Room with a view
The apartment is exactly as advertised with a magnificent view from the downstairs living room and upstairs master bedroom. There is also a good view of the lagoon from the second bedroom. The kitchen could have done with a few more glasses to use and a kettle for the people from the UK who prefer tea to coffee. None of this was a problem though. We always ate out but if wanting to eat in I would suggest doing a shop at the main supermarket a couple of blocks away and getting all your main food first. There is a local Oxxo shop just outside the main gates, which provides basic things. There is also a restaurant called Naturel and a 24 hour burrito place called Surfer’s Burrito that I would recommend visiting. Naturel was great especially for a good breakfast. The apartment is close by everything, and we never felt unsafe walking about anytime even after a late night at Coco Bongos. You do get pestered a lot by the touts but just smile and say no quiero gracias. If you go out later you are less bothered (say after 8:30pm)
The beach is great and the sea, if not a little rough (but great fun) when we went as it was very windy. Plenty of room to sit and soak up the sun. All in all a great place to go and you will be looked after very well by Maria and Rosy. One last thing the buses are cheap (12 pesos a trip) and extremely frequent up and down the main road, if not a little mad, a must do experience. Trips out are a little expensive and you will always be encouraged to buy other things such as photos and upgrades but we enjoyed the trips we did. Hopefully this review will help. You will certainly enjoy opening the curtains from your bed and seeing the sun rise and the sea seem like it is part of your room.
