Almost Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

When we have been asked on our return to Australia "How was it?" our stock answer has been that "if we could get on a plane and return to Harmoniamundi on Campo dei Fiori we would - it was almost perfect!"

But some advice. If you are thinking of staying in this property in the near future make your booking soon. As word gets around as to how good an experience it is, it will become very popular and vacancies will be rare. Our extended stay in Steve and Michele's delightful apartment was everything we could have wished for and more. Its location is so central to everything you come to Rome to see and do. The Vatican, Panthenon, Piazza Navona, Forum, Colesseum, Trevi Fountain, Castel S'Angelo, Trastevere district are all within 5 to 20 minutes walking distance. And if you don't want to walk busses, trams and taxis are only five minutes away. But you might just want to experience and enjoy what Campo dei Fiori has to offer - the daytime markets, the street vendors and entertainers, the restaurants, fornos, small goods stores, cafes and typical Italian ambience. The surrounding streets, alleys, piazzas are replete with palazzos (the fabulous Pallazo Farnese is only 150 metres from the apartment) historic buildings, churches, artisan and antique shops and workshops and the like. And the longer you stay the more you find. And then to return to recover and relax in this fully fitted out and beautifully decorated and appointed apartment ...ah bliss! And Steve and Michele are just what you want landlords to be - generous, available when you need them, unseen and unobtrusive at other times and ever so friendly and helpful.

Almost perfect? Beyond the control of Steve and Michele the exterior of the building was undergoing renovations and had scaffolding and protective covering over the façade and we couldn't sit on the balcony, glass of vino rosso in hand and watch the goings on in the campo below. But no worry - we threw the windows open and got the sounds and smells and then wandered down, glass of vino rosso still in hand, to listen to cellist and guitarist duo or to watch the spray paint artist at work, say hello to the market vendors and try the pesto or truffle spread on the bread from the forno and join in the fun. Steve and Michele were exasperated and apologetic but expect the covers to be off by year's end.

Go on - give yourself a treat and book this property, the longer the better. But...leave time available for our certain return next year.

All that it looks like and more!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 4 days in late September. Currently the building is wrapped for construction - meaning you are unable to use the windows and patios - but despite this, our stay was fabulous and I would highly recommend it. Excellent location, clean and quiet.

Great Location with Bakery and Market outside your door!

  • 4 of 5

What an amazing location! You're just at Campo De' Fiore which has an outdoor market every day so you can buy fresh vegetables and fruit. There's a nice bakery around the corner to pick up croissants as well.

The hosts are lovely and very responsive whenever we had any questions or problems. The air conditioning was great and wifi was good compared to some of the other places we stayed at in Italy.

We were worried at first about the noise of the square and being above a restaurant, but that was fine. Our biggest noise problem was the people above us. I'm not sure if there is no insulation between the ceiling and floor above, but we could hear every step taken upstairs. It wasn't too bad if you slept late or woke early but very annoying if you tried to have a siesta in the afternoon or wanted a later start in the morning. My suggestion would be to bring ear plugs.

Best location in Rome

  • 5 of 5

Great week in a beautiful apartment. Well equipped. Great decor. Location can't be beat. Down a flight of stairs and right in the middle of everything. Hosts were responsive and we will return.

We'd stay here again

  • 5 of 5

I was surprised that four introverts would enjoy staying in a place located in such a busy area, but we loved it. The apartment is spacious and Steven was extraordinarily helpful every step of the way, both before and during our stay. There was some additional noise from construction, which didn't bother most of us, but my daughter said that it sounded like people were bowling in the middle of the night on the floor above her bedroom. We just got home from our stay there (June 2017) and we were extremely thankful for the air conditioning. We'd get back from walking all around Rome in the heat and be able to cool off. The location is ideal for going out and seeing the sights. It was our first visit to Rome. If we return, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Beautiful home

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful stop in an amazing journey across Italy! The home is just as it's pictured. It's beautiful and clean, and we appreciated the air conditioning after battling the 90-degree days. The home is conveniently located and owner Steve was very helpful and accommodating. Our only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer!
