda complex is highly recommended.

Wine Tasting.

Two excellent tennis clubs nearby (3/4mins).

Fantasic Water Park 7mins.

Beach and water sports 5 minutes.

Quad biking only 2 minutes away
