Guestbook comments from the owner

We enjoyed our stay at Heron Lodge very much. We loved the peaceful woodland setting and watching the birds feed on the bird table each morning.

We took our pet dog and he loved his walks and being able to sit out in the rear garden and sun himself.

The lodge was well equipped , clean and well presented. A great base to take in the surrounding area of Dumfries and Galloway.

We will definitely return and have already told our friends about this little gem ! For the price we paid we got more than we ever expected , never stayed anywhere so well equipped as Heron Lodge and owner very helpful on our booking.

Great lodge in wonderful location.

  • 4 of 5

Had a fabulous time at Heron Lodge. The location was a perfect base for exploring the surrounding countryside. Close to beaches and forest, and the drive round the Solway Coast is stunning. Amazing views from the lodge, it had everything you need for a peaceful relaxing stay. Breakfast on the patio and lazy evenings sitting in the garden, or going for a stroll to Mabie Forest.

This was a superb and comfortable holiday cabin.

  • 5 of 5

A brilliantly appointed cabin with all mod cons necessary, clean, cosy and in beautifully attractive surroundings with great views across open farmland. All local amenities and places of interest well advertised and quick/simple to find.Possibly the best cabin on the site. W.C. diaphragm probably needs repair. Otherwise no complaints and would welcome a return visit/give recommendations.
