Opposite the flats, on the other side of Hotel Toni, you will find Pichldorfl, where Pichlhofstrasse leads to Lederergasse, from where you can walk up to the Maiskogelweg (35). When we first took this way we made it a circular walk, but it is possible to walk up to the top of the Maiskogel. After walking up a wide track for a while, from where you can see spectacular views of snow covered mountain, you are lead into a path through a wooded area. On coming out of the wood you will find a rickety bench with great views over the Kaprun valley. As you carry on walking up you may even see a large horse grazing. Please go to Tourist Information Office in Kaprun for more details of walking in the area.

We also met a couple of small ponies at the farm and inn Weisssteinalm. Here we turned back downhill towards Kaprun

Perfectly located apartment in lovely Kaprun

  • 4 of 5

" This was our second year in this great little apartment.

It is perfect for us, a family of 4.

You are at the right end of town,

5 mins drive up to the gondola, decent supermarket 2 mins away and tasty traditional Austrian restaurant just behind the apartment.

My children love Kaprun as there are some extra things to do after a days skiing.

Relax in the spa or speed downhill in the toboggan ride. . "

Lovely place albeit not very warm

  • 3 of 5

The heating isn't quite up to colder weather.

For internet I would suggest the A1 Internet cube for 100 Euros, which includes 30 Euros for a months unlimited access, which can be got from the A1 shop in the middle of Zell am See.

Handy for Bella Casa restaurant underneath, and near bus stop to the mountain, as well as Billa supermarket across the river.

Convenient Studio Apartment

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was perfect for us. It was spotlessly clean and we loved to come home after a day's skiing and sit in the sun on the balcony having a drink and a snack. We came to ski, so we liked the glacier the most! Easy drive up to the car park and hassle free parking. We had trips Tobogganing and to the spa. We would like to come back in the summer to do some walking and cycling We would recommend this property . "
