We stayed here for my best friend's hen party this weekend. The barn was absolute luxury and it helped make our weekend just that bit more special. Lovely hosts and beautiful cake left to welcome us! Thank you again so much, Kirsten and friends x

High quality accommodation in good location

  • 5 of 5

Very nice barn conversion with plenty of space for eight persons. Well equipped and just like home.

Convenient central location with options to visit York, the North york moors, the coast and the Yorkshire Dales. There is a nice pub in the village within walking distance. The Italian down the road also serves good traditional Italian food with the atmosphere of a family restaurant.

Absolutely amazing!!!

  • 5 of 5

This barn is absolutely amazing! It was so warm and immaculately clean-even the laundry smelt lovely! It had everything we needed and more, we could have happily stayed in the whole weekend 😊 Everything in the house is beautifully decorated and the grounds are so pretty! There’s so much space that we were never in each other’s way.

Mr and Mrs Hinde were the perfect hosts! They’d baked us a gorgeous cake for when we arrived and as they’d known we were having Christmas dinner, they’d also left us a box of Christmas crackers.

Thankyou so much for letting us stay in your property and for your lovely hospitality-we can’t wait to book again and get back here soon! Have a lovely Christmas and New Year!

Love Georgie and the gang x

Beautiful barn - perfect for a group of friends !

  • 5 of 5

We had a brilliant weekend at the barn - they have done an amazing job of renovating it and it had everything we needed. The furnishings and overall finish are all great quality, if it was the summer we would have certainly made use of the terrace and outdoor eating area. The kids loved the paddock and enjoyed feeding the friendly sheep !

Highly recommended - thanks for your hospitality and we hope to return again !

Beautiful barn and a fantastic weekend away

  • 5 of 5

I found the barn online and planned to take my fiancé away with our closest friends and surprise him on his 30th birthday. The barn was the perfect location, none of us wanted to leave on the last day. The owner Cyntra couldn’t do enough for us, even filled the ice tray and baked a cake for the birthday boy. The barn is finished to the highest standard and is a perfect location to hop on a bus into the centre of york, which we did on the Saturday. We ate in the local pub on the Friday night, great food and atmosphere the chef even came out to greet us and say happy birthday! Loved our stay would definitely return, an absolute must if you’re thinking of getting away to york but maybe don’t want to be in the centre of it all. Thank you once again Cyntra x

About Mrs Cyntra Hinde

Marcus and Cyntra Hinde. We have lived here for 7 years. We have two children at university, two cocker spaniels and an array of sheep and chickens and we currently have a 15 year old goat called Zippy staying.

Mrs Cyntra Hinde purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Mrs Cyntra Hinde chose York

We love the privacy and feeling of space we get around here and, whilst being rural, we are right on the edge of the village with the village pub a short stroll away and easy access into York by bus or car.

We developed the barn in 2016 and it is located behind the main farm house. It is not overlooked in any way and looks over two paddocks. The 7 acre wood was planted 15 years ago and is a great place to stroll in the morning or evening. You may even see one of the three deer, badgers and owls that seem to like staying at night.

What makes this cottage unique

The luxury of a brand new Barn in a rural setting, with the benefits of loads of space to view the wild life and the birds. There is a calmness about the barn without feeling totally cut off.
