Overview

Property

Updated: 27-Oct-2016
Three properties are available: Le Moulin; Le Sechoir and Le Cottage

Le Moulin is a beautifully converted 3-bedroomed, 200 year-old stone house, formerly a water mill. The property is arranged on two levels with a spacious and comfortable sitting area. The house is roomy, airy, cool in summer and has oil-fired central heating installed, if required. There is a double bedroom with en suite bathroom on the ground floor. The first floor has two bedrooms with a full bathroom and separate toilet. These bedrooms can be accessed both from the inside or directly from the outside.

Le Sechoir is a converted tobacco barn with an extremely large living and dining area that overlooks meadows. There are four bedrooms and two full bathrooms on the first floor.

Le cottage is situated at the entrance to the property and overlooks a trout stream and pond. This was previously an old stone barn and includes a full kitchen as well as spacious living and dining areas. The property has one bedroom with full bathroom on the ground floor and two additional bedrooms with one full bathroom on the first floor.

All properties have satellite TV, well-equipped kitchens and dining area with gas hob, electric oven, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and toaster. Each has an independant

patio with barbecue facilities in private gardens with sun loungers and outdoor dining facilities. There is secure parking and a heated and alarmed 12 x 6m shared swimming pool with separate children's pool close by.

Top Traveller Review

About the Owner

We have been married since 1982 and have two adult daughters. We have travelled extensively and have spent many summers in the Dordogne due to my husband's French side. We had been looking on and off for two years for a home to retire to, and as of July 29th, 2014, became the happy owners of La Rosiere. We love the location with it's stunning beauty within a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A beautiful cottage in the middle of the countryside but close to the pretty town of Les Eyzies

  • 5 of 5

I have just spent a week at the Cottage with some friends and two children aged 12 and 10 years old. The Cottage has a pool included which is shared with a second property on the site. The properties and the pool are surrounded by countryside and if you want to get away from it all I would highly recommend it!!

There are three properties in total the third being the owners home. Dena and Patrick who own the holiday lets were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel very much at home.

The stone Cottage was very well equipped and lovely and cool in the 36 degrees heat as it had 2ft thick walls.

Very pleasant stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. The accommodation was comfortable and well equipped, and the pool was well looked after and much enjoyed by our little boy. The cottage itself is in a lovely location about 10minutes from Les Eyzies, which is a vibrant town. There are loads of attractions in the local area to suit all ages. The hosts were very accommodating and extremely helpful whenever we needed anything. We would recommend this cottage to others with small children (or without).

Stunning place

  • 5 of 5

We recently visited Dordogne and were able to find this absolutely gorgeous home. The owner replied promptly to our inquiries and gave us the information we required. The Cottage is located in a beautiful site near Sarlat and close to lots of medieval towns.

I´m already planning another trip to The Cottage with my family next summer.

Séjour en dordorgne

  • 5 of 5

Peaceful bliss!!

  • 5 of 5

A lovely week in a beautiful property - secluded, yet near enough to town; peaceful, yet full of birdsong; well equipped for cooking, yet near to fabulous restaurants - this place has it all!

We had a warm welcome on arrival, after quite a long drive, but it is worth it! I would recommend this place to anyone!

Un petit coin de paradis

  • 5 of 5

Facilities

From the Owner

2014/2015 is Dena and Patrick's first season at La Rosiere. We are only 4kms from the nearest small town in a ‘protected zone’ at the end of a small but well-maintained road with no passing traffic. Our lovely property has 20 acres of private land consisting of gardens, pastures and a small stream, surrounded by hundreds of acres of woodlands with abundant footpaths and wildlife (deer and boar), birdlife, and flowers. Our three spacious self-catering gites have been lovingly converted from spacious rural farm buildings that reflect our property’s varied and fascinating history – a Tobacco-drying Barn, a Water-Mill and a Hayloft, all with private gardens, ample parking and a 12 x 6m shared and heated pool. The whole property is a secure and adventurous haven for children (and grown-ups!) of all ages.
