10/10 Excellent

Great property on Deer Isle
We had an amazing week at this house on Eggemoggin Reach. It is secluded, peaceful with absolutely beautiful views of the water and wildlife. Don is an excellent host and was very attentive through phone and e-mail throughout the entire process even though there were no issues.

About the host

We come to the Island every summer and suddenly life is different, whether it is walking through the forest looking for deer and wild turkeys, harvesting mussels at low tide, drifting with the remarkable tides or kayaking across the Reach. Reading in the hammock or on the new porch are favorites, drinking some Teroldego Rotigliano on the wine bench, it is all relaxing unless you want some exercise jogging, biking, or swimming.

Why they chose this property

We looked around mid-coast Maine. We wanted to be away from traffic, from big box stores, from touristy venues. Deer Isle fit our criteria. We wanted waterfront but not a view of the mudflats that many properties face at low tide.
We, our children and grandchildren, and our friends who visit treasure sunset (and sometimes sunrise) at this idyllic spot.

What makes this property unique

Quiet, the sound of the salt-water, access to that water with our inflatables, mixed woods with some giant trees, always a different view of the water, different lights (like hammered pewter, deep blue, aqua green, etc.) At night, we watch the meteor showers and constellations with our telescope.
