Carvoeiro - one of the prettiest traditional villages in the Algarve with a lot of attractions, excellent restaurants, bars and shops. It is one of the few areas of Europe where a traditional way of life still thrives alongside a bustling modern resort. The Apartment is strategically located giving easy access to everything, the beautiful family friendly beach of Carvoeiro is just 2 mins walk(200m). There are other beautiful beaches within walking distance of the apartment: Paraiso Beach, and Algar Seco. Also nearby are Vale Covo Beach and Vale de Milho Golf.
Tennis Courts, Sand Sculpture festival, Golf Courses and two Water Parks are close by. The Reception is in a block to the rear of the apartment and has facilities (with computer/broadband) and all relevant tourist and other information that may be required. Location Location Location.
We fell in love with the property at first sight and knew it was the one we where going to buy as there are two worlds in one town - the beach, restaurants and associated facilities/entertainment on one hand and on the other peace/tranquility, village walks and scenery.
The apartment is in the beautiful unspoilt town of Carvoeiro where things to do and see are close by, it is central to almost everything you will need whilst on holiday as the beach, shops, transport, cafes, restaurants, pharmarcy, banks and so much more are a short stroll away.
I go on fitness walks for peace and quiet when I dont want the beach, shops, surrounds and enterntainment and all this can be done by walking from our apartment in a different direction its just amazing. The views need to be seen to be appreciated, the town is lively yet not rowdy and the restaurants are fantastic. My children love the night life in Carvoeiro that its hard to get them home and in bed.
Golf: The Algarve has many fabulous golf courses. There is a 9 hole par 3 course golf in Carvoeiro Vale de Milho, and 2 championship courses within about 15 min drive - Gramacho and Pinta. Vale de Lobo Villamoura and Penina & others are within 30 minutes drive.
Water and Theme Parks:
3. Slide and Splash Algarve
4. There are several water sports to undertake due to the apartments proximity to the beach.
There is a super exhibition of sand sculptures which is a unique festival and is considered the largest sand sculpture festival in the world. If you go to Portugal then don't miss out on this between may and September each year. Every year is different and this is a must see!.

We have just enjoyed the perfect holiday, the apartment was superb,
well equipped and fantastic location.
It was made totally stress free, as everything was so well organised.
The apartment was very comfortable and great value for money.
We fell in love with Carvoeiro. Thank you so much, can't wait to re-
Enjoyed a great stay in Carvoeiro. The apartment is perfectly situated - 5 mins from the beach and surrounded by restaurants, bars and small shops. We really enjoyed the cliff walks with the beautiful bays and stunning scenery. The apartment is also perfectly placed to visit all the popular tourist areas.
The apartment has everything you need and even has a fireplace which we used every night. The apartment is on the 3rd floor but there is a lift which is great if you have bought too many groceries. Mike and Emma who manage the property met us upon our arrival and were very helpful. There is also a folder in the apartment with ideas of things to do and see. Would recommend the restaurant "Taste" which is just 5 mins walk from the apt which has some really delicious food and very friendly staff.
The small beach in Carvoeiro is lovely and clean and my two Irish boys even went swimming most days!! The water was apparently the same temperature as the water in Ireland in the summer!
Overall had a great holiday and would recommend this apartment and Carvoeiro to others as a great base in Portugal.
We are a family of 5 (3 children aged 10, 9 and 5). This is a good value spacious, basic apartment in the beautiful village of Carvoeiro. The best thing about this apartment is its location - unlike many of the other apartments and properties in Carvoeiro this one is located right in the centre of the village and requires no walking to reach the many quaint shops, restaurants and the lovely small beach. It is on the 3rd floor, with a large balcony overlooking the street, which was perfect for eating meals out on all day long. It has a lift for easy access, and includes 1 downstairs (twin) bedroom and bathroom. The upstairs master bedroom and en suite were a good size with another little balcony which was pleasant to sit out on and read in the evening (road view). The third bedroom does let the property down, as it doesn't have an outside window, and is just big enough for a camp bed. It also smelt badly of sewerage (couldn't work out why) and was too hot so we didn't use it, and instead set up a bed on the lounge sofa for our 5 year old instead, which was fine. The kitchen had good facilities, and we were able to prepare meals easily which we enjoyed eating al fresco. We didn't use the barbecue, and could only get a couple of British TV channels. This is not a 'luxury' apartment, but is a good value alternative. Air conditioning would be a definite improvement - weather was very hot (over 40 degrees) when we were there and the fans provided were unable to cool the bedrooms enough for comfort in the night.
The shared pool is accessed by some steps at the side of the property, and we found this a great facility - especially in the mornings when it is quite shady. In the afternoons it gets full sun so you need to take a parasol (2 were available in the apartment). There was a nice mix of British, Portuguese, French, and German families staying in the apartments.
We really enjoyed exploring the area - there are lots of beaches within walking distance (we didn't have a car) and you can get taxis to the nearby amazing waterpark, the large supermarket, and further away beaches and towns. We highly recommend getting a water taxi from Ferraguda over to Praia da Rocha, which is the biggest beach with the clearest calmest sea we found - the kids loved the water taxi and it was only 5 euro per adult return. There are so many places we didn't get chance to visit, and we plan to visit Carvoeiro again as it is a fantastic area.
We needed a break somewhere we hadn't been before, with good restaurants and bars but not too big a town, with a beach and good facilities. This we found in Carvoeiro - and the accommodation was just what we wanted. Everything was provided for preparing meals in, but there were good places to have breakfast, a leisurely lunch, or a delicious dinner within 0 - 15 minutes' walk. The apartment was ideal for a party of three adults who each wanted space and peace on one hand and comfortable socializing on the other (although it is big enough for a larger group too). There was a small balcony facing the morning sun, and a big terrace which had the afternoon sun but also a shady part - these were perfect, with a table, seating, sunbeds and a barbeque provided. Really, one could have spent the whole week in the apartment, just popping out for provisions! But this wasn't our aim, and we enjoyed the beach, strolling around town, and the coastal walks. There was also a little street train that took people for a tour around town, and on some days also to the nearby bigger town of Portimao where we had a delicious lunch for under 10 Euros per head, in the old fishing village quarter. We loved the train trip, and the children on board were extatic, waving to everyone we passed, including some cows! We also paid a visit to Pera, a small inland village where a huge sand sculpture exhibition had opened recently, the work of an international group of artists. We took some amazing photographs there. - The Algarve clearly has a lot to offer for everybody, including big shopping centres and its famous golf, but as we were only there to have a relaxing break we did not hire a car, and this was fine. When we needed transport the taxi service was available a few minutes away, it was friendly and cheap. Of individual restaurants and bars, we could mention Taste for meals, Rascals for drinks and snacks, and Havana for coctails, but there were numerous other good ones. It's worth following the recommendations (and non - recommendations!) of Emma and Mike who manage the apartment and see to smooth transfers if you want to book one. They also see to whatever wishes the guests have, and we were very impressed with the service - starting with the transfer taxi driver who was a font of local information, provided in clear English. We came away feeling both relaxed and invigorated, and delighted with the friendly and efficient people who had helped us enjoy our stay.
We had a lovely holiday in Portugal. The weather was great as always as was the apartment. We had stayed here before so knew what to expect. The apartment is spacious and well appointed. The location is fantastic with shops and restaurants a minute or two away and the beach just a short walk down further down the street. There is a nice variety of restaurants and prices are reasonable.
We returned to Carvoeiro after a 10 year gap and stayed in this apartment. The booking was straightforward and thankfully the apartment was exactly as described in the advert. It was clean and cosy and very spacious for five of us and a real home from home. Although it was a little chilly at night there were enough heaters throughout the apartment. We were looking for some winter sun and a beach close by and we easily found both. Our two children loved playing on the beach which was only a stones throw away from the apartment. The owners had thought of everything and buckets and spades and loungers were provided. The area, although out of season kept our interest with plenty of scenic walks and a trip to Lagos. There were plenty of good restaurants and information is provided in the apartment about where to eat and places to visit. We all had a relaxing time and we would definitely book this apartment again. Thanks for a great week.
The appartment is wonderfully spacious, and even a group of friends - like us - who are not keen on spending time together 7/7 find their needs of a little space for privacy met beautifully. The rooms are well furnished, everything is nice and clean, the atmosphere made us feel welcome from the very beginning. One little shortcoming: There are not enough pots of different sizes for tenants who really like to cook. And what with all the fresh fruits and vegetables cooking is not a chore, it is tempting. :-)
February '14 did not match statistics where rain and temperature are concerned - out of the average of 7 rainy days we had 10 and the wind was rather fierce - but we had no problem with the heating, the appartment was cozy.
There are enough nice restaurants open even in February, grocery shopping, post office, etc. is within walking distance. We rented a car for a week to tour the region and found so many places that deserve a closer look that we are planning to come back next year, maybe in March or April to have more of a guarantee for sun and warmth. One of our items on the agenda will be the hiking trail along side the coast with its gorgeous views, birds and plants.
All in all: a great place to be!
