As good as it gets. Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Having just returned from Le Banquet with our three young girls , we cant recomend it enough.

Immaculate in every aspect. Our children had an enormous area of perfectly landscaped gardens to play in and were completely safe , which really put us at ease .

The pool was perfect . The house was amazing, so tasteful with everything you could possibly need. And to add to all that Rob and Karen were the perfect hosts, welcoming and approachable, especially to my two slightly talkative little ones !

If you youre visiting the Dordogne , then you will not find a better place to stay while doing so .

Highly recommended .

Liam moran.

Fantastic family destination ******

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have been happier with our choice to spend 3 weeks at Le banquet. The edge of village location in such a fantastic area was perfect, and the facilities were top notch. Our two children (4&5) loved the very well stocked play barn and were very hard to remove from the pool and inflatables. The gites are so well thought out and stocked it was a home from home. Karen and Rob (the owners) are so welcoming and knowledgeable about the area, and generally couldn't do enough for us and were great with the kids. With so much to see and do we're returning again next...roll on summer 2018!

Idyllic Countryside Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at Rob and Karen's cottages!

We were greeted by Rob and Karen upon our arrival and couldn't believe our luck at being able to stay in such beautiful surroundings!

Our cottage was spotlessly clean, furnished with everything we wanted/needed for a stay in the countryside - a fully outfitted kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, modern bathroom (fluffy towels!!), and laundry. We opened our windows to listen to the river rushing by and spent lots of time in the resort-like pool.

It was very, very hot (like 37C) and there is no air conditioning. We were a bit worried about how we would survive. Rob and Karen appeared with fans and also instructed us to shut the windows and curtains during the day. We were perfectly comfortable and now appreciate the insulating properties of ancient, thick stone walls.

Rob and Karen were always available but never intrusive - perfect hosts. They had recommendations for sightseeing and restaurants that were very helpful.

We cannot wait to return to their lovely property!!

A great holiday break in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in La Forge for a week in June 2017 and had a wonderful time. Rob and Karen were great hosts and everything in La Forge was set out very well. We loved using the big swimming pool later in the day to cool off. We ate out most evening and this just involved a short walk into Les Ezyies which has a great range of shops and restaurants. Overall a great holiday

Considering the Dordogne? Book le Banquet!

  • 5 of 5

We’ve fallen in love with the Dordogne. We love the prehistoric caves, the vibrant village markets, and the magnificent river valley. We just returned from our second stay at Le Banquet.

We find Les Eyzies is a destination itself – each of the cottages is spectacular; the glowing reviews are all true.

We love that each cottage is your own; the spaces are so private, you will feel like you are in your own pied- a-terre in the country. The grounds are expansive – there is room to stretch . We love that the interiors are as stunning as the countryside because Rob and Karens haute- concept is designed to surprise and delight… after all, this part of the country is called, “La France Profonde”!

We love that Les Eyzies creates a “diamond-standard” for quality and the cottages are immaculate. You will find modern appliances, luxurious linens, great furniture and cookware. Everything sparkles with cleanliness here.

Sightseeing: At Les eyzies, you are short drives from adventures in every direction. The Font de Gaume, Les Combarelles, Tourtoirac, the Dordogne River town of Sarlat-la-Canéda… the roman town of Perigueux, the port cities of Bergerac and Bordeaux. Wine tastings in Pécharmant, St Emilion, and Bordeaux are a day excursion.

From the Heart: Your hosts, Rob and Karen are the vacation curators every traveler hopes for. They will help chart your adventures, offer off the beaten path experiences, or simply allow you the pleasure of a very private holiday. You will not want to leave.

Best holiday ever!!!

  • 5 of 5

La Forge is a wonderful, extremely well equipped and spotless cottage in a beautiful part of the Dordogne, ideally situated to explore the best of the area.

Karen and Rob are lovely, around if you need to ask them anything but not overbearing at all. They have thought of everything, plenty for the kids to do on site with the play barn, and the pool is great. The grounds are big and the garden is wonderful, with the stream running along one side. Completely relaxing and idyllic.

I would thoroughly recommend a stay here and in fact we are already planning a return to the Dordogne next summer. Thank you Karen and Rob for a lovely holiday.

Dramatic rock faces, sparkling rivers, green valleys, Chateaux, medieval villages, prehistoric caves and brilliant sunlight. The Dordogne, the very heart of the Perigord has been described by some as paradise.

As you pass fields of sunflowers and corn and marvel at castles towering at the top of cliffs or visit the many 'Beau Villages' in the surrounding area you begin to understand why. The area surrounding Le Banquet is dominated by pre-history, beautiful architecture and gastronomy. The perfectly preserved medieval town of Sarlat is just 20 minutes away.

The local markets are full to brimming with some of the best produce France has to offer.

Whether you wish to visit one of the many UNESCO world heritage sites, caves with their drawings dating back 20,000 years, picnic by the banks of the Vezere River, taste the excellent wines from Bergerac and surround or canoe, horse ride and perhaps fish, Le Banquet is at the very heart of it all.

If you are a food lover, then welcome to gastronomic heaven! Foie Gras, cepes, truffles and excellent restaurants - the region has it all.

Other local activities include: canoeing, airparks, quad bike hire, go carting the list is endless.......
