Guestbook comments from the owner

We have stayed in many nice places throughout Ireland but this one is very special. We loved the paintings and photos on the walls which gave the house a welcoming and homely feel.

lovely house in a lovely place

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely week in Annagry, the house is great, very clean and comfortable and very well equipped. There is a beautiful garden with intimate outside seating areas. the walk to the sea is through a bit of a wilderness area which was very popular with the children, bring wellies its muddy. There are fantastic beaches a short drive away.

The home you want!

  • 5 of 5

Our family have fallen in love with this house. We arrived on a dark, rainy, windy night to a lovely welcome from Brid. This house is simply beautiful. Everything has been well thought out with the games for entertainment, varied selection of DVDs and books. The house is modern, warm, with a fully kitted kitchen with dish washer, filter coffee machine, microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer. If you have kids you will spend endless hours going upstairs to say 'hi ya' to those below. The views from the house are stunning and the surrounding areas are also amazing - be sure to visit Glenveagh National Forest Park. We will definitely be back to stay :-)

Great house wonderful view

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time staying here, the location was perfect. We enjoyed many a wonderful sunsets and eating in a warm cozy house. The only thing we would improve upon is the internet service it was spotty and seemed to use a ton of data even though we didn't have any devices on. The house was great there were only 2 of us so a bit big, but we only used one of the bedrooms and baths. Plenty of room for more family members. We would highly recommend the home to others.

Peace and quiet

  • 4 of 5

The house is great. Lots of space. Very clean, and good showers. Kitchen is well equipped, and it was really helpful to have left overs of condiments, herbs, and spices from previous guests. It was appreciated to have 24 hour hot water too. Beds were excellent. The only criticism would be the wifi - it took ages to set up, although the instructions were nice and simple. Beware that €10 does not last long - about 3 days with light use. The pub and shop are within a 10 minute walk, and the shop has a small off licence. It is also open quite late in the evening. The location is beside an estuary, but the sandy beach (Carrickfin, beside the airfield) is a car journey away (but only 10 minutes). Carrickfin deserves special mention - huge beach, very gently shelving, and no stones or shingle, just beautiful sand. The hotel (walkable in 15 minutes) was good to eat in (would recommend the scampi), and the Guinness is excellent.

Owner's Response: The houses isolated location makes it problematic finding a solution to the internet, but I`m working on it and will come up with something satisfactory. Thanks for an otherwise very positive review. James

The house is located on the 'Wild Atlantic Way' route.

From first to the last the design and execution of this house has been influenced by the owner himself and reflects his artistic nature. You will be happy to spend time in and around the house soaking up its relaxed atmosphere.

The house is accessed via a private road and is enclosed by sheltering rock- faces, giving the back garden complete privacy. There is a path which leads directly to the strand from the garden ( walking boots recommended ) . The afternoon hours, while the tide is out, affords you the opportunity to explore this unspoiled area and observe at close quarters the numerous sea birds. It is also home to a wide variety of shell fish and includes mussel and commercial oyster beds. The evening brings the tide and with it the chance to swim in calm waters. Depending on the tides and season, the water depth varies between one and two meters

The same strand at its furthest point adjoins Carrickfinn blue flag beach and the Crolly river from where the young salmon begin there long swim to Canada.

The view from the front of the house is dominated by the majestic form of Mount Errigal. The barbecue and patio areas are situated to take maximum advantage of the visually stunning sunsets.

Annagry village has three pubs and two restaurants. One of which is the renowned Killindarragh House “Danny Minnie´s”. Some of the regions most famous artists, such as Clannad, Enya and Altan began their careers playing in the traditional pubs which define the area. You can leave your car at home in the evening and stroll to the village. It's only a few minutes away.

There is a large selection of hotels and pubs in the Rosses region where you can get good food and entertainment at reasonable prices.

Dungloe town has a variety of supermarkets including Aldi and Lidl.

Other Activities: Day trips by ferry to Gola andTory islands
