Fantastic stay
Had a really great short stay at Gulls Cry. The cottage is fantastic. Very comfortable and superbly renovated. The cottage is in a great location - very central but equally nice and quiet. Colin was superb - provided lots of help and local information. Would love to stay again and can definitely recommend.

About the host

Hosted by Colin

Host profile image
After visiting Whitby as a boy with my parents many times it became a Boyhood dream of owning an Old Fishermans Cottage in Whitby.
This came to fruition in 2010 when buying a "VERY" rundown dilapidated Cottage.
After many frustrating months/years nearly, also filled with enjoyment and huge learning curves the refurbishment of Gulls Cry was complete and as we see and enjoy it today.

Why they chose this property

A traditional 360yr old Fishermans Cottage that was originally 2 Cottages, now knocked into one to make quite a spacious Holiday Cottage.
The refurbishment was designed and executed by myself and a 78 year old Master Craftsman who still works today at over 84 and took 18mths to complete.
No attention to detail was overlooked making it a Superb Cottage for your special stay in Whitby.

What makes this property unique

Close to everything Central in Whitby yet tucked away for privacy when you get tired of the hustle & bustle. Lovely private outside space which most Cottages do not have and a little summer House to sit and relax in.
Large screen LED TV with Firestick / Wifi throughout & Alexa controlled lounge lighting
Refurbished to a very high standard, modern yet in traditional style with bespoke oak double glazing.
