Luxurious country house with large pool, and panoramic views

Overview

Property

Updated: 29-Sep-2016
5 Bedrooms, 5 ensuite bathrooms very recently modernised, sleeps 9 comfortably

L'Ange du Cedre is a beautiful ‘Maison de Maitre’ (country house) set in the heart of a 180 year old, 35 acre estate in the Var. It is surrounded by ancient Olive Groves with Vineyards behind it. The 450m2 of living accommodation has been recently modernised, and now sleeps 8-9 people comfortably. It has a 12x5 m swimming pool and kids' playarea. The estate is situated near the lively village of Flayosc, and has uninterrupted views of the Massif de Maures mountain range. While only being minutes away from the village, the estate is a haven of peace and tranquillity, with frequent deer, owls, bats, eagles and hares - a safe environment for the kids. Smaller shops and supermarkets are available in Flayosc, with larger hypermarkets, cinemas and even a theatre accessible in the town of Draguignan. Cycling, Fishing, Hunting, Riding and Tennis are all available within a 10 mile radius, while all water sports can be reached with a 40 minute drive to the coast.

Fantastic house for entertaining

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for two weeks and had the most brilliant holiday - the house and grounds were so lovely we barely went out at all. Lots of space downstairs with different rooms so people don't get on top of each other. Comfortable furniture and beds. Efficient problem fixing and cleaner. Pool a lovely size with a proper dead end and great lounging chairs. Would recommend to anyone.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and spacious. Set in peaceful location yet still close enough the shops to savour French cuisine. The owner was very helpful and responded promptly tp our requests.

Would recommend to anyone

Fabulous Villa

  • 5 of 5

Each year we struggle to find a perfect location for myself and my extended family to holiday, but this fabulous villa was the perfect location to base our trip and unwind. The kids loved the pool and the total seclusion helped us unwind. The views from the house were spectacular .The house itself was done furnished to a extremely high standard and we we able to visit the lively local village to try out our French . All in all we has a fantastic break.

Fabulous property

  • 5 of 5

What a fabulous property! My family and I had a wonderful, wonderful stay. Such a spacious house - a separate room for the kids to play in whilst the adults could retreat to the lounge - beautiful balconies overlooking the stunning valley, two separate verandas so you could pick whether you fancied a bit of sun or shade, huge lovely pool, excellent sized rooms with modern bathrooms - we couldn't fault it.

The house is evidently a home, rather than just a rental. The kitchen is well stocked with quality equipment and crockery, and a great coffee machine. There are toys to keep the kids happy, and mountains of books for the adults.

The location is perfect for anyone wanting to get away and soak up some fresh air - during our stay we never heard another soul. Its also only 10 mins to a great bakery so you don't have to go far for your croissants.

We've been going to France for the last 5 years and this is by far the best place we've stayed. The owner was also very pleasant and fair - which isn't the case for many owners.

I can't recommend it enough. Nichola

Nearest Airport : Nice/Toulon airports at 80 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Flayosc at 3 Kilometres Nearest Golf : St Endreol at 12 Kilometres Nearest Train : Draguignan-Les Arcs at 17 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : Le Muy at 15 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Several in Flayosc at 3 Kilometres Nearest Ski : Val D'Allos at 90 Kilometres Nearest Beach : St Aygulf at 35 Kilometres Car: recommended

Flayosc is the perfect location to relax and enjoy the beauty of Provence, only 40 minutes away from the busy tourist spots of the coast. The village offers excellent shops for food, a weekly market, pharmacy, bank, several bars and restaurants, laundry/dry-cleaner and wine co-operative. It also has a tourist office offering excellent information about the area. Flayosc was a Roman settlement with a Roman road passing nearby. The village was defended by its circular wall of houses. In the wall you'll find three saracen doors and there are several ancient fountains. In the centre of the village stands the large St. Laurent church, which dates back to the 11th century, with its fortified and decorated bell tower. We are situated only 40 minutes away from the sandy beaches of the St. Tropez bay and the dramatic scenery of Gorges de Verdon, the Grand Canyon of Europe. Perched medieval villages, olive mills, daily markets and 15 golf courses are within easy reach.

Other Activities: Golf is 35min away, as is diving, water skiing, wind surfing, and sailing. Ski stations are 2 hours away.

Golf: The property is close to several golf courses in the region. Prices range from about 60 to 100 Euros per round, but you can buy 'carnets' or books of tickets which work out slightly cheaper.

The course which this owner uses is St Endreol, which is about a 25 minutes drive, and which has a spa and a restaurant attached to it to relax in after your game. It is quite a hilly course but buggies are provided at reasonable rates.
