About this property

Pretty Stone Cottage: Hot Tub, Real Fire, Wifi & Riverside Views

Come and spend some time in beautiful mid Wales! Mill House is a characterful 200 year old stone cottage with exposed original beams and a real fire in an inglenook hearth, situated in a beautiful riverside location on the edge of the Brecon National Park in mid/south Wales. It's an ideal base for walking, fishing, birdwatching, golf, cycling, boating, canoeing and canal adventures, or you can just relax and enjoy the magnificent scenery ! Watch red kites swoop overhead, or salmon leap in the river in autumn!

New cedar hot tub installed in May 2017 for exclusive use by guests!

The cottage is private and is set in a quiet rural location. A beautiful romantic retreat or a great base for family fun! Mill House has a living room with a real fire, sumptuous comfy sofas and a large 'smart' TV (for Netflix, Amazon Prime etc); fibreoptic wifi; a well-equipped kitchen with oven and hob, microwave, washer/dryer, fridge, freezer; and a spacious dining room. The dining room opens onto a balcony and patio areas - both overlooking the pretty river. Ideal for relaxing with a drink and a good book! Upstairs, there is the main tiled bathroom with toilet, vanity unit and deep bath; a comfy double bedroom; and two single bedrooms - one has an en suite equipped with toilet, washbasin and power shower.

The cottage is 5 miles north of Brecon, with two supermarkets, a cinema, theatre, leisure centre, visitors' centre, quaint individual shops, and a wide selection of cafes and restaurants serving locally-sourced food and drink. There are two golf courses within a few miles of the cottage, and the beautiful book town of Hay-on-Wye is only a short drive away (15 miles). It is a stunning area for walkers with waterfalls, woodland, and open moorland to explore. Come and enjoy your very own rural retreat !

Love the hot tub!
A perfect cottage for a week in the Brecon Beacons. Well appointed, clean and a very pretty conversion. The hot tub was definitely the star of the show to ease muscles after a long day walking. Only negative is the fact its not to easy to park in front of the cottage as the flagstones on the lip of the drive were loose, but this is super minor in the context of a well appointed and furnished property

Relaxation at its best
This was such a lovely well needed break. The cottage is quaint with everything you may need. My particular favourite thing is the hot tub, which is just the ticket after a long day of walking around the beautiful Welsh countryside. Will definitely be returning !!!

Lovely quiet honeymoon getaway
Stayed for a week in December and was everything we hoped it would be. Quiet location in a very beautiful setting. Warm and cosy cottage with a lovely log burner and a well kept and very welcom hot tub. Beds are really comfy and bathrooms clean and tidy. My only recommendation would be to have some grit available in winter as the driveway is quite steep and too icy to park our car on. Would highly recommend and we're already looking at availability in the summer

Excellent Cottage, Great Location
We have a brilliant and memorable time in the cottage. The tranquility of the passing river and the remoteness were great. The hot tub was a bonus and a big hit with our teenagers. The cottage is cosy and area quiet and relaxing.
