This is the best located apartment in Villefranche sur Mer as it has 5 windows overlooking the port and beachfront . It is 70 metres from the restaurants and is very quiet. The apartment is luxuriously decorated with pink marble en suites and an independent large bathroom with a bath overlooking the bay. It is so close to the water that it is like living on a boat ! Each of the 3 bedrooms are large and two are en suite. The main bedroom overlooks the port. There are no stairs to climb as it is entered off Rue Poilu so is suitable for the infirm. At the waterfront it is 2 floors above the cobbled street which is a cul de sac. The area is over 2000 sq. ft. (180 sq. met) and is therefore larger than most houses but is laid out in the best possible way to ensure light floods all rooms. This is an exceptional property .... called ' The Seagulls' . Changeover day Saturday but flexible from october on.

Large apartment overlooking Port of Villefranche: Best apartment in Villefranche. The 3 bedroom apartment is very large and has a u shaped layout. Built in 1820 (and traversing Rue Obscure, dating from the 13th century) , the entrance has bedroom 1 to the left (2 single beds) , then a fully fitted Kitchen with a basement off , housing the air-conditioning, ironing, washer and dryer. Beyond the lower hall is the main room. Bedroom 2 and 3 each have huge sleigh beds with ensuite bathrooms. The main bedroom has 2 windows overlooking the port. Everything in the apartment is new , with a very high standard of furniture, bedding, curtains, fabrics, flooring etc. The 3 bathrooms are clad in Pink Portugese Marble and the main bathroom has a high back bath at the window overlooking the port ! All bathrooms have walk-in showers. Floors are Oak and the furniture is French Provencale style . Original paintings from French and Irish artists in all rooms. The kitchen is Cream Provencale with a tiled floor. Total area is over 2000 sq. feet making this the largest apartment in the Old Town .

The Seagulls : The location is unbeatable as it has 5 windows to the front (+ 6 at the back) and there are no stairs to climb. There are 2 balconies to the front . One is fitted with table and chairs. All ceilings are high as it was constructed from 3 old apartments made into one ! The main building dates from 1720 and Rue Obscure (underneath) from 13 th century . The basement has a separate entrance for bicycles etc if required.

A car is not necessary in Villefranche. However there is a public car park 120 yards away (€ 8 / day) and a free car park on the old Citadel (300 yds away) .

Elegance by the sea

Just came back from Villefranche - the apartment is fabulous, very bright airy

and comfortable. It is in very traditional French setting with the charm of a

beautiful pedestrianised street to enter the apartment and the sheer beauty of

being less than 10m from the sea on the balconies. It is ultra luxurious and

spacious, just a pity we had to come home. Beds extremely comfortable and

everything needed for an enjoyable time to be found in the cupboards or the

basement.

We hope to return there in the future and would recommend it highly, whatever

the price.

Our trip from June 2016 ...

Imagine you are in the south of France, sitting on your balcony overlooking a bay of clear blue water. Do I really need to continue? Perhaps not, but here you are in VilleFranche by Nice, the (second) home to many a rock star or two. As you sit there sipping on your beverage of choice and you quickly see why they have made a home there.

The Seagulls is part of that whole feeling. A roomy comfortable apartment that allows you to very much enjoy your stay in VilleFranche and surrounding area. It is of course an older building but it's been renovated nicely but keeps it's old world charm. With in unit washer and dryer it's a great place to stay and relax for a family.

The train station is a 5 minute walk, and from there you can make it to Nice in <10 minutes, Monaco in 20 minutes, and Ventimiglia Italy in 40 minutes (market day there is Friday).

Instructions on the use of the TV needs a little updating and a house book helping you better understand your choices of things to do in the area was missing but overall a great find. What was also nice is that although you where overlooking the main restaurant strip down by the water, the noise level was very manageable.

Perfect!!

This is the most perfect apartment you could hope for if you are looking for a peaceful, ideally located French Riviera vacation. We had big plans to walk 5 minutes to the train station everyday to explore surrounding areas, but found it almost impossible to leave Villefranche-Sur-Mer and this exquisite property. Having the market just steps away made it very tempting to stay in and cook every night in the meticulously stocked, granite kitchen. When we did force ourselves to venture out, we noticed that while neighboring villages were cool with March winds, our little bay was always sunny and warm. Each of the three suites is exceptionally private so it functioned perfectly for our family of various ages. Seagulls exceeded our expectations and we cannot wait to come back!!!

Stunning Apartment

Other reviews are completely accurate - this apartment is amazing. We stayed a week with our two adult daughters, one with her partner. There was ample room for five adults and having three bathrooms was a bonus. Beautifully decorated and well equipped Seagulls is easily the best we have stayed in.

The location can't be bettered, waterfront with views to die for, just a treat waking up and drawing the curtains to see if there was a new cruise ship in the harbour. Restaurants aplenty, bakery and a wee supermarket a few doors away. Everything about our stay was perfect and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this apartment to everyone.

Fantastic Thanksgiving in Cote d'Azur

My wife and I spent 15 fantastic days in Cote d'Azur staying in "The Seagulls" apartment in Villefranche-sur-mer. One thing I can say is that the information describing the apartment is excellent and it lives up to everything said about it. We had friends visit for one of the weeks and it was very comfortable for two couples. It can easily accomodate 3 couples with three bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and the kitchen and living rooms are very large and spacious. The maid is also great!

I rented a car, but one is not needed and a bit of a liability driving in the very narrow streets, also parking can be challenging with large cars. The train station is very convenient and inexpensive, it is definitely the way to go in season. We took the train into Nice (two stops) frequently and also to Ventimiglia, Cannes, Antibes, La Napoule, and elsewhere. The restaurants in Villefranche are quite good, but it is also nice to dine in Nice and elsewhere using the train to avoid needing to worry about your wine intake.

I bought this property because of the location. It took 8 months work to make it perfect . It traverses Rue Obscure from Rue du Poilu across to the front of the port. Has been advertised on Homeaway since 2008

Nearest Airport : Nice at 8 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Lombardo's bar at 70 Metres Nearest Ferry : Nice at 6 Kilometres Nearest Golf : Golf at 15 Kilometres Nearest Train : Villefranche sur Mer at 250 Metres Nearest Motorway : A8 at 4 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Many restaurants at 30 Metres Nearest Ski : Auron at 90 Kilometres Nearest Beach : at 80 Metres Car: not necessary

Villefranche sur Mer is situated between Nice and Monte Carlo.... truly one of the world's greatest locations. The train station is 150 metres away and journey times are 7 minutes to the centre of Nice and 17 minutes to Monaco (Monte Carlo). The train will also take you to Italy ( 35 minutes) and San Raphael ( 90 minutes). The A8 motorway is 15 minutes by car. The apartment is in the centre of the Old Town so everything is less than 1 minute away .... bakery, supermarket, restaurants etc. However, the apartment is very quiet.
