The Olive Tree Villas were 5* all the way! Dianna, the owner lives locally and is English but has lived in Zante for years, is a wonderful thoughtful owner. She helped us arrange car hire locally ( not from the airport companies so was cheaper), but if you want a complete “get away and stress free holiday” you don’t really need a car, (taxi s are 10 euros to Tsilivi, the nearest tourist town).
Locally you have everything you would need for a relaxing holiday – a supermarket, bakers, fresh fruit co-operative ( local grown fruit and veg sold in a shack) and a butchers at the top of the short road. All rated 5* from our family. The supermarket had everything you wanted ( and more that you didn’t know including small presents to go home with). The bakers opens at 6 am – 1pm, but is sold out of favourite lines by 10am – be warned! The smell is glorious! The butchers has just started serving meals in the evening, - their meat BBQ. (I don’t think they offer vegetarian options) No menu or prices – just Greek salad and meat ( we had their kebabs and Greek sausage), homemade wine – which was very smooth and went down too easily – and really all we could eat for 12 euros a head – and we are big eaters! It was a lovely evening – 5*.
Other eating places around are a lovely fish Tavarna where the owner fishes in the morning and you eat what he caught in the afternoon/evening – while he plays his accordion to his customers. This is right next to the shore line so you can see Kephalonia and boats etc 5*. One other Taverna at the top and one other at the bottom by the beach are both very good and have a very good selection of Greek dishes. (No photos of food outside – I hate that!) both 5*.
The beach is at the bottom of the road. The shore line is stony but nothing that beach/swimming shoes won’t sort out. When we were there (May ½ term) we only saw one other person use the beach. Sun beds were free when we were there unlike the other beaches we tried. There was a “bar” with an honesty box (high season this would probably be manned).
The accommodation is 5*. The lady that comes into clean and garden is in every day. She doesn’t come into the villas until you are ready and sometimes that was late afternoon. We shared the villas with 3 other families but this was not a problem. Plenty of sun beds round the pool. A brilliant holiday! 5*
Ottima scelta.

This is the second time we have stayed here and I don't believe it will be the last. The villas are lovely, cleaned daily, and Diana is a fabulous host. It felt like meeting up with an old friend when we arrived back here. The island is even prettier than I remembered with plenty to do, boat ride and waterpark being highlights for the children. The beautiful coastal roads and a fabulous evening in the local fish taverna with locals playing guitar and accordion being highlights for me! I couldn't recommend these villas more strongly.
This was our first visit to Zante and The Olive Tree Villas but it certainly wont be the last! The villas are in a lovely spot, down a quiet road to the beach. Yet just a 5 minute drive and your in Tsilivi which has all the usual tourist things.
The Villa Oleander was everything we had hoped for but much better. It was furnished to a high standard and was full of everything you could possibly want-even a garlic crusher!! Olympia(housekeeper)does a fantastic job cleaning the villas daily, the pool area is also cleaned daily by a lovely man but oops I cant remember his name.
During our stay Diana was on hand everyday to ensure that we were all ok and if we needed any local info. She is a wealth of knowledge so make the most of it and her contacts. Through Diana we went on two grt boat trips, that her friend dear Spiro ran.
We went with two other familes to the villas and had the run of the place, this is an ideal venue for a big family or friends holidays. We were a group of 13 and had great bbqs and games around the pool-it was brilliant. The waterpark in Tsilivi is a must if you have kids or even big kids, we went twice during our stay.
Diana and Lakis also own a traditional taverna in tsilivi called 'The Olive Tree'-funny that. It is a must-the food is fabulous and Lakis' hospitatlity is 1st class.
This was a truly great holiday and having the personal touch of Diana and her team made it for us all. It was a home from home and I did shed a tear when we left. We will return to Zante and the Olive Tree Villas in the near future and hope to speak to Diana soon. xx
Dave and I spent a fantastic week at the Olive Tree Villas. Hilary (Diana) was a superb hostess and it was lovely to meet her at last! I was recommended to the Olve Tree by Hilary's brother in law and was not disappointed. She came to meet us on arrival and showed us around our lovely villa, Oleander. We felt at home from the minute we got there - everything you need is nearby - we had some lovely bread from the bakery and gorgeous lamb from the local butcher. A car is very useful for exploring further but the villas are so nice, its a shame to leave them for long! I spent lots of time relaxing by the lovely pool - and my hubby also used lots of the fresh herbs from the garden when cooking! If you get chance, visit Roulis taverna by the sea, you get to pick your own fish from the fridge! And if you have a car, don't forget to go to the Olive Tree is Tsilivi which is run by Lakis, Hilarys hubby - who unfortunately had an accident when we were there so the restaurant is in the capable hands of their son, Alexi. The food is absolutely fantastic there - get there early, as its VERY popular!! We will definately be visiting the villas again as they are fabulous. Our thanks to Hilary and her team for making our holiday special, and also a big get well wish to Lakis - hope to see him next time! I would not hesitate to recommend the villas to anyone - they are superb and in a lovely peaceful location among the olive groves - pure Greece!
This was our second visit to the Olive Tree Villas and we were just as delighted as our first visit.
It was wonderful seeing Diana again who met us on arrival and returned everyday to ensure everything was ok with the villa or just to provide local info.
The villas and pool are well maintained, spotlessly clean and in a great location.
There are some good tavernas within walking distance as well as a butchers, bakery and supermarket.
It was a great base to explore the beautiful island of Zakynthos, if you have a car or simply relax by the pool.
We would definitely recommend staying here and we'll be sure to come back.
