About John G Franzese

Under new ownership. Robert, John, & Charles Franzese

(RJCF Enterprises, LLC.) purchased the property in September of 2017 from Diane & Tony Bozzelli. Our goal is to maintain the same level of cleanliness and satisfaction that the Bozzelli's had maintained while making some improvements to the property. We hope to see returning guests that have enjoyed the property in the past as well as welcome new guests to our property. Some of the things we have already begun is clearing some of the distressed trees from the front of the property which has also improved the lake view. We've added attic insulation to make the house more comfortable in warm and cold weather. We intend to paint the exterior of the house as soon as weather permits as well as doing some landscaping to improve the overall look of the property. We will be adding new pictures in the coming months to try and give a better idea of what the entire property offers as well as more lake view and sunset pictures over beautiful Seneca Lake. We were born and raised in Watkins Glen, Chuck & John live locally and brother BoB lives in Kansas City Ks.

We'd like to welcome you to the area and hope you will visit us and all the area has to offer.

What makes this house unique

Nice private setting with no one to bother you during your stay. Can't beat the views as mentioned, but also with plenty of outdoor furniture to put where you want on the property and a charcoal grill on wheels, you can enjoy the views as well as the nice yard. The bedrooms are all on the 2nd floor, with only 3 steps down to get into the house. Spend time on the enclosed front porch overlooking Seneca Lake. Only one mile outside the charming village of Watkins Glen.

A wonderful wine country home on the hill.

  • 5 of 5

The house inside has been lovingly worked on with gorgeous 100 year old floors. The kitchen was supplied with all necessary supplies and we enjoyed dining on the enclosed front porch.

The street traffic is active during morning and late afternoon but did not bother us at all.

The beds were comfortable and all sheets/blankets was Were on the beds. The whole house was very clean.

The owners offered any needed assistance and were very easy to work with.

Watkins Glen Farmhouse

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this farmhouse near Watkins Glen. The house, situated on a large lot overlooking Seneca Lake, was clean, spacious, and nicely furnished. The kitchen was stocked with various spices , so check the cupboards before you go shopping. The beds were very comfortable ensuring a good night's sleep after a busy day exploring this part of the Finger Lakes. Because of its location, we were able to take in a lot of the sights. Hiking to the top of the gorge at the Watkins Glen State Park is well worth the effort. We got to drive the racetrack at the Watkins Glen International Raceway, and also enjoyed visiting the various wineries. We were able to take the short drive into Ithaca and see some of the sights there. Diane and Tony were helpful in recommending restaurants and places to see in the area. We would recommend this rental and would definitely return if in the area again.

Saving as one of my favorites!

  • 5 of 5

We are so happy to have come across this vacation home. Diane and Tony have taken a comfortable old farmhouse with a beautiful view of Seneca Lake and turned it into a wonderful retreat. The house is instantly welcoming - clean, spacious, beautiful hardwood floors, lovely porch overlooking the lake, comfortable beds and an overall peaceful environment. It feels very private as there is greenery and fence between neighbors and is situated on a bit of property perfect for viewing the sunset.

We found the location for sightseeing to be perfect. 10-15 minutes from Watkins Glen - which is truly spectacular. Very close to nice restaurants, wineries, breweries, shops and stores. (love the Stone Cat Cafe, Two Goats Brewing, Skyland Art Barn, Ben & Jerry's, Seneca Harbor Station) Only about 30-40 minutes to great parks in Ithaca - Robert Treman, Taughannock, Buttermilk Falls, etc. Driving around the area is enjoyable too - lots of woods, views of the lakes, farmland. Also good for exploring the beautiful campus of Cornell and downtown Ithaca (Be ready for traffic downtown and avoid rush hour if you can). It was great to take my Mom to the iconic Moosewood Restaurant in Ithaca :)

Our host was helpful and in communication with us whenever we needed anything. The house also had many booklets and maps to help with our day trip planning. We hiked, swam and kayaked and had a restful home base to return to every evening. It was really lovely. We would gladly return and will definitely recommend to friends.

Historic Gem in Wine Country

  • 5 of 5

Rented this AMAZING property for a Phish festival at Watkins Glen. House is immaculate, furnished beautifully, and the best place I have stayed in Watkins Glen. The kitchen was large enough to cook a full breakfast and dinner every day! No detail is overlooked. Unfortunately we had a friend cut himself, and there was a FULLY stocked first aid kit. Close to wineries, the racetrack, and swimming in Seneca Lake. Highly recommended!
