Overview

About the property

2 bedroom cottage in a quiet hamlet of The Cotswolds

Perfect for romancers who crave warm cosy nights in, fine country dining at award winning pubs and restaurants nearby and glorious walks along the Cotswold Way, in neighbouring Broadway and Winchcombe. With beautiful county walks from the doorstep, pack your wellies and hiking boots to make the most of this area of outstanding natural beauty. A packed folder of colourful plotted walks to follow, has been lovingly collected over the years and awaits the intrepid explorer.

The cottage has been designed with warm country style interiors downstairs and restful, cool greys and blues upstairs. Brand new furniture throughout was installed in February 2017. Snuggle up on the plump leather sofas and relax together with that large glass of velvety red wine, followed by a long hot soak in the ample sized bath and drift away the night in the sumptuous Sleepeze beds topped with goose and feather down duvets.

This Cotswold escape is located in an exclusive avenue of 9 individual properties. It is warmed by gas central heating and comprises a well equipped kitchen, including fridge/freezer, oven, microwave and dishwasher. The Dining area is open plan with a solid oak dining table comfortably seating 4 people on red leather chairs. The Sitting room hosts two red brick leather sofas to lounge on. The décor downstairs is splashes of reds and oranges. Upstairs, are two double bedrooms housing a King size bed in the master bedroom and a double bed in the second bedroom. Both rooms house built in wardrobes and are decorated in cool greys and blues to help our guests unwind. The bathroom benefits from a good sized power shower head over the bath allowing the choice for either that brisk early morning start or a long lingering soak in the evening.

The peaceful, leafy approach to the cottage is coupled with a fully enclosed and secure, landscaped south facing garden with side access, into the garage. This is where boots should be removed and left, along with doggie towels to rub muddy paws before going back into the house. Please note only 1 dog permitted.

There is off road parking outside for 2 vehicles. Please either park right up in front of the garage or in front of the car port near the front door.

This Gloucestershire idyl is also perfectly located to explore cosmoplitan Cheltenham and enjoy the Cheltenham Gold Cup Racing.

About Suzie Windscheffel

I live 10 minutes from the cottage with my husband, daughter and son. We have lived in this area for 22 years, although originally born and bred in nearby Cheltenham. Most of my working life has been in the property industry and last year we bought our first holiday home, in nearby Alderton. This property sleeps 8 people and I got so much pleasure out of providing a stylish, comfortable home for our guests to stay and even more joy, hearing how they had had the best time in our home from a good nights sleep with the comfy beds to being provided with everything they needed. This then lead to purchasing a second holiday home and I have equally enjoyed decorating this cottage in a warm country style for the romantics!

Why Suzie Windscheffel chose Tewkesbury district

We bought this property because of its quiet location within a tranquil leafy hamlet. It is a cosy 2 bedroom cottage which meant we could gear this up more towards the couples market. We love it so much, my husband and I have said when we eventually retire, we will live in this property.

There are gorgeous walks in all directions, directly from the house and the Cotswold Way is accessed from nearby Broadway and Winchcombe. It is ideal for those looking for a peaceful, get away from it all rural break. It has the perfect mix of lush green, undulating scenery nearby, and being able to enjoy plenty of art and culture, and fine dining in local award winning pubs and restaurants.

What makes this cottage unique

The thing that immediately attracted us to this cottage was the quiet, leafy avenue the property sits in. It is one of 9 unique properties that vary in size and style, from 2 to 5 beds. Hopefully, guests will approve of the decor and everything is brand new, including comfy Sleepeze beds.

Superbly located comfortable modern cottage

  • 4 of 5

Church View is in a newish development of character cottages just outside Toddington, with its excellent pub and steam railway. The cottage itself is very well equipped, comfortable and dog friendly, and perfectly located for visiting the delightful villages of the Cotswold, such as Bourton on the Water and Broadway.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is simply lovely, nicely decorated and very well equipped. The location is great - walking distance to local pub and supermarket and easy access to the local villages and walks. Everything was perfect!
