Overview

About the property

Pershore is a riverside Georgian market town in the heart of England with a great selection of restaurants, bars, and the convenience of a modest selection of high street shops.

For fine dining Bell House comes highly recommend. For a more modest evening out, The Pickled Plum is a short walk and has a warm atmosphere, great food, and cask ales.

There's plenty to do and see locally; from countryside walks to passing your time a few local galleries and antique shops.

The property is located within easy walking distance from Pershore train station with trains directly from London Paddington, through the Cotswolds district making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Seeing the area by car is an advantage and Upton-upon-Severn and the Malvern Hills are within easy driving distance and well worth a visit.

The pretty market town is steeped in history. Pershore Abbey which has been a religious site since before the common era and now sits in an extensive well maintained public park for all to enjoy. Pershore was also identified by the allied forces during World War II as a place to fight the Nazi's should they have achieved their plan to invade Britain from their station in the Republic of Ireland. The old bridge crossing the river is now a footbridge and has been blocked to traffic ever since. The new road bridge was built after the war.

We Love Amerie Barn!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying for 4 weeks (15 May – 7 June 2017) at Amerie Barn in Pershore, UK. This was our second extended stay there. The cottage is perfectly located so that everything on The High Street and general vicinity is in easy walking distance. Pershore itself is filled with lovely places to eat, unique shops, delightful pubs, and friendly people. The Abbey Park is the green gem of the town, right at its center, and is a 5-minute walk at most from Amerie Barn. Public transportation is plentiful and easy to use, but we also rented a car to travel at leisure to the many surrounding towns and sights. The cottage, Amerie Barn, is a converted barn at the rear of a large Georgian house with a small, but adequate parking space next to the cottage. There is also a small garden patio. The cottage was clean, comfortable, and inviting. The lounge has overstuffed furniture and is perfect for relaxing. TV reception is excellent and there is Wifi throughout the cottage. The door opens into a modern kitchen/lounge area with a tile floor (easy to clean and keep clean), with two tasteful area rugs, a runner between the kitchen and lounge, and a large rug delineating the dining area. The dining area has a large glass-top table and 4 chairs. Plenty of windows provide great natural light to the lounge and dining area. The kitchen is comfortably modern with a washer/dryer, dishwasher, under-counter refrigerator, and separate under-counter freezer. I loved the large "Island" counter which contains a hob/oven. Plus this island counter separates the kitchen from the lounge area. There are plenty of utensils and dishes. The upstairs is carpeted with easy-to-clean indoor/outdoor carpeting. There is one large bedroom with a comfortable double bed. Windows and skylights provide excellent natural lighting and a lovely atmosphere. In addition, the bedroom has an armoire with drawers for clothing, a pretty dressing table with mirror and bench, and night stands with lamps. Just outside the bedroom is a desk and chair for office/study/paperwork purposes. The modern bathroom has a tile floor as well as a tub with shower. Bed and bath linens were also in plentiful supply. The owner thoughtfully left manuals for all the appliances, and many brochures about Pershore and the surrounding area. She was attentive to our needs and comfort. She even greeted us with fruit and wine shortly after our arrival. We look forward to returning.

Lovely place to stay, good facilities and quite private.

  • 4 of 5

Under floor heating not very warm on the ground floor, a fire would have been welcome, otherwise it was faultless.
