Sun filled, spacious and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Horsemans Hideaway- beautiful location and the house is very comfortable, well appointed and close to Mazama area trails and amenities. There was quite a bit of snowfall during our visit (yay!) and the road was regularly plowed and the house warmed up quickly.

Good location, beautiful setting, comfy

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I are avid cross country skiers. We rent in the Methow at least once a year so we're very familiar with the area. This was the first time we stayed at Timberline Meadows. We look for places where we can ski without having to drive. This cabin is a very short walk from Johns Way. We discovered that the otherwise superb groomers only groom this trail once/week. And it snowed almost every day during our week. Not much fun skate skiing in 2-3 inches of fresh powder. Good workout though. The cabin itself is very spacious. Appliances all worked well. Quite a few burned out bulbs which made for less than ideal cooking experiences but good enough. Major drawback was the heating system. There are numerous thermostats but none of them are particularly accurate or sensitive. We found we had to manually turn up or down the thermostats to avoid either too warm or too cold. Plus the installed forced air units were disturbingly noisy, at least for our tastes. WiFi in the unit was slow and undependable, typical for Methow units, in our experiences. I had excellent Verizon cell service and did much better using my cell as a "hotspot" for my WiFi connection. The resident manager was very responsive. I should have requested he put in working light bulbs! He plowed the road and our little driveway frequently due to the nearly daily snow falls. Beds and seating were were ok comfort-wise, not quite comfy enough for my arthritic wife so we'll not likely stay in this cabin again.

Christmas Delight

  • 5 of 5

A perfect holiday retreat for the 4 of us. Spacious yet cozy, and well appointed. We were there for the winter weather and XC skiing and weren't disappointed. Close enough to ski to the Mazama store and connect with the many trails in that area, or an easy drive into the Winthrop area for meals or community trail skiing. The windows and subsequent view across one entire side of the home were fantastic. We had thought cell service would not be available, but our Verizon signal was strong (we tried to ignore it!). We would happily return to this property.

Owner's Response: We are so happy you had wonderful visit with us and hope you will return. The Methow Valley is a magical place in the Summer as well. Verizon is the only cell service that works in the Mazama area, glad it turned out to be your provider.

Great Getaway

  • 5 of 5

The house was wonderful. A wall of windows allowed us to take in the palette of fall colors. Kitchen and living area are open and spacious. Very clean and modern with a western flair. We were looking for a quiet and relaxing time and we got it. We will be coming back. Thanks Vicki!

really nice Mazama cabin

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Mazama cabin. It is very comfortable, clean, and well equipped. An excellent location for accessing hikes near Rainy Pass and Washington Pass. We can see that this would be a nice spot for XC skiing as well. We definitely plan to return.

Summer stay at Timberline Meadows Horseman's Hidaway

  • 4 of 5

The Horseman's Hideaway has all of the conveniences right at hand and it sits at the foot of a hill to hike. Nice decor with the Cowboy theme. Kitchen had a nice view out and granite counter tops with appliances. The front deck was a perfect place to sit with coffee in the morning; taking in the sunrise and the change in color of the distant mountains. Also great for wine in the evening to watch the sunset. Timberline Meadows is only 2 miles from the Mazama general store with Gourmet sandwiches and some of the best fresh baked goods you will ever find. The cracked salt baguette is to die for. We were close to hiking trails and a short drive to Winthrop for evenings out. We had no issues with the facilities nor the manager.

A very rejuvenating stay. We will come back again.
