House was overrated
We think the house was overpriced as we have stayed in a lot of property’s around the world and have become to learn what one can expect for the price paid on renting houses We also rent our own properties and know what people expect for the price they pay This house was not what we expected The owners were very nice people but not really aware of the problems in the house The beds were very old and noisy, carpets thread bare in places The TV was small for size of room and very out dated The main fireplace was unusable as broken front The dishwasher was broken but if careful you could use it The oven and hob very old and not very clean The kitchen utensils were very worn There was no broom mop or hover The dogs kept getting out as the gate was broken and not replaced The BBQ was small broken and dirty and had to clean to use it Windows were dirty No sun beds and garden furniture was uncomfortable and very tired There was no washing line and the clothes airer was broken Although the house had a lot of history and character it was in need of a deal of attention We were looking forward to staying in such a beautiful looking property but were disappointed as it was tired looking and not up to renting at this price.

What an idyllic place to spend time with the family
The house and location were absolutely wonderful. The galley kitchen worked well and the layout of the house allowed us all to enjoy our stay in a most beautiful setting. Located so close to Salcombe and Kingsbridge, we were spoilt for things to do. The children loved the pool, games room and tennis court whilst Bruno (our dog) loved the garden and fabulous walls from the house. Thank you so much!

Ample space, lovely home and heaps of facilities
Thank you so much for a fantastic few days. You have a really lovely home. Bathrooms and kitchen all shiny and clean and we had lovely fresh bedlinen. The sunny weather helped enormously and we spent the majority of the time spilling out onto the lawn. It was great to have the front door wide open and the kids running in and out. With a tennis court and swimming pool on site, the children had a ball. We were two families which initially concerned me that we might be a little cramped, but the house felt spacious and there was plenty of room. Despite there being a huge separate dining room, meals tended to be taken on the large lawn in front of the house which was completely private and had fantastic views down the valley. There were lovely beaches at Slapton, Salcombe and Bantham which were a drive away but worth it when we got there. However, it was also great to return to the peace and tranquility of Stancombe - the perfect escape from the crowds. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful!
Thank-you for a wonderful stay at the Manor. The house is amazing , with beautiful Georgian architecture. We fell in love with its charm and character. The decor is relaxed giving a nice homely feel. The kitchen is very well equiped and clean. The family had more than enough to do and especially loved the pool and tennis courts. Doggy friendly with walks from the garden gates. Centrally located for beaches . Especially liked east Portlemouth/Salcombe. The owner was lovely and easy to communicate with, nice touches like bottles of wine and a card waiting for us on arrival and flowers in vases. Another shower would have been good but overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property.
