2 bed apartment in an old Sherry Bodega : sleeps up to 6 - near harbour a/c

Andalucia have changed the law and now require registration and payment for renting of holiday apartments. I am currently NOT TAKING BOOKINGS while I consider whether to continue renting as the payment is more than makes sense and would mean that I likely not cover my costs.


The best of all words: new build 2 bed apartment (2004) on edge of old town, close to everything and communal swimming pool. Sleeps 6.

Suitable for holidays all year round - From Carnival in February until Christmas and New Year.

Excellent for the MotoGP and other races at Jerez racetrack.

Short walk to local town beach - local bus to numerous other beaches. 20 minutes from airport - Part-week lets and midweek start/finish available outside peak season. RyanAir fly to Jerez and Seville - transfer time from Jerez is 20 minutes by car or you can get a train from the airport at certain parts of the day. Seville is at most 1½hours by car - or you could get the train - Seville Train Station is a 30Euro ride from the airport and there are trainsto El Puerto approximately every ½ hour. Gibraltar is 120km and an alternative airport to come in to. With the new bridge Cadiz is only a 25 minute journey by car.

The apartment has all you need with some basic beach equipment you can borrow and use. The dining area has a table and seating for 4 and the large terrace has a table and 6 chairs. There is a sofa bed in the living room and a separate reading area. There is a secure underground parking garage with an allocated parking space.

This is a new 2 bedroom apartment built inside the facade of an old bodega in El Puerto de Santa Maria. Within walking distance of all the old town's tourist attractions and close to the riverside restaurant area of the town. The apartment has a small pool open in the summer months and underground parking and is in a secure gated compound. You can catch the local bus to the resort areas of Valdelagrana and Vistahermosa - and the town beach is a 30 minute walk from the apartment.

The apartment has a television and dvd player, full kitchen with microwave/oven/grill combo, and washing machine. It sleeps up to 6 and has marble floors throughout. This apartment has a large private terrace. There is also a private courtyard terrace situated off the kitchen.

central air for cooling AND heating means you will always be at a comfortable temperature in this apartment. The evaporator is on the roof so the cooling and heating is silent - bliss!

About the Owner

We bought this when it was newly built in 2005. We have loved coming here all year round - for the carnival in February / March and especially for June/July and August. When I was pregnant with my son I came in November and took a language course near the bullring - walking every day to and from the apartment in a teeshirt!. Now I enjoy more family holidays with our young son and family and we go to the aquapark and send long days at the beach. We still plan to come for the spring fair /sherry festival and European MotoGP opening round which is usually at the beginning of May every year at Jerez. - So much to see and do here - and so many restaurants that you never run out of choice of what to do for dinner - or lunch!

A lovely apartment in a great location.

The instructions for our apartment were easy to understand. We were met on our arrival and shown around. It was well equipped and had a great out door space for eating and relaxing. The standard of furnishings was good and the washing machine was a bonus. There were 3 adults in our party and accommodation would have slept 6.

The location was excellent. We could walk easily around the town and we were across from the station if we wanted to venture further afield. The ferry to Cadiz was in walking distance and is a trip worth taking. Jerez is around a 20 minute drive. I suggest that information on local sites and maps would be welcome in the apartment although there is a tourist information office in the town. There was under ground parking which was a bonus. I would definitely recommend this apartment.

4 nights in Puerto de Santa Maria in May 2016

Visiting the area to see the Jerez Horse Fair and Puerto de Santa Maria was very convenient.

We travelled into Jerez by train which was easy, quick and cheap. Accommodation is situated opposite to the railway station.

Also went into Cadiz for a day via the ferry. Again very reasonably priced and Cadiz is well worth seeing.

Accommodation was fine for two people tho' it does having sleeping for four. Double bed was comfortable and everywhere was very clean.

Small outside area with garden furniture enabled us to eat outside as weather was gorgeous.

Puerto de Santa Maria is much bigger than anticipated with miles of narrow streets to explore and lots of places to eat.

We were on foot and did find a supermarket hard to find.

Adequate customer service from the person who met us off the train, showed us the accommodation and gave us the keys and told us about a local festival that was taking place.

Furnishings were a little tired and perhaps could do with new sofas. Also the kitchen needs decluttering.

We would have no problem spending time here again and it was an ideal four night stopover. Served the purpose very well.

Ideal location for old town and exploring.

The apartment is only a 10 minute stroll to the old town where there are a variety of good restaurants and a good atmosphere. The apartment also has secure underground parking and is on the edge of town making touring around very easy (as we were doing on a mini golfing trip). The owner and her agent were extremely helpful, both in providing inital information, and also on arrival. The apartment was well furnished, but would, I think, be a bit too small for 6 people. However with the ample terrace, lounge and 2 bedrooms it would be good for a slightly smaller party.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the apartment for the type of break we were on, and we would certainly hope to rent it again if we return to the area.

this is a lovely little property - the proportions are larger than your average spanish holiday flat. Some people live in the complex all year round so it's not deserted off season and perfect for a visit all year round.

There are many large and beautiful beaches around the El Puerto area. LaBarossa beach is 10 km long and a 20 minute drive away. El Puerto's Bull ring is famous - holding up to 15,000 and there are many fights throughout the summer months. El Puerto is part of the Sherry Triangle and there are several Bodegas in the town where you can visit to taste and see how they make the various sherries and brandies.

El Puerto has two marinas and fishing plays a big part of the life here - El Puerto is famous for its seafood restaurants. You can get the ferry to Cadiz, and the train to Jerez, Cadiz, Seville and Madrid. Gibraltar is about a 2 hour drive and from there you could catch a boat to Morrocco and make a day trip out of it. Cadiz is famous for its carnival in February and the MotoGP is held at Jerez in spring every year.
