Overview

About the property

This cozy apartment is an upstairs studio of approximately 550 square feet in a historic building in the center of Silverton, Colorado at the corner of Greene Street and 13th Street. Greene Street is the main street in town. Silverton is located at 9,318 feet elevation. With no elevator available, renters need to be able to handle the stairs. There is a handrail and a landing for catching your breath.

This charming two room, one bathroom apartment is most comfortable for two. The main room is furnished with a queen bed, dresser, closet, end tables, couch (fold out double bed), coffee table, Samsung Smart T.V. and Blu-ray dvd player.

The kitchen is equipped with a small apartment stove and oven, full size refrigerator, microwave, and dinette table with four chairs. The bathroom has a pedestal sink, toilet, and a shower. The rooms are bright with large, south facing windows with a view of 13th Street and Sultan Mountain. A covered back deck includes two chairs for viewing the night sky or enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning. (No outdoor cooking is available on the deck.) Downstairs covered storage for bicycles, motorcyles, etc. (up to 55" wide) is available. Everything in town is within walking distance to include restaurants, shops, train, historic buildings, and the museum.

There may be an opportunity to book this unit along with the Greene St. Loft, giving you room to sleep 8 on the same floor. See VRBO listing # 1055900, and the calendar showing availability. The Greene St. Loft is a two bedroom, two bath apartment. It sits at the top of the stairs, a hallway's length away from the 13th St. Studio Loft. Both lofts have their own locked door and share a common locked door at the street level.

Cute space in historic building

  • 5 of 5

The studio is well-represented by the photos posted. It's a cute space, and has small details like a variety of books and movies that were appreciated. There were some complimentary toiletries, but bring your own for a stay of more than a couple nights. The first night we were kept up by a dripping kitchen faucet, but when we reported it in the morning, it was taken care of expediently the same day while we were out, with a whole new assembly. The building has old-time character and was a good place to hang our hats.

Really nice looking place

  • 4 of 5

The loft was great for our 5 day stay. We were able to cook and enjoy town. The neighbors were very friendly and welcomed us. Our only concern was that being down town it was noisy at night. I'm not sure what everyone was out doing since not a restaurant or store is open past 8, but it was had to have the windows open.

Historic, great location

  • 4 of 5

This is the one BR studio unit. Great location at heart of Silverton, across the street from Handlebars restaurant. Super comfy bed. Lots of towels, linens. Amazon TV (no live TV, but you're not there to watch TV, right?). Good wifi. Full size kitchen. No AC - box fan provided. Tiny bathroom, but space well managed. No washer/dryer. Generous bath and kitchen starter kit. Everything you need, nothing you don't. Not glamorous or swanky, but perfect for comfort and basics.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We agree that the location of our studio is great. Everything is within walking distance: restaurants, shops, historic buildings, library, museum, and hiking trails. Thank you for your comment on the comfy bed. We provide high quality bed linens and bath towels. The queen pillow-top bed is equipped with a blanket as well as a duvet covered down comforter. While we do not carry local television channels, we pay for two subscriptions for our renters: Amazon T.V. and Netflix. In addition, the unit has a DVD player. Silverton’s wonderful library allows Silverton’s visitors to check out movies from their fairly extensive collection. We recently updated to the fastest Wi-Fi available in Silverton at this time for residential units. Future renters need to know that air conditioning is not common in Silverton in either private homes or hotels. The average daily summer temperature of Silverton rarely exceeds the mid 70s. Evening summer temperatures average in the high 30s. In lieu of a box fan, the studio is equipped with two ceiling fans, one in the main living/sleeping area, and the other in the kitchen. We recently installed wall-mounted controls for both the fans. Again, thank you for taking the time to review our studio.

The Loft was quaint and comfortable.

It met all our needs but we were unable to get the television to work properly. Melissa was very helpful.
