2 bedrooms, Sleeps 4, Large Shared Pool

Updated: 28-Nov-2016

This child friendly property is situated on a hill above the bustling 'all year round' village of Cogolin, approximately 12 Km from chic St Tropez. The estate has a large swimming pool with a separate paddling pool and 2 boules pitches for the exclusive use of residents. The rear of the property is south facing with beautiful views from the first floor balcony - a wonderful place to sit and enjoy your morning coffee! Whilst some of the properties are used as holiday accommodation the majority are occupied by full time residents.

The accommodation is comprised of an open plan kitchen with full size oven, ceramic hob, microwave and fridge freezer. The living area has a large sofa which can be converted into a double bed, dining table, 6 chairs and has sliding patio doors opening onto the south facing garden with table, 6 chairs, BBQ and sun awning. The property has a satellite television, DVD, MP3 player and radio. We are also delighted to offer, for the first time, free WIFI. There is a separate toilet downstairs and a parking space directly outside the house.

On the first floor is a double bedroom with a wardrobe, chest of drawers and ceiling fan. There is also a small balcony with a table and 2 chairs. The second bedroom has 2 single beds with a built in wardrobe, chest of drawers and an electric fan. The bathroom has a shower over the bath, basin and toilet. The rental price includes the final cleaning and linen hire.

The property is within a 10 minute walk to the centre of the village with its bars, restaurants, twice weekly market and traditional shops. There is also a large hypermarket (Le Clerc) on the edge of the village.

Although there is a reliable local bus service to the neighbouring towns and villages a car is recommended and taxis can prove to be expensive. We can arrange transport from the airport if required.

Superb, comfortable house

  • 5 of 5

This was a very well maintained, comfortable & clean two bedroom house. Ideal for a family holiday ( 2 adults & 2 teenagers ) . The pool and common areas of the complex are very well looked after and there is a friendly atmosphere with the other residents . Cogolin is a busy small town with all the facilities required for an enjoyable holiday in the area. We ate a few times at local restaurants and especially recommend "Le Petit Maison " . There is a large supermarket and also plenty of local small shops for bread etc. A local map is handy for finding some back roads to the beaches as the main roads can be very busy.

Idyllic French holiday home

  • 5 of 5

Maison Albert is absolutely perfect, situated in a very quiet private estate, with mainly French residents. It's only 15-20 minutes walk to the lovely town of Cogolin, where there are many excellent restaurants and bars. We recommend Lily chez Allan - our favourite restaurant, but it's hard to have a bad meal in truth. We visited the Gorge of Verdon and went white water rafting, which was a holiday highlight for us and our two teenagers. Try Buena Vista rafting. St. Tropez was great fun, take the boat from St. Maxime, but a bit too touristy for us. We'd definitely recommend this property as it was clean, had everything we needed as well as being well located for trips out and beach visits. Thanks for a lovely holiday Julie!

Great house in Cogolin.

  • 4 of 5

The house was great, clean and well maintained on a small private estate with a super pool. About 15mins walk from the town centre where there is an abundance of bars and restaurants. The area has a lot to offer apart from superb beaches there are many interesting places to visit. Will be recommending to friends.

Great apartment in cosy french town

  • 5 of 5

Really nice and well maintained apartment, in a calm and relaxing neighborhood. The apartment has everytning you need. We traveled with two kids (aged 4 & 8), and the apartment and the area is ideal for families. The estate has a great pool area, where we spent a lot of time. Strolling around ind the town was nice, since there were not many tourists in this town. We visited beaches in St Marime and Port Grimaud - they were great. And from Port Grimaud you can also take a boat to Saint Tropez (though Saint Tropez was too many tourists for us). We also had a day trip to Aix en Provence - a really nice city!

The owner of the apartment is extremely serviceminded, and I can relly recommend her and her apartment.

A wonderful French 'home away from home'!

  • 5 of 5

This was my husband and I's second stay at Maison Albert and it was just as wonderful as we remembered it! Situated amongst a series of quiet 'cul de sacs' housing local residents, this holiday home feels authethically French (the neighbours even come out to play Boules in the evening!) You have the feeling of being in amongst the French culture, but you can keep yourself to yourself.

There is space for one car on the front drive and steps down to a sheltered, private porch which contains a washing machine, spare fridge (for extra bevvies!) and plenty of outdoor toys/equipment. The house itself is gently decorated with local/French touches and has the perfectly balanced (a clean, spacious and tidy environment, and yet you don't feel worried about settling in/leaving your things about - great for families and couples alike).

The kitchen is stocked with everything you could need for a week or two away! A dining/lounge/TV area leads out to a well-maintained main balcony, with outdoor table and BBQ. The main bedroom is simply dressed with plenty of storage (and one will appreciate the ceilng fan at the night - it gets hot in S. France!) The spare bedroom has a bunk bed and window seat and is perfect for young children.

In terms of the local area, the little town of Cogolin is just a hop, skip, and a downhill jump away and here you can immerse yourself into the French cutlure and visit all the local trinket shops (there is also a market on at the weekend). You will soon get used to the walk uphill back to the cottage (helped by a couple of glasses of French wine!) The LeClerc supermarket is a longer walk away, so better to drive to, and this has EVERYTHING YOU WILL EVER NEED!

For sightseeing, you are suitably placed to visit all the little villages - check out Port Grimaud and Bormes les Mimosas. N.B.the house has a little 'with pictures' guide to some of the local attractions - read it! So many gorgeous little villages to see. One thing to note, though: supermarkets/shops/eateries WILL shut on a Sunday. You won't find milk for love nor money on a Sunday night (as we learnt to our peril!) Refreshing, actually, to have a sense of Sunday rest!

I would highly recommend Maison Albert to anyone - of any age - who wants a realxing break away from the hustle and bustle (and good grub to boot!)

Nearest Airport : Toulon at 60 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Cogolin at 1 Kilometres Nearest Ferry : Calais at 1200 Kilometres Nearest Golf : Beauvallon at 6 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Cogolin at 1 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Marines de Cogolin/ Port Grimaud at 4 Kilometres Car: recommended

Cogolin is a 'year round' village and unlike many of the other villages on the Cote d'Azur does not close for winter. It is renowned for its carpet weaving with a workshop in the village to which visits can be arranged.

St Tropez with its yachts, chic shops, markets and quayside artists is apprxomately 12km away and is a must for a visit.

The property is close to many beautiful beaches but the nearest is Marines de Cogolin which is an ideal spot for children with a sandy beach and safe bathing. Cogolin is the perfect base from which to explore the picturesque countryside, unspoilt villages and spectacular coastline.

Whilst the south of France is a great place to be during the summer months it also has a lot to offer out of season-the spring music festival in St Tropez, the Harley Davidson Owners Group rally in May, the Voiles de St Tropez (sailing comp) in late Sep, walking the coastal path, wine tasting and for bargain hunters the end of season sale in St Tropez.
