Perched on a hill overlooking Nice, historic stone farmhouse with lovely views of the Mediterranean and surrounding hills. The property faces south & is seated on a very old olive grove on an acre of land. Originally a Roman watchtower, our entirely renovated 'mas Provençal' was built in several stages over the centuries, and is steeped with character & charm. The house is an ideal family holiday home, with lots of outdoor and indoor space, including a big heatable swimming pool, a swing set, fruit trees (including delicious figs in August), a ping pong table and barbecue. The garden is perfectly safe for children & the land is protected by a wall and intercom for visitors. Tennis courts are 5 minutes away 7 the seaside is just 15 minutes down the road. Lots of mountain hiking and climbing too.

What a fantastic get-away

Myself, my family and our best friends rented this property over October had term. And we are so glad we did!

The property easily sleeps 10, with mixtures of kids and adults. The top two bedrooms in the ‘tower’ as the kids called it, gave spectacular views over Nice. The ground floor comprised of a bathroom and toilet room, entrance way with plenty of space to store coats and shoes, then a living room with TV. The best part was the huge kitchen/dining area with its warm golden glow. The kitchen then leads out onto a beautiful patio where we ate most meals and then onto the huge garden and swimming pool (both fenced and with an alarm). The gardens are fantastic for the kids to explore with ping pong, swings, hammocks, plenty of hiding places. The downstairs has three double bedrooms (one en suite), a bathroom and a laundry room. There are washing machines and tumble dryers as well as washing lines outside to dry your swimming stuff. The house is child friendly with baby gate, cots and plenty of toys to keep the littlest happy. There is a large hyper market twenty mins away, glorious beaches and plenty of places to visit. A car is definitely essential as the villa is up a steep hill.

Edgar the owner is an absolute pleasure to deal with and was available to talk to at any time had we needed it- but we didn’t because everything was perfect. We will definitely be returning, thank you so much for making a long-overdue holiday so special.

Incredible Villa and Property

This incredible villa fit our family perfectly. We had 8 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 babies. There was plenty of room to spread out especially with the large property and pool. The villa was clean and the beds were comfortable. We also appreciated the cribs and high chair. We loved the gorgeous view of Nice and the Sea. It was a wonderful place to base out of to do day trips to old town Nice and all the surrounding villages. We had an fantastic trip! Thank you Edgar and Catherine for letting us stay in your amazing Villa!

Beautiful house with such character, kids welcome!

Our large family stayed in this incredible farmhouse for a week in August 2016 and our only regret was that we didn't stay longer.

The house has such character, is well facilitated and is full of charm. We all fell in love with the house and grounds and felt so at home there.

Edgar was extremely warm and friendly while we organised the trip for a family wedding nearby. We brought young children and Edgar made extra effort to supply cots and high chairs.

The swimming pool had a fence that could be fastened when not in use so it was safe for the kids - though they were rarely out of it!!

Honestly one of the best holidays we have ever had thanks to the helpful host and wonderful property. We hope to come back again some day.

Historic house with pickturesque view

Absolutely great place with the most fantastic view over Nice and the Mediterranean Sea.

We were two families - kids from 7 - 18 years - in total ten persons and at no time we felt it being crowded. The pool is Perfect and the garden has plenty of Space for kids to play, petanque, tabletennis ect.

We will return one day for sure!

Traumlage und Traumblick

Wir haben im Juli hier 2 wundervolle Wochen verbracht. Das Haus bietet alles, was man mit 3 Familien braucht, der große Garten und der Pool sind perfekt zum entspannen oder für die Kinder zum Spielen. Das Areal ist abgeschlossen, so dass wir die Kinder immer mit gutem Gewissen aus den Augen lassen konnten. Was aus den Bildern nicht ghervorgeht ist der traumhafte Blick aus Küche und oberem Schlafzimmer. Man ist in 5 min mit dem Auto beim Park and Rail Parkplatz und kann stressfrei mit der Straßenbahn nach Nizza fahren. Bäcker und Restaurants sind fussläufig erreichbar. Edgar und seine Frau sind sehr gastfreundlich und sofort zur Stelle wenn etwas nicht passt/funktioniert. Einziger Wehrmutstropfen ist die Straße vor dem Haus, die man zwar nicht sieht aber aus dem unteren Schlafzimmer manchmal hört, da wir aber aus der Großstadt kommen, hat uns das nicht weiter gestört.

Simply Perfect

We spent 2 wonderful weeks in this house located in a gated residential area in the hills above Nice. Dating from the 15th-17th centuries, the house and grounds were beautiful. The view of the city and the sea were spectacular especially from the top of the tower. With so many things to do in the area there were days when we just stayed home to enjoy the pool and garden. The owners, Edgar and Catherine were of great help, both in person and on the phone. There are several excellent restaurants about 1 km. from the house.

I highly recommend this property.

Note, a car is essential but the best way to go into Nice is via the tram located about 3 km down the hill.

Easy access to the towns up and down the coast, including Monaco, Cannes, Antibes, St. Paul de Vence, and Italy (35 minutes).

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
