About the property

South-facing chalet style rental - 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Central Meribel..

Our apartment is a cosy, comfortable and south-facing with a chalet-style interior, large south-facing terrace and uninterrupted mountain views. It has a very convenient central location in the main part of Meribel, just above the center of the resort. All the resort facilities are close and can be reached easily on foot. As there are a number of different satellites ski resorts in the valley, it can be confusing to understand where the apartment is located. However only one Meribel houses the Olympic Park where you will find the Chaudanne ski lifts and the Olympic skating rink - our apartment is 5 minutes from this location. With 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a very comfortable lounge, the apartment is perfect for a family or a group of friends sharing. Although a car is not necessary to enjoy the resort, there is a car park and also a ski locker. Enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of a real home-from-home; well-equipped and very comfortable at the end of a day on the beautiful slopes of the Three Valley area. Meribel is in the heart of what is agruably Europes largest ski and snowboarding areates are beautifully maintained and snowsure from December through April each year. Please note - our costs are quoted without linen. Linen hire is available at an addtional cost if required

What's to enjoy.........: If you lead a very busy life, love skiing or mountain activities in general, enjoy a good night out but might also want to find a cosy spot to curl up in, relax and maybe even spend time looking at the view - our apartment is the right choice. My perfect spot is on the settee, with a cup of coffee, magazine unread on my knees whilst I gaze out of the window at the mountain view opposite. And when I go to bed, I make sure the curtains are open so that I can see the same view as soon as I wake up in the morning. Sound appealing?

The Summer: Meribel in summer is a fabulous activity destination. As well as a lively village with a great swimming pool and water slide, the summer mountain activities are right on the doorstep - mountain biking, paragliding, hiking - as well as a great children's club. For golfers, there is a fantastic 18 hole course and driving range. Mountain bike lovers will be spoilt. You can use the ski lifts to go uphill and have lots of energy left for the 263kms of VTT paths in this area.

The apartment is good choice for younger children. As well as being all on one level, the south-facing terrace is completely enclosed. For older kids who want a bit of freedom - they can walk safely to the shops in the centre of the village and even down to the swimming pool without having to cross any major roads. The free navette bus stops for travelling further afield are also close by.

Golf Details: Golf in Meribel is best described as awesome. The 18 hole, par 70, 5,370m course set on the mountain side is open from May to September. The surroundings are beautiful and the views spectacular. The walk around also prevents a reasonable challenge to the fittest golfer although buggies are available for hire. The course is about 7 minutes drive from the apartment. Also within one hour's drive are the golf courses at Couchevel 1850, and Lake Annecy. Both are also beautiful courses.

About Vari

We are a family of very keen skiers. Despite skiing all over the world in hundreds of different resorts we always come back to Meribel where we think the endless pistes and homely feel of the resort is the best in the world.

Vari purchased this apartment in 1996

Why Vari chose Les Allues

This property is situated in an ideal location. The pistes are just a short walk down the road as is Meribel's centre which is filled with trendy shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. The short distance between the centre of town and the apartment also guarantees you a great night sleep with no loud music or partying on the doorstep. The apartment also has a great outdoor space, brilliant for building snow men and snow ball fights in the winter or a beautiful mountain wild flower garden in the summer. Enjoy the sun on the terrace.

There is also an outdoor parking reserved for residents in the building and a handy ski locker and boot room to store your kit. The ski locker is large enough for two mountain bikes.

What makes this apartment unique

Due to our families frequent use of this apartment we have turned it into a cosy, warm and welcoming apartment. It's wood clad walls make it a lovely family environment and all the sofas and chair have been tested for optimal comfort. The kitchen is very well fitted with everything you could need to serve up a feast and entertain guests. There is plenty of room at the table to enjoy your meal comfortable before retreating to the sofas to play board games or to plan the next day's adventure. Originally two separate apartments, we brought them together to create a larger space ideal for families or friends. On one side of the apartment you'll find the kitchen, living area, bunk bed room, toilet and bathroom. The other side of the apartment is a cosy double room, with plenty of storage room, a bathroom and toilet and every child's dream cubby hole bed. The lay out of the apartment gives a great amount of privacy and socialising space.

Double glass doors look out from the large terrace onto gorgeous mountain views. Nothing stands between you and those mountainous peaks!

Again it was a wonderful week in Meribel ......... The reservation for next year, that will be the 8th time that we will stay in your apartment ... but the Trois Vallees is the best place to be for skiing, according to us and your apartment is lovely

Ideal location - close to skiing - close to village life and apres ski. Many resort activities in summer - golf, horse-riding, swimming, ice-skating, tennis, mountain-biking. Excellent for children. Please note the communal swimming pool is in the village sports center, 10 minutes walk from the apartment, for which there is an entry charge.

Very helpful owners who answered our many questions with accurate information. Spacious with 2 bathrooms that is a real plus. Comfortable, clean and in excellent condition even at the end of season. Lots of extras such as books and games that made it home from home. Great south facing balcony that was a suntrap. Excellent location with short walk to slopes, centre and supermarket.

Perfect location, lovely apartment

Beautifully equipped apartment in great location. 2 mins walk to centre of village, 5 mins to pistes. Plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 teenage kids. Would happily come back.

Comfortable pocket sized home

Well designed appartment with lovely wood panelling and furnishings. We were comfortable with 5 adults. Kitchen is tiny but everything you need is there. Two bathrooms very welcome, although some of the taps and shower heads need attention. In a quiet area of town but close to all main food shops, though can hear flat above if they decide to party. Owner really helpful with all requests.

Fantastic place to stay

From first asking about a rental to getting the security deposit back- the whole process was fantastic. The owners replied very fast to any questions and were very helpful.

The apartment had everything you would need and more for a self catering trip.

It is in a great location and only a short walk to the nearest slope, (walked in snowboard boots and ski boots)

We were a group of 4 adults and had plenty of room, it helps a lot having two bathrooms!

All of the other reviews are accurate and if you decide to stay here you won't be disappointed. We were lucky and had lots of fresh snow when we arrived, but meribel and the three valleys is superb even when there has not been much snow.

We drove and parked our car in the car park, nice and easy to park and get to the ski lockers etc.

We had a great time and will be in touch next year for hopefully another booking.

The apartment is situated centrally in the main resort of Meribel, minutes from the Tourist Office. In winter the ski piste by the Tourist Office leads straight to the main ski lifts at the Chaudanne - less than a minute by ski or board. It is also conveniently located for the resorts many bars and restaurants and specialist sports shops. For self-catering, the nearest supermarket is 2 minutes walk.

Meribel is situated at 1,600 metres in the middle of the world famous 3 Valleys skiing area on the edge of the Vanoise National Park. There are over 600 kilometres of pistes serviced by around 200 lifts. Skiing rises to over 3300 metres so snow is guaranteed in the early and late season. Meribel's apres-ski culture has come to life in the past years by the arrival of the Folie Douce and the Rond Point. The party continues off the snow with the new french club "Les Saints Peres" or in Meribel's original British club "O'Sullivans". If you fancy a day off the snow head to the swimming pool, complete with a water slide and spa. You can easily rent skates at the ice rink or treat yourself to a skating show or ice hockey match. In the Olympic centre you'll also find a bowling alley and a climbing wall. Climbing courses are available alternatively, the wall is free to use if you have your own equipment. There are a number of ski schools and crêches available for children from around 6 month upward.
