Rural Andalusia villa with WIFI private pool & breathtaking panoramic views

Overview

Property

Updated: 13-Nov-2016
5 Beds, 2 ensuite bathrooms, 2 shower rooms, sleeps 10-11, 378 sq/ m with WIFI

Originally 2 rural houses Cortijo Los Pelaes has been sympathetically rebuilt to the highest of specifications using a blend of old and new Andalusia styles. With 378 sq/m of internal space & 4 private terraces it offers luxury holiday accommodation for 2 families in complete comfort.

The house has been furnished and equipped to the highest of standards and provides a true 'home away from home' experience, a 9m private pool with stunning mountain as the backdrop and a expansive paved pool surround and garden terracing. The cortijo is approached up a short track which sees minimal traffic other then the occasional farmer on his tractor. Olive groves and mountains make up the scenery with the village of Rosario in the distance. Rosario has all the necessary amenities including petrol, bank, supermarkets, butchers, bakers, tapas bars and restaurants.

It you are looking for a peaceful rural getaway in Andalusia - the 'real Spain'- Cortijo Los Pelaes this is the place for you . We also have WIFI if you need to be connected whilst away.

Coast Beach: We are 30 mins north of Malaga and the busy tourist destinations of Costa de Del Sol. Waterparks, beaches, Scuba diving, international boutiques and nightlife abound.

Skiing: Only 1 hours drive and you reach the skiing worlds best kept secret - Sierra Nevada. As Europe's most southerly ski resort with extensive snow making machines you will enjoy sun drenched skiing with views of the Atlas mountains in Africa. The season runs through until early April and ski schools in Sierra Nevada speak English and are very friendly. The owners can recommend suitable establishments.

Outdoor activities: The local countryside affords the traveller great opportunities to discover Spain's wildlife, bird life and fauna. The landscape is ideal for walking, cycling, fishing and horse riding.

In summer you can climb the second highest mountain in Spain; El Veleta @ 3335m in the Sierra Nevada range.

Flamingos and storks breed in the surrounding lakes. Trout fishing and caviar can be found in nearby Riofrio or you can simply climb the mountains in front of the property or just wander the endless olive groves.

The owners will happily advise.

About the Owner

We are Family of four based near London. We love Spain.....and return as much as we can. Ian was brought up on The Balearic Islands and so has a connection with all things Hispanic speaking the language fluently. Our boys are 12 and 16 and have grown up experiencing holidays in Spain and enjoying the villa as their playground with its pool, pool table, and space to run around safely and securely.

A wonderful holiday in a wonderful villa-paradise! Arrival date 27/6/2015.

We were a party of 10 who enjoyed the most amazing 11 nights in this beautiful villa. The villa was a short drive from Malaga and we arrived to the most spectacular views.

The property was spotless and well equipped for a party as large as ours, and there was ample room for us all.

The pool was fantastic and the children and adults enjoyed this immensely in the warm Malaga sun.

Rob, the manager, answered our queries very promptly and he and his wife were welcoming and friendly.

We would thoroughly recommend this beautiful property and I'm sure we will be back again in the future.

Lives up to billing

  • 5 of 5

We were a party of 7 adults. The generous size of the living areas and stairs makes the villa feel enormous – you wouldn’t know anyone else was in the house when you’re tucked away in your room. All the different outdoor spaces were excellent for peace and quiet. Directions to the villa from Malaga airport were accurate & easy to follow.

The best restaurant we found was Los Cabales in Villanueva del Trabuco. In Antequera, we had an excellent meal at Arte de Cozina. The local village is a fair step, and you might not want to walk back after a meal. Take a torch if you plan to.

The pool was bracing but a lovely extra and much used by all of us. The kitchen is well equipped, with basics provided.

Brilliant location for visiting Granada, Cordoba, Seville, the Torcal at Antequera, the Caminito del Rey, Ronda, Sierra Nevada and Malaga.

A really great villa

  • 5 of 5

This villa is large and beautiful. 5 bedrooms, pool, table tennis, pool table, wifi, garage. Really good.

There is a downstairs bedroom in case needed and air con throughout.

The local town is OK but worth driving 20 minutes further afield. Some really great sites and sights.

Only downside is a couple of windy days with wind tearing up the valley but nothing that detracted from the place at all.

Would definitely recommend.

A Jewel in the Crown of Andalusia

  • 5 of 5

We had a magical week at Cortijo Los Pelaez with our Family. We were greeted by the housekeeper and her husband who effectively provided us all with a conducted tour. The house is very well equipped and the furnishings are wonderful. We were quickly able to relax around the beautiful swimming pool and take in the most spectacular views . Over the coming days we became very proficient at using the table tennis and pool table facilities. As a tennis fan we were able to watch the tennis grand slam at Roland Garros. Do make use of the excellent outside BBQ facilities.

We had four grandchildren with us aged from 7 years old down to 3 months. It was heaven for them and there was absolutely no need to go in search of beaches and sandcastles as everything was here at the Villa. The nearby Village is pretty and well worth a visit. A small supermarket sells everything that is required but larger supermarkets within 30 mins drive provide a wider range for the "big shop". This Villa "touched the spot" with all 12 of us and with wall to wall sunshine we had an absolutely wonderful week. Thank you Alyson and Ian.

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week and had a great time. We were 4 adults and two children. The house was very nice and we specialy enjoyed the pool and the pool table. Big spaces both indoors and outdoors. We stayed the first week of May. Our only bump in the road was that the weather was a bit up and down. You need a car to stay here. I would go back but maybe a week or two later or so. So you could relax more at the pool. Everything from booking to stay was very easy.

A fantastic villa for a family holiday

  • 5 of 5

The villa more than lived up to the description on the website and the facilities were excellent. We all enjoyed the outside eating area and the pool and the kids used the pool table and table tennis extensively.

The villa spotless and when the wifi went down it was reset very quickly (and was fast compared to wifi we have experienced elsewhere)

We would certainly recommend it to others and if we come back to Malaga would have no hesitation in booking it again.

Quiet, Lovely House in a Quiet Lovely Town

  • 5 of 5

We were somewhat leery about staying in this town because we thought it would be too far from everything. We were pleasantly surprised. This beautiful, clean house is situated on a hill with gorgeous views of the mountains. The kitchen is very large and well stocked. The pool was perfect and very clean. We did not want for anything. The location is perfect. Not too far from the beaches (1/2 an hour by car), about an hour from Granada and Ronda and 1/2 hour from Malaga. There is a billiard table and a ping pong table and an outdoor seating area where we ate all our meals, and we cooked almost every night. There is place to barbeque as well. The house was very comfortable for our 10 person retreat. We tried making mojitos one night but the local grocery store had no mint. Much to our surprise our kids found fresh mint in the garden while looking for a lost ball. Mojito night was salvaged! For a larger grocery shopping store you must drive about 15 minutes, but the store is huge. Air conditioners worked great as well as the washer and dryer. The local town was quaint. We enjoyed doing our local shopping there. Not a bad wine in the store. We went to one bar for tapas and enjoyed ourselves. The home is very very quiet and off the beaten path so there is absolutely no noise whatsoever at night. Overall, we had a very relaxing time. We would go back and highly recommend this home.

The restricted height mezzanine sleeping area has 2 single beds but we don’t consider it is suitable for children under 6 yrs old due to the steep stairs. The mezzanine level also gets hot during July and August as it is at the top of the house with heat rising during the day. The A/C just does not seem to cool it down very effectively during August. Lots of books, CD's, games and DVDs to keep everyone entertained. A high chair, booster chair, stair gates and travel cot are all available on request. Children are very welcome. The house has 4 large terraces, 2 on the ground floor and 2 off the upstairs bedrooms.
