Nice location - Good stay
We enjoyed our stay. The property was perfect for our family of four. We were hoping to ski at Homewood right down the street but not quite enough snow yet... Garage is great during snow days...

Wonderful stay
We stayed here with another family and we all had a wonderful time. The house was spacious and clean, and had everything we needed. The garage was a nice addition and allowed us to park one car and all of our bikes safely. If we come back, we would rent the same house!

Nice Property
House is very spacious and in a nice, quiet location. Neighbors were also friendly and had cute dogs! It was an easy walk to Chambers Beach and fishing on the Truckee. Owner was easy to communicate with. Overall great stay.

About the host

Hosted by John Lyons

Host profile image
The owners are Northern California natives and have been spending time in Tahoe all their lives. The house is operated by Wells & Bennett, a professional property management company located close to the house & with excellent attention to detail.

Why they chose this property

There's a saying, "The West Shore is the Best Shore". Tahoma is perfectly situated in the some of the least developed shoreline of Tahoe, yet is centrally located. In winter, the house is 5 minutes from Homewood, 20 minutes from Squaw/Alpine, and 45 minutes from Heavenly. You can ski the entire Tahoe area. In summer, there are vast expanses of state park and national forest land, accessible within a short walk from the front door. Hiking and mountain biking options are great, & there are trails not widely known or crowded. There are great beaches in the area - Chambers Landing, Meeks Bay & DL Bliss are close. Tahoe City is under 15 minutes drive. Stateline and the casinos are about 40 minutes away. The West Shore is known for it's "old Tahoe" vibe.

What makes this property unique

Cathedral ceilings and tall slate fireplace plus warm wood detailing just make you feel good from the minute you walk in! Skylights throughout allow you to enjoy sunlight during the day and the stars at night. The large lot allows for privacy in a natural Tahoe setting. It's our happy place and we want all our guests to enjoy it!
